    Tank Warfare Info?

While tanks exploding from a single hit is rare in real life (short of getting lucky and hitting the ammo rack, which only can cause explosions on a lot of older Russian MBT's with unprotected ammo), crews tend to be smart. After a hit or two, they will try to get out of the situation ASAP or bail out. The idea of tank slug fests isn't a very modern thing, but more common in WW2 where tanks weren't as advanced, as most modern MBT's (of which all the A3 ones are) are more than capable of killing each other and it comes more down to crew skill than tank capability. Tanks have been downgraded from a main combat arm more to a support arm for mechanized infantry, as the concept of Combined Arms warfare is advanced and more and more Urban Warfare is becoming the norm where tanks aren't very capable but infantry are. Even worse, an Infantry Platoon has more than enough weapons that can disable a tank (at least on paper) now. So I think the way it works with crews not wanting to take more than a damaging hit or two before getting the hell out of dodge is a nice mechanic, but they shouldn't try to just bail out on the spot (unless they have no way to move the tank) and the vehicle shouldn't explode from every possible hit. This goes to all vehicles.

    They better have female soldiers...

I think their shouldn't be any combat females in Arma 3. Now I didn't read all 78 pages so please excuse me if we went over this. Their hasn't been any combat female roles in any other Arma game because females aren't allowed combat roles. At all. And lets face it, no one in Arma want's to play an Admin soldier. We want to play Infantry, Armor, Special Forces, stuff like that. The roles that can't have females. So unless the faction has proof they allow female front-line infantry, or it's an irregular guerrilla faction, females should not be there.

    ArmA 3: Rearmed ???

Oh I see what you mean. Im not sure, im guessing it will be like Arma 2 Combined Operations where if you have A2 installed and install OA in the same folder is automatically mixes them.

    ArmA 3: Rearmed ???

There was already confirmation from BIS that A2 content is usable in A3. It was in one of the news releases, I will try to dig it up. EDIT: Found it Quote: " The game's development will also have a strong focus on backward compatibility so that older assets will be usable in ArmA 3. "
  5. Name: Jim Burkhalter (nickname: Washout) Soldier name: Zephyr Age: 15 (don't exclude until you know me, I am not..."normal" for my age...I learn fast, learn well, and absorb information quickly. I am considered "gifted" and very intelligent/mature) Language: English (United States) Games: Arma 2 CO (lacking BAF and PMC) Timezone: United States Eastern Location: Philadelphia Mic: Headset, just broke but will be replaced in the next week Experience: Played every game since OFP until my fingers bled from keystrokes haha, but I have A LOT of experience in the game itself (so most skills I already have, but I always LOVE the ability to get better so any training courses I would gladly take) but I lack experience online with humans so that is what I hope to achieve here Roles: I can do anything but fly a plane or helicopter. Sniper roles can be done, but I have troubles with the ACE sighting... I have just about every mod, and can get anything requested. I also can get any sort of communication program depending on what you require (Teamspeak, etc.) I am currently looking for people who are tactically sound and take the game seriously. I also wish to have a community of players who are willing to at least try out a 15 year old kid on the East Coast of the United States (at least give me a shot, I have more tactical, strategical, and logical sense then most adults I know. I am a "gifted" child, so I am way ahead of my age and are thus very mature. You can't lose, might as well allow me to try-out) and give him some experience on the multiplayer PVP/CO-OP game with people who are open, friendly, and serious. My computer specs I am not sure about to be honest, but I can run the game cleanly on High with maxed settings in most single-player scenarios so I don't see any issues with online. I have no time limitations at this moment outside school. I get off school (Monday-Friday) at 4:00, and can be open at 4:30 most days. I can't commit to long-term payments depending on cost should your team require that. I am a very friendly person, and am openly willing to do "interviews" and applications. If you feel like you would like to help me out a bit, shoot me a PM and we can talk and sort out any questions. Thanks so much!

New Online player looking for start

Yeah I literally JUST noticed that. Thanks hahaha, gonna make a post there and hope for the best
  7. Hey everyone! Before I get into the "meat" of my question, let me just say who I am. My in-game name is an old "callsign" I had, Zephyr (Zef-r). I have played just about every single BI simulator since OFP, and am not new to the realism in the series and am REALLY itching to get into the multiplayer for once and try some PVP against people who know what they are doing and with people who can pull basic tactics (AKA everything the AI isn't). What has stopped me all this time, however, had been my age. See, im only 15. However, unlike most of the people who share this awkward age with me, I have a large tactical, logical, and mature mind. Everyone who I have attempted to get to know however has pretty much cut off connection to me once they learned im 15. SO that's what im here for. What im looking for is anyone who can point me in the right direction towards a good group of people who will accept a teenager like me, and who will (in a friendly manner) teach me the ropes of Arma 2 PVP (should be good to say, I have CO but I lack BAF and PMC...so far...). I can get any sort of addon, mod, or program needed so that is not an issue. I HAD a headset with a mic, but it literally just broke so I will replace it in about a weeks time. So, communication is also not an issue. Only issue that I have is time (my internet dies at 10:00 PM EST, and I go to school Monday-Friday), but that can be worked around (I am on the East Coast, Philadelphia if that matters). I can answer any sort of questions here, or by PM. Don't be shy, im a good person :p Thanks, this is why I love the BI community so cheers to everyone!
