graphics bugs with ATI 4800 series (4850/4870/4890)

Was having major problems with artifects and frame rates. Using ATI 4870 1GB and Q6600 @ 3.2 ghz. Everything was set to normal and no AA or AF. getting about 15 to 20 fps in campaing @ 1680 * 1050. Used all the tips, rename exe, ect ect. using Vista 64 on 4 gigs of ram. Noting worked. Upgraded to Windows 7. Playing on high settings with a average fps of 35 to 45. Forget about allthe tips,just upgrade to Windows 64 bit.
