If you haven't already done so (Install the beta patch)
Nosedive replied to chlywly's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Actually yes i did read the entire first page, and i didn't find the answers to my questions clear, don't be so presumptuous you vigilante forum-cop. -
How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??

To be honest, posting this poll in the bugs and troubleshooting forum is going to yield very slanted results towards a negative bias. The results can't be taken with any seriousness as a broad public opinion of the game. -

Notice the OP actually has a decent computer to start with. So just to clarify, this won't disallow me from playing on existing 1.03 servers will it? -
Hmm, i constantly get told i can't play it as i don't have the required addons, however i have all of them installed

cant find the right setting to that the game could run smooth!
Nosedive replied to Omer1000's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
The fun thing for me is that i have a big enough monitor so that my high resolution of 1680x1050 actually reduces aliasing itself, without having to enable AA. Often it looks as though i have AA enabled even though i don't. -

I have the stock cooler at the moment. My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. Thankyou for the links and sharing the third party cooler. As i'm moving from England to Australia soon, i wanted to hold off getting any more bits for my system, so i'll wait until i'm there to get a new cooler. Would the stock cooler really be so inefficient? Also about an hour ago i just realised, that when i installed some new nvidia drivers a few days ago, it re-enabled PhysX enhancement. I disabled it again, and voila, instant performance boost to the max. I assumed it was still disabled from the last time i turned it off. I reckon that was the reason for my performance issues afterall :) Thanks for your help, i shall continue to monitor this thread. -

My hardware is also almost identical to you guys. Mine is: 8800GT Q6600 2.40Ghz (Non-OC'd) 4GB Ram Vista64 My game is very jumpy, with frequent pauses every few seconds. I tried to OC my CPU (only slightly) once before just after i'd installed it, but my computer crashed and the hard drive had to be reformatted, so i've not dared risk it a second time. Seeing as you have the same one as me, could you advise me on how you OC'd yours please? -
Gunshots in this game are no where near as high-fi as they ought to be in my opinion. There's no kick, not enough use of bass.

You completely missed the point of my post

Ah thanks dude, sorry to be a bother. I'll have a google and see if i can figure it out if it's recommended. Thanks again :]

lol, to the people demanding previews on YouTube, this is a non-profit mod, this guy doesn't need to look for customers. So if you refuse to download it, you don't get a mod, and are missing out on additional, fresh content for your gaming experience. Who's really losing out?

What is the compatibility like with existing sound mods?

I'm not sure how to de-pbo something, is it not possible to upload the already fixed thing?

HiFi - Single Sound Modules (Weapons BETA released!!)
Nosedive replied to Mark XIII (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Thanks for the reply, Cole, i'll give that a try. Also, Oh_Heck, I have never encountered that quirk. You might have a unique thing. -

Hey Mark, Absolutely love your mod, proper sweet. However i'd like to report that in external view, at around maximum speed/throttle, i get extreme sound distortion, where the awesome vibration distortion from the engines turns into white noise. I'm unsure if it's my speakers or what, but i'm throwing it out there. Secondly, and this is definitely not my speakers, at maximum speed in the cockpit view, my engine roar sound starts to stutter, the faster i get, the faster the frequency of the sound stutter. It sounds like an old propeller plane engine that is on fire. I know this isn't my hardware because i can still hear other in-game sound, and that is fine. Unfortunately this is quite an annoying sound, and it really puts me on edge when flying, limiting the enjoyment. Thanks for continuing to distribute mods! -
Motion blur, bloom : make them options!

Good lord, this game is one hideous freeze-fest, i'm only on the third or so mission, and all i'm doing is walking a few steps and then waiting for about 8 seconds while the game locks up, then walking a few more steps and doing the same. My graphics settings aren't even that high, and i have a more or less high-end computer. Not impressed at all. -
Ah thankyou very much Mosh

Hey guys, i am a bit of a newbie to Arma2, having just bought it yesterday. I have followed the instructions in the DoW launcher readme as well as the instructions on the Armaholic FAQ, but i can't seem to get any mods to work in-game. Do i still need to play with the command line if i'm using a launcher? Sorry if this isn't in the right place. Thanks in advance :) Edit: I've discovered i need to highlight the mods on the launcher main page, I'm pretty sure that wasn't in the readme. Am i right in thinking i can only use one sound mod at a time in Arma2? That seems a bit odd, as i have one for helicopters, one for weapons and one for tracked vehicles.
