  1. First of all, great work on all the NLI addons and all your hard work is much appreciated. I did some testing with the NLI infantry units and noticed some bugs. Unit hand model appears disjointed at the wrist unit weapons stick through right hand wrist CT unit gasmask eye holes & filter have face image on them CT unit gasmasks & helmets dissapear at some distances To better explain, I posted some screen shots here: http://s1007.photobucket.com/albums/af191/Q0R/
  2. I spent some time this weekend playing with the WW4 mod and discovered that there are a lot of armed civilian/irregular/merc/resistance units in there - a huge selection of units. Very impressive!
  3. I tried adding an rpg as a secondary weapon to the FP civs and that did not work. I copied the same init string to another (non-FP) unit in the same mission and it worked. So I guess there is something different with the unit model as you suggested. It's a shame because the FP civs are the best looking ones that I've seen.
  4. Just wondering if any of the existing OFP RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) addons model aspects like airbursts, ordnance (AP vs. AT). I found an interesting article that gives some insight into how RPGs have been put to use in conflict: http://www.exile.ru/articles/detail.php?ARTICLE_ID=7322&IBLOCK_ID=35 From what I have seen, the PRGs from RHS and OWP seem to be very well done.

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

Sorry, the link brings me right to page 27 of the "Operation FacePlant US Infantry v1.00" thread. The pic in question is in the post by BlackScorpion on 10-31-2006, 12:07 PM. Not a huge deal but I was just curious to see if maybe someone else had created a SCAR addon. I found another example in the OFP Phototgraphy topic: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=47015&page=55 or: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/NSX_USSR/ofp_album03/ofp_album04/dxdshot1150318481.jpg I'll stop spamming you guys with these now :o BTW, I tried the BlackBlood SCARs the other night and they look great! Just what I was looking for!
  6. I will try that. I also tried doing this last night with some units in SelectThis' STTCivil2 Addon pack Version 2 and it worked. My reason behind trying this is to expand the number of units available for use as mercs/PMCs (in addition to the EXCELLENT Joh SF, Aardvark PMC, Rellikki's Guerillas and others). Armed FP civs look pretty good but are missing any webbing or load bearing gear. I have no experience with the mod tools so adding additional texture or model pouches or chest rigs is a bit beyond me right now. The quick fix would be adding a backpack/rucksack to the units in question. My inspiration for this was the BIS and Schnapsdrosel mercs in Arma. So many modern special forces are running around the real world in irregular equipment and it was cool to see it reflected in-game.
  7. What brought me back to OFP several years ago was suddenly discovering all the mods and addons for it after not playing for a while. OFP is probably one of the games that has the most fan created content for it (at least in terms of sheer gigabytes of content) but a lot of people haven't heard about it. For me its like nethack, Dukenukem3d or dagerfall; technologically dated but still very playable and enjoyable. In terms of niche, OFP is a one of a kind for portraying late 20th century squad to platoon level combat. I often play it and WinSPMBT - OFP for smaller engagements and WinSPMBT for larger engagements and to better understand how combined arms work together on the battlefield (the unit database is a great reference for OFP too). Arma is great too but the mods & addons really make the game for me.

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

Sorry for the confusion. The weapon in question is on page 27 of the thread, second pic from the top. Unit looks similar to a Johnny's SF body with custom head and what looks like a SCAR. I presumed that the link would point to the exact point in the thread.

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

I would like to add another Thank You for posting these and of course much gratitude to BlackBlood for all his hard work. I really miss having SCARs in OFP when I switch back from Armed Assault so I did some searching... I think these are for VBS1: http://www.snowfella-modworks.com/pics/scar_l_s_elgm_ingame.jpg http://www.snowfella-modworks.com/pics/scar_h_s_ingame.jpg http://www.snowfella-modworks.com/pics/scar_l_cqc_ingame.jpg I also sighted another? SCAR addon for OFP here (second image down): http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=48300&page=27 Not sure if this is a BlackBlood's SCAR too but it looks good.
  10. Thanks for your response. I'm a noob when it comes to underlying unit models. Would the binocular "weapon" also be classified as a secondary weapon because I believe I can equip this in addition to a primary weapon. I tried using the predefined FP Civ Militia units which are pre-configured with primary weapons but I don't recall seeing any rpg sub units which would support your secondary weapon theory.
  11. Hello, I've been trying to use the Mapfact Rucksack Addon V1.1 with FacePlant Civillian Pack 1.00 but the backpack model never appears. Rucksacks work with other units (e.g. BIS, DMA Eur. Res.) but I can't get the backpacks to appear with FP civs. The init string that worked on non-FP units was: removeallweapons this; this addweapon "MAPFACT_RUCKSACK_CLASSNAME" (I don't have the exact rucksack classnames in front of me). However, the same init string did not work for FP Civs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
