    58932 showing as 58627?

That fixed it thanks, strange cos it seemed to have the exact same target. I'll just copy the shortcut over from now on tho. Thanks again.

Vista/7 Gadget for Arma 2 Betas!

Try this link instead, I've just packed the gadget into a zip file, just unpack that zip file and then double click the gadget inside.

Vista/7 Gadget for Arma 2 Betas!

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 then just double clicking the gadget file should suffice. If you're not running those then sorry I can't really help. On Windows Vista and Windows 7 your gadget are actually contained in this folder : C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar Although AppData is actually a hidden folder by default, you would need to unhide the folders to see it.
  4. Using oktane's excellent work on creating an RSS feed for the Arma 2 Beta releases I modified a gadget I had previously made : Main Gadget Settings Page As you can see the settings page will provide you with the function to change the timestamp format and will also allow you to select a theme for the gadget (although I've only made one at the moment), I also added a couple of links at the bottom for particular forum pages as well as the BIS Studio site. (Any other requested links could be added later...Not for people's sites though) This way you can keep up to date with the beta releases without having to constantly visit the beta release page. Clicking on the links on the gadget will download that particular patch to your computer. Download my gadget from the Microsoft Gallery here Download my gadget from Oktane's site here (More alternative links would be greatly appreciated) Just download that zip file, unpack it and double click the gadget file inside to install. You can access the actual RSS feed here. Oktane is also working on the original Windows 7 RSS gadget to make it do the same thing, the difference with his is that you will have an update on the changes : (I'll add the link to his here when it's completed ;) )

    RSS Feed for Beta Patches

Very nice work, thanks so much ;) The thing I like the most is that clicking the link on the gadget actually downloads that beta. I do agree people may prefer your version cos it gives the info for each build but as long as they have the ease of use of a gadget I'm sure it will help ;) I added a new post for our gadgets, PM me once you complete yours and I'll add the link in there. I've posted the link to your hosting but I'll be uploading my gadget to the Microsoft Gadget Gallery then I'll change the link to that to save your traffic ;) I'd advise you to do the same with yours although they might take unkindly to you editing theirs :P

    RSS Feed for Beta Patches

Yeah I'm not sure what's wrong either, the same code works fine with the forum I made it for. I get this when I try to capture the RSS feed : It's weird tho cos the first time you run it, it captures the feed fine. Then at the next refresh it fails. See, here it is working : The date/time stamps should be useful for tracking progress too ;) Meh, I'm sure we'll work it out.
  7. I just installed the latest beta patch and it shows up in the main menu screen as 58627? Any idea why?

    RSS Feed for Beta Patches

I made your RSS into a Windows sidebar gadget (I actually just edited one I had already made for a forum I work on), it will work with either Windows Vista or Windows 7. It would be great if someone could add an alternative link for it (Once it's all working right). Download it here It seems to take a while to show the entries, maybe something to do with your RSS feed. I stuck a couple of links in the settings page too (Control Panel, PMs and BiStudio). EDIT: Seem to be having problems on it, are you blocking flood attempts? The gadget is set to refresh the list every 5 minuted, which I can change to 1 hour if needed. What's a safe refresh interval to use before being blocked? (You could always edit the gadget yourself if you want to).
  9. Hi, Me and my mates like to play the Evolution 30 mission but when we all leave the mission resets and we have to start from the beginning again next time. Is there anyway to pause the mission when we leave the server or just leave it running without us being on the server? Thanks for your help ;)

    Patch 1.04 suggestions

My suggestions : 1. FIX THE 8GB PROBLEM 2. FIX THE VRAM PROBLEM WITH NVIDIA CARDS 3. FIX THE 8GB PROBLEM (Just to get the point across) 4. When I lie down with another weapon, i,e, SMAW, the soldier gets his sniper rifle out, why? Just leave the same weapon in his hand, I got shot far too many times cos he's messin about with weapons when I didn't choose them! 5. Fix the new problem with 1.3 where bullets will penetrate through closed doors (See the firestation in the evolution 30 mission)
  11. As the subject says, I want to know when the developers intend to fix this game, I have a Skulltrail system with 8 3.2GHz cores, 16GB of 800MHz ram and 2 8800GT's in SLI. I'm lucky if I can play for 10 minutes without the game crashing. Of course I have to use the -winxp flag to get the game to show any textures at all. WTF? Why? Didn't the developers bother to test this game on a variety of machines? Didn't they have beta testers? For a game that looks like it will have as many patches as the first one did, wouldn't it be sensible to have a more inclusive beta testing program that can give performance results on a variety of test machines? I can play any other game on the market at very high settings (I know my GFX cards are older now but it appears the game does not perform any better with newer generation cards either) without any problems whatsoever, so what makes this game different? I eagerly awaited the 1.3 patch thinking, stupidly as it transpired, that they would address the most obvious and most serious bug this game has, did they? No, what they did was fix the smallest most insignificant bugs, bugs which most people probably would not even have noticed. Now the 1.3 version of the game crashes my server box as well. So my question remains, when are the developers going to concentrate on fixing these major bugs, which, by any other developer, would be called "showstoppers". To release a product that performs as badly as this game does is simply unforgivable.
