Advanced Combat Environment (A.C.E.) 2 - v1.0 stable
SnakeGRNET replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I didn't realize that Steam wasn't patching ARMA2 any more. 1.05 is downloading now. Thanks. -

I'm having an issue. When I start A.C.E. 2 i get an error that says "ace_c_vehicles requires ca_ah64d." Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? I'm running the steam version and installed ACE with Six Updater. Thanks. -
(Guide) Play Arma1 campaign on Arma 2 with CAA1 plus the OAC

Then you need to go back to school and learn English... On a different note... Great post nettrucker. -
(Guide) Play Arma1 campaign on Arma 2 with CAA1 plus the OAC
SnakeGRNET replied to Iena's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
You have to go on the OAC forum and ask them if you can be a beta tester. After you become a tester, they will let you play their closed beta if you report bugs to them. All you do is ask to be a beta tester. Then you play. Its that simple. I hope that helps. -
(Guide) Play Arma1 campaign on Arma 2 with CAA1 plus the OAC
SnakeGRNET replied to Iena's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Kju was saying that you can sign up to become a tester. If you don't get what this means, you can play test the campaign and report bugs to OAC. You just need to ask on the OAC forums to sign up for a tester position. :) -
(Guide) Play Arma1 campaign on Arma 2 with CAA1 plus the OAC
SnakeGRNET replied to Iena's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Simply put: It's not possible until someone converts the Arma campaign to Arma2. CAA1 is only the addons, but no campaign included. Sorry man. Maybe one day we WILL have the Arma campaign in Arma2. And to these guys that are being jerks: Leave the guy alone. He misunderstood Caa1 and thought he could play the campaign. Why don't you read the Caa1 readme in a language that's new to you? Oh wait, you can't?!? Glad to help you out Iena. :) -
A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Mod 2
SnakeGRNET replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I have to say that not allowing discussions on certain topics is very eletist (Def: (noun) those whose views on a matter are to be taken the most seriously or carry the most weight or those who view their own views as so) of you... I do think that the mod should be done the way you are planning, but conversation on alternative ideas should not be forbidden. As I said though, I think that the fatigue system in ACE is modeled well. His post was legit, though. That said, if you don't like his post or don't want to respond/argue to him personally, make a statement that says something like: "The current fatigue model is already defined and will not be changed. Thanks for you insight." I would like to see someone post their attempt at what Echo said to do! That could be entertaining. -
Arma 2 Addon request thread
SnakeGRNET replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
We need a simple conversion of MAP_Misc.pbo to aid in converting older missions for use in Arma II. I don't think this should be TOO difficult considering the things we could do with the results. :) It would be much appreciated. -
Scenario scripters, could you please post links to all Chain of Command-type CTI missions for single player in this thread. I think that creating a SP CTI database of missions that make use the commander role would be very helpful to myself and many other players.... Thanks for the help! Snake Edit: For instance, missions along the lines of Village Sweep, but on a larger scale.

GMJ Sight Adjustment for ArmA2
SnakeGRNET replied to noamles's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Could someone be so kind as to supply range cards for those of us who don't know how to make them ourselves? Thanks! It seems like I have to change the MOA to 20 or so to hit a target with the M24 at 750 meters so I'm a little confused... -
Are there any SP missions along these lines? or are there none completed yet... Thanks guys.
-
Sounds great to me... :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm0azEG0CPY Go to 5 minutes in and watch that. And note that it's not a rocket swoosh sound after they initial firing but the building falling apart... This as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L1kdptD30k Should sound pretty beastly imo... That last one is probably the best demonstration.

Ah much nicer, but the ?Colt .45? sounds a little quiet to me... Looking forward to the next version!

^5... Waiting eagerly, yet patiently!

Same here... :/ Nothing after the check boxes...

When I'm playing single player, everything is running just fine and dandy with almost all the settings assigned to very high, but whenever I try to play a game of multiplayer the game gets choppy and is unplayable unless i turn pretty much everything to medium-low. Is this normal? Phenom II x4 955 Ati Radeon 4890 4gb DDR3 @ 1333 Thanks in advance for the feedback!
-
Oh ok... But it still doesn't make sense to me as I play Single player at very high pretty much... Thanks guys!
-
Well the server's framerates wouldn't affect mine, would they? Its not that I'm lagging, but my FPS are down really low.
-
Oh ok I see... Hopefully BIS will have this patched up soon... Thanks Jack!

Non-blinding sun mod
SnakeGRNET replied to sakura_chan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
+1 I am completely agreed, Mr. Cash. :) Is there a way to just cut down on the radius of the effect? It does seem a little strong. I think cutting the radius to 65% of its current size would be nice. I don't know if that would be possible though. -
Vista Troubleshooting Thread: The one and only
SnakeGRNET replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hey guys, you have to be sure to run the game from the beta shortcut that's labelled as the Beta version. You can find it in the ArmA root directory in your Program Files folder if it's not in the start menu. Otherwise it will NOT run. Hope this helps my fellow Vista/Win7 users!
