CZech Army DLC isntalled. Lanuch AO/A2:CO CTD
zolop0 replied to zolop0's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
ah thanks. Solution... (Problem fixed) Update. After uninstalling Czech army DLC (OA/CO version 1.62) last night from windows control panel and reinstalling the DLC today on patched 1.62 it did work. IF anyone asked me how it got fixed technically in detail, I have absolutely no clue besides reinstalling DLC. Applications such as Arma 2 Series are incredibly complex and even games that are not simulations (Sword of the Stars 2, my current 2nd favorite besides Arma series). Also I cannot remember what language the EULA was because I wasn't paying attention. -

That is good sprocket lets us install many times for when one of its users encounters a technical error. Never did have a technical problem when I bought PMC from IDEA/BI/Sprocket, so this is the first time I've had a problem, to DLC. System information is as follows Win 7 64 AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Quad-Core ATI Radeon HD 6970s in Crossfire (2 6970s) 16gb System RAM I Would attach my DxDiag.txt but cannot find the option in this reply UI. I'll try re-downloading the file again from sprocket and see if the EULA is correct and install then launch the game again to confirm today. I'll try reinstalling the 1.62 after I install the Czech DLC. I'll also try taking out that DLL if none of the other suggestions work. Does Arma 2 CO Have a log for CTD events that I upload/attach to this reply? I'll try to user windows event view and see if i can upload that if that possible during the application crash. ---------- Post added at 08:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:27 PM ---------- Found the EVent log for crash from yesterday night Tried running the game 3 times, with different launch options (A2:CO, OA, A2). I Apologize as I don't know which event is for each different launch parameters! Possibly, until I can get confirmation that the A2_ACR_Setup_FULL will contain the English EULA on sprocket from the US (IL) FTP server. IT might not be the EULA, but I can try to rule out that problem try reinstalling with the englsih EULA. I cannot remember if I put in the CD Key first before I agree to the EULA or its after. If I put in my CD Key a few more times during new installations of the Czech DLC, prior to agreeing to EULA then Sprocket/IDEA Games/BI could deny my next activations? I know Adobe (I have CS3 registered key/installation under my real name and details) Product Keys have a set limit of key activations, not sure if sprocket works the same way. -

CZech Army DLC installed. Launching AO/A2:CO Crash To Desktop. I change to US(IL) FTP server during the first download from Sprocket, at the start of it. I just installed the CZech Army DLC. I noticed that my ELUA was in Czech at the last second after I clicked on "Agree" during the installation... As I started downloading the setup file from sprocket FTP I changed to the US (Illinois) FTP in the sprocket window on the second download. During the second reisntall the same Czech ELUA appeared. It did not ask me when I launched sprocket what server I want to download the setup file from. I have a feeling its related to the DLC using the Czech langauge install files, as I've seen CTDs from Sword of the Stars 2 CTD at launch related to the language settings, when I was on their forums Tech Support area. I noticed everything else was in english during my first and second installations of the Czech Army DLC, with the ELUA being only in Czech. -
Question related to one of the vehicles... Can I actually fit this vehicle in C130 Herc and transport it? It would be really cool part of the Herc if it could actually do this along with the LAV-25. If its said in the BI website will they be making a attachto script in the future for vehicles to do this as it said it on the official BI website?

The DLC does look good. Would it be possible to include another Czech airforce plane? Reference material is... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czech_Air_Force http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JAS_39 The community in A2 CO did great work already on a mod. It has been around for a while and is in a complete stage or nearly complete by other peoples standards. It has been tested by many people so the Quality Assurance step would be very easy to go through. in my opinion, for BI. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=13547 This in NOT my work! Just a thought, as this rewards the A2 CO community and all the authors who helped create the mod. Plus we all get to see one of the more advanced Jets of Czech in all its beauty (and the mod authors get credit for being a positive part of the community)! Its a Win, Win for everyone. Now that I think more upon this, it would be interesting to do something like this in the future for all DLC for A2 CO/A3 (nominate some complete QA tested Addons per army from BI/A2CO/A3 Community, within reason so it does not effect development BI games).

