    Arma 2 Sound Modding 101.

    Is there any way to look at the scripts of all of the Vanilla sounds for weapons? I am interested in uploading Sonic Cracks, Bullet Hits, and Ricochets. I am not fond with how you guys turn your cfg files into pbo's either lol

    SLX Mod WIP

    I'll let you guys know, that I have been sorting these issues out for a while now. And I keep finding false educated guesses, however. The only thing I can conclude now is that the SLX_NetCode is having arguments with the CBA code. This is not indeed a ACCURATE assumption, but since I am using the Computer Technician Handbook that my dad has on beta testing, and bug reviewing. I can only come down to the conclusion that there is a issue within SLX_NetCode, and the freeze crashing of SLX could most likely be the cause of an out dated Extended Eventhandlers package within CBA. IF this is not the issue, I highly insist that we get some testers on this subject immediately because I think I am on to something. I also advise some of you try to just turn on SLX_NetCoding and leave everything else in the Inactive PBO's folder. Including with running CBA [Required], and if the game crashes then I am sure then this would pretty much sum up my brief test on this matter, if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions let me know.

    haha, don't worry... I wasn't taking it as an offense, I may had replied a little bit brief. I was just interested in helping out, I have used these sounds in Insurgency which is very much like ArmA 2 environmentally, and I figured it would be a nice idea to take advantage of a time like this. I love your Sound FX regardless, its far more realistic than I was expecting since it was recorded from YouTube. I've listened to it, and I have noticed that the weapons that are fired have more of a traveling sound than mine did. And you could actually hear more Bing to the gun fire, I am loving it so far. I can't wait for an alpha or beta of this mod, I am stoked :D

    What all are the factions involved in this??? I can see the British Army and Royal Navy maybe... and I still see the Takistan. Will it still include the US Army, Marines, and German forces? Perhaps Russians too?

    Did you guys use my Sonic Cracks at all?? They are the real deal, not fake... and I have heard them in game before. They sound pretty intense, anyways I am liking a lot so far!!!

  10. Ok, so I have been interested for a while about implimenting the old PS2 game Socom Navy Seals into ArmA 2 for a while now. It does not seem too difficult at all, however the only things I would like to make are some some changes in the AI and a few little tweaks in stealth. As I have noticed, the old Socom game had been a little bit easy on players when they were in range of trees or in prone stance. They were also unaware of the target if they were in shadows or concealed with their movements. Another interesting idea of mine is to have alternating music depending on the increment of action. For instance, play slow and silent music while you are concealed. And once you have fired you may play some kind of action related music. Perhaps rock or metal or something that has some combat kick to it, and if you are engaged maybe play something that would make your heart beat faster. Practically these are some of the concepts that make a game more interesting, I have read that classical music makes you think better during game play or difficult tasks. Some of my ideas were to use some music from the Old Unreal game and maybe some from Socom itself. Old Unreal uses old European Dance music which is good for speed and accuracy. ::Some of the music:: *Good song for infiltration* *Engaged by the enemy* *Increment of action* *Intro 1* *Intro 2 : Sad or gloom* *Activation of nightvision* *Engaged or hunted*

    nope, it worked kindly for a day... and then it started freezing again. I think if we all down ground our CBA's then it should work. That was about the time when i began noticing it, and before the last CBA update it worked fine.

    ok an update on the crashing, I believe the solution is that if this mod is ran under OA it must require CBA_A2 regardless if OA supports it. I noticed the change in stability after it, and can you describe if it is possible to get rid of that annoying CBA_A2 not supported message lol

    Man this sounds better than JSRS!!! at least in my opinion. I still think that distant shots should sound a little bit different, but that is just me. Keep up the good work!

    I think people should try to port the Battle field Bad Company 2 weapon sounds, sonic cracks, and effects to ArmA 2. It would be a huge improvement to the war environment. Heck, I might be able to help do it my self... just get with me if you are interested!!!

    The SAS are very popular in Iraq and Afghanistan, I think if its anyone to fight... its them. I would like to see them fight together more often, it does seem like a very good strategy. Anyways, I thought this was funny though lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkbFP7iXPBg ~ it looks like one of those Tactical 3rd person machine gun vehicles that the SAS use. I love those, they were pretty brilliant for making them. Better hope a fucking camel spider does make a home in his butt lol!!

    Hear it from the enemy, our SOF are god like. And hear it from the Vietnamese ex- viet kong. They were afraid of them too, but there are other military groups in the world... and some secret agencies that may have better men there too. But I prefer saying the seals are some of the toughest men alive, it is certainly most acknowledgment to believe they could had easily killed a bunch of goat herders with guns.

    Yeah I have seen this mission, but to assure that you should know. The Navy Seals killed 96 Taliban and a maximum of 19 Seal units KIA. Our guys are tough, and regardless of the tension in a situation... they tend not to fail. But the idea is to free places from Taliban forces, it was really a marine or army mission. The navy seals are not meant to fight on top of little sand hills and dirt roads, I suppose what I should had mentioned was that the Navy Seals had not failed many missions during Vietnam. Which is the base time and environment I was concentrating on, if you can list me failed missions during that time of war I would be happy to accommodate the truth. But until then, I rest my case :D

    I'm tempted to say yes, but it would require more and more CPU usage which I highly doubt people would prefer worrying about. If you mean offline as well, then you should check out the Celery GTA 4 mod. It shows how costly of your computer it is xD

    Ok, I've updated the bug issue. It is actually not CBA, and if it is I can't give you many details. Anyways, I disabled the AI and enabled the Smoke puffs again. For some reason, the AI was crashing my game... I'll update you more on the situation.

    Well, I was really concentrating on the one key aspect of making the old socom team from the first game. But for bonuses I may use them, and for the enemy I might just take the Iranian Army mod?

    Neat man! I should be able to begin on the work soon enough... I should probably concentrate on the character models and textures ASAP. I don't know when I will finish this project, or if I will ever bring my self to that point. But I will update my information and production as I go, I'll be glad to help out if you need anything...
