  1. Fixed! After tinkering with the router settings my roomie seems to have found a solution! IGMP proxy needs to be enabled (this is for a Draytek 2700 series router), description for IGMP enabled reads as 'multicast proxy for hosts on a lan'. Note that we do seem to have lost the ability to use in-game microphone communications. Hope this is of use to people and if anyone has any info on how to re-enable voice comms in game please let us know!
  2. Hi, I have recently moved in with a friend, both of us have ArmA 2 and have played the same MP servers before, however now that we're sharing the same net connection we cannot both connect to an online server/MP game at the same time. We can get a LAN game up and running, but if we try to connect to the same internet game it disconnects ('no message received for x-seconds') whichever one of us is already in the server and gives a 'connection failed' message to the one trying to join. What can we do to fix this issue? Has anyone else experienced this? We have tried several basic possible fixes such as restarting the router and restarting both rigs, enabling UPnP and running the 'winsock reset' cmd but thus far nothing has worked. Can anyone offer some help, possible workarounds, things to try etc.? I'm not in the IT industry so I can't tell you much other than both comps are running xp and are set up as what I assume is basic/standard. I may need clear step by step instructions if possible!
  3. Howdy, I require step-by-step assistance for a few issues with this mission relating to defences and High Command, I'm hoping this thread will become the definitive source for anyone with similar questions as although I have seen them touched upon in other threads there are very few clear answers to be had, leaving me unsure exactly what should be possible, what I'm doing wrong, and what may still be bugged in the latest version (1.03) of the game. My issues are: 1) Being a natural turtler I wish to ensure my Primary Base is heavily fortified, however I am having two issues with this: Firstly I am usure if the static defences I build are manned automatically - if so are they manned by unattached units linked to the town defensive production or units attached to a squad/commander that needs to be kept within the base? How do I order static defences to be manned by whichever of these may be the case? - If not and I have to manually produce individual units to man the static defences can I either transfer these units or disband them and have them remain manning the static defences so I can move on to build more troops and man further defences without maxing out my squad cap? The issue here is that at the moment I am building defences and manning them with members of my squad, yet regardless of how many I build or their placement they only acquire incoming targets roughly 50% of the time and get chewed up and spat out the rest, meaning I spend all my time replacing the units lost In short, I wish to fortify each town I take over with fully manned, repaired, supplied(ammo) and effective defences overlooking the enemy's standard approaches, how do I best achieve this? 2) When building vehicles, for example a BMP2 to transport my squad and I, sometimes even though I kick out the existing crew and either send them to man defences or disband them a random NPC will jump in and try to take over the vehicle. I do not appear able to kick these randoms from the vehicle or have my own squad man the weapons. If I leave the driver's position the NPC will take off with the vehicle and sometimes whether I or my squad are in it or not the vehicle has been 'teleported' (assuming fast travel) to another town. How can I clear a vehicle of troops and prevent it being moved against my will and ensure my squad is manning the weapons systems? 3) 4) 5) Please be advised that I am totally clueless when it comes to anything involving editing/scripting or in any way modifying the game, so if the solutions to any of the above issues require such I will need in-depth instructions. Apologies for my ignorance and thank you in advance! Sincerely, Narcissist
