    Thanks guys. I wasnt sure if the no stamina module had to be syncronised to every unit you wanted it to affect. good to know the module just needs to be placed, and it will affect every character. Any ideas on the tracers? The ball tracers look so much better than the vanilla ones, and i have yet to see a mod that comes close. Im surprised no-one has released something similar on its own. The laser beam type tracers really spoil the night battles for me and id love to still have them when not using ace.

    ACE for OA 1.13

    hey guys. im slowly learning how to get to grips with this game, and its millions of mods. im using armarizer, and im still trying to find my perfect sweet spot using the right number and mixture of mods. i love ace, but depending on what I am doing, sometimes i prefer to play without it. I now have 2 x profiles i use, one with ace, and one without it. I am now trying to work out how i use portions of the ace 2 mod, on their own without the rest of the mod. 1. To remove the new stamina system permanantly, is it simply a case of deleting the 2 x arma_sys stamina pbo files?? Will this effect any other parts of the mod? I know i can add the module in the editor to disable it for a mission. however does that only remove it for the unit it is syncronised to? 2. The ball tracers in this mod are brilliant and i need to know how to use this outside of ace. I copied the tracer files from the ace 2 addons, and made my own new '@tracer' addon, with these files inside. It wont let me use it though as it gives an error message telling me this addon has to be used with 'ace_main'??? Any ideas how I can get the same tracer effects to work independent of ace?

    Gamepad Friendly Controls in Arma 3!!!

    yeah using the joypad for infantry combat in arma 2 is ridiculous... however like with battlefield 3, i switch to my xbox joypad for using planes and helicopters. It so much more natural and smooth controlling the aerial vehicles with the dual analougue sticks. Flying a jet with a keyboard, feels almost as stupid and as un-natural to me as trying to play infantry in arma 2 with a control pad. i tend to have my 360 pad on my lap then grab it as soon as im in a helicopter / jet. can easily map all the required keys to the pad. Really hope i can do the same with arma 4. I dont have the funds for a decent joystick, and the 360 pad is a brilliant and cheap alternative (as a side note, they are proving damn handy things to have on a pc at the moment. most new games seem to have auto configs set up as soon as it detects a 360 pad built in).

    first impression and any questions

    brilliant so far. the german campaign seems to be working just about ok. the editor is fantastic and the AI seems better than ARMA2. Seems to be running well now aswell with no crashes for a while after tweaking the nvidea control panel. my brief foray into multiplayer was a let down. barely any servers, only one or two with any number of players, i got major lag and got kicked for im assuming bad ping. will try again tommorow, for now the editor and the battles you can create with these fantastic units is worth the fee alone.

    game seems more stable from the patch. seems great, basically arma 2 with extra options in ww2. units models are brilliant. love the variety of mounted weapons etc. Im still getting used to things but boy multiplayer with this will be epic

    1.61 patch question?

    youve all confused the hell out of me now... my game version is 1.6.0 this thread talks about a 1.6.1 patch, yet the links go to a patch titled 1.6.0 then the dev above says it should be version 1.01???? Do i need to patch? Im going to have a tinker with the graphics options but it seems very buggy, Ive had 4 crash to desktops within 10 mins, and im only on the test mission where u get to view all the units. I was getting great frameworks, and the game seems awesome from what ive seen. also noticed the first few times of entering vehicles and mouted guns it works fine, then eventually after a while i can only get the 'gear' menu highlighted, and no longer get the option to enter the vehicle? (though this might have something to do with the fact i was testing the weapons on the assorted troops :-)
