How do you use the A10 bombs without a laser designator? There's never a friendly unit who just happens to have a designator on them and taking a stroll through the enemy base.

I want to know the evasive left and right commands. When you do the big steps left and right. Those are great for avoiding fire.
  6. If the HMMWV was parked your AI wouldn't notice it for a while, especially if the engine was off. Then it would be a white mark on the commander HUD instead of red.

Today I learned something (Well I always wanted to try it but never got around to doing it). In warfare when you start, you get an ambulance. I kept it alive and just outside or inside safe locations of towns. We would respawn on it and take every town from Lopatino down to Elektrozavodsk eventually. Then we fought vigorously to hold Elektro after wave after wave of Russians kept attacking us. What have I learned? It's best to keep the HMMWV Ambulance alive and it's a great tool!

Use smoke grenades they're very helpful. You can also use them as a distraction when playing against human players. Throw it far away to a different area so they'll think you'll be around there, and sneak around. Use them to obscure those nasty MG positions usually guarding towns. Always carry at least 1 smoke grenade so you can tell chopper pilots where to land for an evac or just for a lift.

You have to right click to spot the guy anyway so isn't that cheating? Knowing where he is on the map? It's part of the game, you have to use it to give your men an engage order.

Yeah that's what I mean OXMOX. But you get a little squarish box when you point. Try pointing that cross a field or somewhere you think there's an enemy, this way you can find him. Get my drift?

Formations: Use the file (Compact column) formation when moving through towns so your AI doesn't get spread out and isolated. Use the line formation when in the open engaging targets. Use the wedge when the line formation firefight is over. Use the V formation when you're advancing into a town so you're God AI can spot troops with their xray vision first.

You're just like me :D Especially when you were younger.
  13. I just spend 3 hours trying to kill this one person, along with the rest of my team. I would buy an AV8B and fly @ 2000m. My radar never detected him, but he sure detected me. I lost 5 harriers to that *****. I've never been so furious in my life, ever. If I could magically teleport to him, I would *Censored due to excessive violence*. I tried flying high and fast, low and fast, high and slow, low and slow. No matter what I did this guy always shot us all down. Then we went at him with tanks, and out of nowhere we were getting nailed by rockets, the commander radar wouldn't detect him either. I lost 3 tanks to a Tunguska. 3 TUSKs ! I had 200'000$, I ended up with 90k I spent so much on planes helicopters etc. One guy actually managed to find him and lock onto him with an AH64, he put 8 hellfires into him and he took 3 or 4 AA missiles and blew up. I am, in no way exaggerating. We went from having total air superiority, nearly ever town, unchallenged tanks. To a few miserable 50 service point towns in 3 hours, thanks to one little ****** and his AA. There is no way, AA should be this powerful and undetectable. If you have any tips, throw em at me. Oh and the ***** is called Dakan.

    AA is way too overpowered

If you don't want your AI stinger units to waste their missile, just like I do with the M136 rifleman, just tell them to hold fire and disengage. Keep them behind you a bit so he doesn't get in the way of the fire fight, then call him up when you need him.

    Bohemia Interactive's future ARMA 3!

The game needs a new engine for sure. Whether or not BIS is up to it I wouldn't know but I somehow think we won't be getting an ArmA 3, unfortunately, all good things come to an end. The main problem with ArmA is the AI, as it's always been. They need to be autonomous, and take cover and return fire in a suppressive manner when fired at.
  16. Hello everybody, I was curious as to whether the smoke grenades you can buy in warfare are actually helpful. It would be very useful in some situations. The smoke in Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising was done perfectly, except, it only blinded the player and the AI could still see and shoot at you through the smoke.

I assume this game is going to come as quite a shock to his poor soul. Be with him every step of the way as he makes this important transition in his life, from being an arcade noob, to being a professional soldier xD

    Can AI see through smoke?

I have another question. I'm currently kicking butt on this TV2 player's choice server with an LAV25. I have the LAV25 moving around and covering me and my 3 AI soldiers. Except when I get in the LAV, they all turn out. If everybody EXCEPT me is in, they stay turned in. Basically, once I board, they turn out, and don't engage. I tell them to have the danger combat mode, but it doesn't help. It's okay, because I disembark before I reach the town, and I advance with my 3 men, but it's bugging me because whenever we cross an East guy on the road, it's dangerous because I have to disembark quickly.

    AA is way too overpowered

I play on TV2 Warfare, SuicideSquadUK, and Special Warfare Only BE warfare, no ACE2
  20. Well without proper teamwork it's impossible. Because some idiot is going to charge a town with your last M1A2 and get it SPG9ed to hell and back. That isn't a problem in warfare. The only problem is the AI are Gods, they can see everything and they never miss.

    AA is way too overpowered

He was hitting me with those 1 hit kill missiles. Yesterday I shot a Kamov with 6 stingers, he was 1km from me flying away from me slowly @ about 600m altitude. I watched as each missile blew up about 500m from him and way off target. Wat? I have a lot to learn from this game. But I only play Warfare. It's the only mode you can play when you don't have friends playing with you.
  22. The gameplay needs a massive change if it's to have such prices. Such as the effectiveness of enemy AI. It takes 15'000 bullets to kill one man (well in Vietnam it did). What ever happened to long fire fights? In ArmA 2 things suck really bad. I need to DL ACE2 apparently...

    AA is way too overpowered

He also took out 3 of my Abrams TUSKs when we tried to go kill him. Then we tried attacking from a different direction with air. Why go on foot with AT? If you don't even know where he is. He's constantly relocating.
  24. -Shifty-

    AI & smoke grenades...

But is there a point to them using them? Can the AI see through smoke? That could be why they aren't scripted (in vArmA2) to use them.
  25. -Shifty-

    AA is way too overpowered

I'm quite displeased with the gameplay in ArmA2, The AI has God aim and there's no realistic engagements. Between humans it's great (Berzerk) but in COOP or Warfare it's ridiculous. I thought this was supposed to be a type of simulator? The moment the first bullets buzzes past you in war, even if you're a well trained soldier, you're heart rate is going to increase a lot. This will make you aim less accurately. This is why soldiers are trained to remain calm, except only to a certain extent. In war it's all about suppressive fire and flanking. You pump hundreds (or dozens depending on the battle) of rounds into their cover while another team moves to the flank. People will be pumping bullets out as accurately as possible, except maybe 1 bullet in 2 magazines is going to hit your target. This can lead to fire fights with literally little to no casualties that can last a very long period of time. (If I'm wrong, vets, please correct me) This is just how I see things. In ArmA 2 they spot you, and immediately headshot you.
