  1. as a combat vet...i'm not going to get in the prone unless i am actually getting shot at or I'm trying to ambush someone. the best cover you have is your rifle. nor am i going to say "hey there is a bad guy" ... then shoot.
  2. why is it that the AI does not use the MK19 grenade launcher properly? I am sure BIS has glanced at the manual in how to properly operate the weapon. Apparently the AI don't know what they are doing. I love watching my humvee or AAV just sit there staring at an enemy tank and not firing. IF a tank pulls up you let loos with that weapon system. also why do they fire one round at an enemy? Neg you use that full burst. the MK19 is a man killer.

    grenade launcher trouble

    nope they are good you just need some practice. i've hit a moving player directly with a grenade before ;). in real life you can't adjust the range settings. There is a type of optic they use in real life but it was useless and just added more weight to the weapon. also it was plastic and it would break.

    having served in Iraq and performing combat operations back in 2005. it's a heck of allot easier to shoot someone in real life than in the game...simply because you are in control. and by the way i was using iron sites too. you don't have that muscle memory like you do in real life. one thing is to note however is that I'm not going to stand there and hold a 240G at the ready. not going to happen. though one thing i like about arma II the guns don't make my ears ring and hot brass getting thrown at my face from the guy shooting next to me.

    Little ARMA 2 tips that help in a big way

    when you buy your AI set it up so they form a proper fire team. Fire Team Ready Assist. rifleman - fire team leader - automatic rifleman - rifleman. I usually use AT infantry but if set it up that way you will increase the death dealing capacity of your fire teams. always always try and have a vehicle providing over watch for your infantry. if they spot something, that vehicle will shoot at it from afar. example a tow system can reach out past 3 k. (not sure if it can in game but in RL it can lol) If you are leading a convoy of trucks to deal with a town. recon it with your binos and spot as much as you can before you command your trucks to move in. you should see a pretty light show as they tear up the town.

    I agree, That would be one heck of an interesting campaign. I'm American BTW and i would kill for BIS to come out with something like that.
  8. after I start arma2co and click on expansions tab...it shows that i have two copies of arma2 now O_o only one has a sig the other is blank......maybe it has something to do with BE not working.

    should be USA VRS Canada!!!!! :D Some of my ideas: *a scenario similar to the Falkland war but leaning heavily towards amphibious operations. (puts those snorkels to use on those tanks.) *fighting the growing terrorist threat in Somalia. involving mostly special operations and some ship raids out at sea. *Israel fighting Iran with support from NATO. Iran would also receive support from Russia. *another conflict erupting between Georgia and Russia.

    Grenades, buildings and ArmA 2

    I hate grenades. the problem in real life there is a chance you get a bad batch of grenades that will cook off in 1 second instead of 5. I had a few of these in Iraq and luckily never had to use them or i would probably not be talking to you today. if you want to clear a house use a mk19 or throw smoke grenades to suffocate them to death.
  13. in training i can load those rpgs twice as fast then they can in game and shoot them. The Javilin missile system needs the top down and direct attack modes. I'm not sure if i am allowed to give the maximum ranges for the javilins and tow weapons systems so i will not. Yes you can shoot a javelin in the prone in RL wire guided systems should have the random event of just slamming into the ground in front of you or flying off into space. (especially after driving over rough terrain)
  14. Has anyone noticed that the original CTI missions tend to be better then the warfare missions you see most of the time on servers? There are a few issues such as if you are commander and you build defenses they will not be automatically filled with AI, you have to build them yourself. I also think the view distance is not fixed but i could be wrong. There are plenty of minor issues that kinda make me go to warfare for multiplayer. The AI in the original missions seem to be much more effective also then warfare. I think the people hosting CTI should give the original CTI missions a shot again.
