@ Ice-Raver my system is very close to yours and IMO you are more then capable to run with grass/all eye candy, I like it so much I can't run without grass anymore. try thease settings and see how she runs. Settings---->Force Vsync on it NCP ( I don't know why this helps me because the game has it on by default but it does) and 8 pre rendered frames| I play at 2048x1152 rez but put yours to max| 4.5k view| textures maxed| video mem default| AF normal|AA normal| terrain maxed| objects Maxed| shadows High| Post proc High| with Vsync i get a much smoother game. I don't see the high FPS but all i need is 60FPS:) P.S I'm runnin Vista 64 and it's runnin great 4 me.. P.P.S.. I beat you in vantage by 300 points with a 295 and my I7 at 3.8... I had to wave me Epeen for a sec :)

I have a question.... what causes your weapon to lower???? I don't think i had this issue a week ago and now it does it randomly... I tested it by just running around (2xW) and then stoping, sometimes it would be lowered when i stopped and sometimes it wouldn't it i noticed that it would be lowered more often if i started my run in the crouched position. so is your weapon supposed to lower randomly making it so you need to push LMB to bring it back up or is this a bug??? also is there a rais/lower weapon button that i can't find??

see rig in sig........I am using vista 64 and it is running ARMA II as close to perfact as I think it can get in it's current state. 45-60Fps in MP. I have like 1 CTD every other day now but thats it after 1.03 (big improvement) I think it has more to do with how clean your OS is not what OS you are running Settings= 2048x1152 rez|4K view|textures maxed|Video mem default| AF normal| AA normal|Terrain Maxed|Objects maxed|Shadows high|Postprocess High| and I force Vsync in NCP and it seems to help. I know it is on by default but forcing it looks smoother for what ever reason...... It looks beautiful :)

To have anything worth comparing we need to all run it the same... my vote goes with all normal settings 3k view low post proc (because there is no normal) 1280x1024 rez and with vsync because IMO the game has Vsync as default for a reason ROFL---- I should read the first post shouldn't I :P

I think Post #7 is spot on...... I am using Vista 64 and have great Preformance (45-60FPS in MP) I have a great rig but I have noticed people with similar rigs complaining about there FPS.. I don't have a cluttered/fragmented HD, I have it set to defrag every week. I don't put a lot of crap on my PC... I think it boils down to keeping a CLEAN OS... My .02

For guys on STEAM I figured out how to do auto walk/run.. while holding down W do shift+TAB to bring up the steam menu... then do SHIT+ TAB again and when you come out of the steam menu you will still be running.. it works for W,S,A,D... to stop it you need to hold down the same key that you started with(I.E. if you wanted to go straight/W then you need to hold W again and do the same SHIFT+TAB to stop auto running)... i never use this and found it on accident :)

Any fix for the random CTDs????? this is the only issue I am having with ARMA II. It is wierd because it just crashes to desktop in a fraction of a second and when i check task manager there are no applications running but the ARMA2.exe is still a running processes... I have seen up to 3 Processes running at the same time becasue I forgot to end them after a fee CTDs......all in all the game IS running better for me after 1.03

+1000..... This is my only real issue with ARMA II.... As of now I play mostly on the sloppy berzerk lab maps because it's the only populated hold games... Hey moosed, wanna start a 2 man team? lol :)

I 100% agree with the OP.. and I think comparing ARMA II to an MMO is about as close of a comparison as you can get.... no other shooter has this level of depth/scale and the community needs to realise that it is gunna take time to get it all working correctly.... be patient!!! ARMA II = best game ever made IMO and it will only get better :) P.S: I have not seen any graphic anomalies since the new patch (1.03) and have only had CTD 2 times.....thats a huge improvement IMO.... keep up the hard work BI, GJ!!!!!

you are correct in my noobness.....and who said anything about BF.. that game does suck... how about instead of pointing out my noobish question, you just try to help... Thanks for trying I guess