I hope they do the same and work on the other parts of the game that are more relevant to the aspects of simulating combat. I'd rather see more of what ACE did to Arma 2 CO, in terms of evolving the game to the modern military (Chem lights, weapon resting, Mid air refueling, EASA, backblasts, concussion blast, merging clips_no instant merging clips when reloading, etc) than work on the interiors of tanks to the point where its super realistic. As far as I know this is not mean't to be a tank game, nor a flying game, but they still put in a really good effort to simulate what they can in those areas. For example, tanks having the Shtora infrared ATGM jamming system, is something that is much more useful than having super realistic interiors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-90 Warning lights for lock-ons (pilots) and SAM indicators for pilots are needed much more though, similar to how ACE does it. If we can fly aircraft, countermeasures are required. Though Operation Arrowhead is good (A combination of ACE and OA would be the best sccenario), much better than vanilla arma 2 had (no radar nor countermeasures).

Agree that weapons need to be simulated better to their realistic counterparts. That also includes the armor of tanks and the impact of AT/RPG weapons on armored vehicles. They look like they did for the most part in the preview to A3. I haven't seen any launchers in A3 though. Currently you have to look for community mods until A3 comes out like the ones I mentioned below. Some of them should solve the Tab-Kill Madness in a realistic manner. Have you tried playing BE Warfare ACE? Its a much improved game if you combine it with the mods and the community made missions. The vanillla warfare by the game developers could've used more work in OA/A2 but you also have to remember they made entire campaigns for their games. If you've ever made your own missions you know how more than half the time you spend making the mission is playing it to find bugs/issues. If you don't still don't like the community made mods (ACE + BE Warfare) then you should try making a better one yourself. During arma 1 series warfare wasn't even in the game, it was originally made by the community members. I've edited some missions for my own personal use from warfare (basically added custom units to the buy window), its not too difficult. I like to use the ACE mod because it makes combat situations more challenging, gameplay more immerse, makes the players use more teamwork, etc. This is just constructive feedback, recommend next time making the topic, "How we can improve the Warfare gamemode" instead of starting on "Warfare Fails as a game mode". It will start the thread with a better starting point then just pointing out failures. I do agree that spacebar scanning is a problem, but in the parameters you can turn that off and set the difficulty higher so its not possible to do. If you use Mando Missile or ACE it might alleviate the problem of Tabbing to find targets instead of using the aircraft's HUD. I too do not understand a gamers logic of all games need to be like battlefield arcadey. I still would like them to bring back, like they had in A1, if you press the reload key, you reload an entire magazine, whatever rounds left in the previous clip are gone. You would have to press the "Merge magazines/clip" key to take the leftover rounds into a empty magazine/clip. I am glad with many of the changes with A3 though. I do agree their has to be a better than pressing tab to highlight a random close target. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avionics http://www.fighter-planes.com/info/f15.htm "The "identification friend or foe" system informs the pilot if an aircraft seen visually or on radar is friendly. It also informs U.S. or allied ground stations and other suitably equipped aircraft that the F-15 is a friendly aircraft."

Will these patches for OA only be released on the forums? I can't find this patch or any update (not server related) related to CO/OA on the official A2/OA Website under game updates. I do see PMC and British forces on the website though, just not anything related to client updates on the game website. -
Free advice for Bohemia Interactive on Arma2:Free
zolop0 replied to axure's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I don't agree with the OP and here is my constructive criticism. I like the way they made A2 Free version for new players because it shows the basic gameplay, the scale of the game and a free editor to make your own missions. I honestly wouldn't mind if countermeasures were added for A2 Free and A2 though they should have been in A2 from the beginning.in relation to everything else in OA, I hope they don't add OA content anytime soon, as it would be too soon to do the same to OA. Many people who bought the game at full price will be angry that they would've made OA multiplayer Free so soon. -
EDIT: Doh I missed the Official Co-Op missions my mistake. My post is not relevent! :)

Do I need the DLCs for Operation Arrowhead to play in most dedicated servers?
zolop0 replied to Sexy Fish's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Make sure you launch as Combined Operations it Enables both Arma 2 Content, OA Content and all the lite versions of all DLC. I have both, not from steam retail versions. The shortcut should be in your start menu near where the shortcut is for Operation Arrowhead. -
EDIT: Doh I missed the Official Co-Op missions my mistake. I agree it too it should be doable if there is multiple slots in the mission.
