@Sickboy. Mate I can understand your being upset given the huge amount of time and effort that must go into ACE. I don't for one moment want to slag off it, or any other mods or modders. The exact opposite is the case. I'd just like to see accessing this stuff made easier for computer dimwits such as myself. Sorry if that comes accross as moaning.

God bless that man Terox. I am a complete cock when it comes to techie stuff. The issue over not understanding mods and add-ons is the biggest source of frustration to me with ArmA 2. Does it really have to be so esoteric that us computer incompetents get excluded from all the extra content which I would LOVE to be in a position to access and enjoy?

If you have patch 1.05 installed you don't need the disk in the drive anyway

I use Medusa 5.1 surround sound. Excellent phones. Had them about five years with no probs.

I may be wrong here but wouldn't the problem with that be that zoom would be limited by the breath hold aspect? With key separate I can zoom for long periods on close-up or "iron" sights and then right mouse if I need a steady hand? Happy to hear views on this

Same problem here from time to time (usually after playing quite a while). Half fix for me has been to assign left windows key as zoom (easier to reach than number pad) but that doesn't hold breath.

Your problem is that most of the servers now require mods such as ACE. I play vanilla and am finding it increasingly difficult to find servers that I can join. I do wish BIS would include an option to filter out modded servers. You will either have to install the mod required by the server you want to join, or just keep searching for an un-modded server. Where servers require a mod, the name of the mod is usually part of the server's name: eg joeblogsACE2publicserver etc. Good luck :-)

Just a thought Magnum. Are you sure you are not trying to join mod servers? I play vanilla and have noticed an increasing number of servers require players to be runnung the ACE mod which means I can't join them

Thanks guys. I'll try the turn out thing. I did read the manual (was the first place I looked, followed by search on here but nitto). It's been said before - the supplied manual is pretty basic. Wolle I hope the thread title is OK. I was driving the MHQ today on an Evo mission. The 3rd person view wasn't working so I was 1st person "inside" the vehicle looking through the tiny rectangular window which I hate. At one point I ran off the road as I often do in that viewing mode and, when reversing/turning to get myself back on track must have pressed some keyboard combo by accident which gave a view that I have never encountered before. Instead of looking through the tiny, crappy rectangle, my view was as if sitting on the front of the MHQ but still in 1st person. Much easier to drive, stay on course and observervation of front field of view was soo much better. Problem is - I have NO idea what the combo of keys I accidentally pressed was but really want to get that view back in future. Does anyone know what I did - as in the key combo??? Help much appreciated

I'd try a reinstall of the game mate then play with settings/options. Loads of threads elsewhere on that. I have always had the same thing with the auto run as well. Shows as not installed. Odd

Stab in the dark, but if you have Creative card make sure EAX is set to "no effects"

I've been using it for a good while now without any probs - and it's perfectly safe
