    SVChost.exe ?

Jep. Since I deleted the downladed installer.exe the noise and HD / network traffic stopped again to normal. Any official reply on this what caused it ? Bugged download ?

    SVChost.exe ?

Problem was that the ArmA2DEMO.exe installation file kept sending info around (appearantly). I now deleted the .exe to instal the ArmA2 demo and the sound is gone, including the file loading and sending to my hard drive.
  3. Hi, Before purchasing Arma 2 I decided to try the demo first. Having a great time and most likely I'll purchase this great game, despite the stupid AI and bugs. ;) But... I have a problem now: My computer is making a lot of noise suddenly, a sort of "scratching sound" which appearantly is coming from my Hard Drive. Some friends told me how to look up what the exact problem is on my Hard Drive and I found the following: A SVChost.exe is taking up to 350K bytes / min of my HD (source controle on HD through taskmanager showed this) - just your entire windows system is taking up 6K bytes / min only! I looked up how I can specify the SVC part (as there are more than one SVC applications on your computer) and I found that too: The SVChost.exe file located in my Arma 2 map is causing the trouble and takes up so much bytes: C:\Games\ARMA2DEMO.exe According to the internet some SVChost.exe files can be used for mallware spreading and gaining info from your computer on a distance. What is going ? Now I don't really know what to do further, aside uninstalling entirely Arma 2 Demo. And if this is also the case with Arma 2, then you can cancel my purchase goes this sound makes me go nuts! Sincerely, ---------- Post added at 06:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:33 PM ---------- Bumped into something odd. The SVChost.exe was located at: C:\Games\ARMA2DEMO.exe However, all my Arma 2 Demo installments are located at: C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Demo Does this mean I'm infected with something somehow ? Perhaps through online play in Arma 2 ? Map transfers ? AVG Scan to these specific folders brought nothing up though. Edit: Sorry, I'm not much of a computer technician: wait a minute. I downloaded the Arma 2 demo into the file C:\Games. The ARMA2DEMO.exe is not the game, but what I used to instal the game for! Thought it was from a Fileplanet downloading link, from the official Arma 2 page. ---------- Post added at 07:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:57 PM ---------- Found the demo download URL again which I used: http://www.filefront.com/ArmA+2+Playable+Demo/;13929938;/fileinfo.html It is a direct link from the Arma 2 official page: http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-demo_en.html Could it be that this download url is corrupted ? Do I have to fear malware on my computer or other ?
