Adding slots should be pretty simple I'm guessing.. - Open it in the editor - Add playable characters - Save as user mission - Open the description.ext - Change 30 to the number you need - Load it in the editor - Save to multiplayer missions - You're done

It does.. Had it happen to me plenty of times while "vote adminning" myself when there wasn't one on (clan server).. Get logged out the second someone uses the password.

You're right windowlicker, and I'm sure a large chunk of the AAS community feels the same way.. There was nothing wrong with the way loadouts were handled, and it didn't need to be changed. I do, however, appreciate what coolbox attempted and it's nice to see he still keeps on working to better his product! But this just wasn't it :) PS: Will be asking dky7 about changing back to the previous version, I know a lot of us at The Grunts Clan agree with you on this matter.

Making an "addAction" repeat itself??

Hi guys, I'm currently using Dr_Eyeball's team status dialog, and everything is working like it should.. The only problem I'm having is that whenever a player respawns, they no longer have the "Team status" dialog option in their action menu. Hi guys, I'm a little stumped on this: This morning I suddenly started desyncing like crazy on my clan's server, while this never happened before.. I have a constant ping of 30-40 while my desync sometimes goes up to the thousands (even when there are no high pingers playing). This is the first time this ever happened, and it started when I put my video settings up a little bit.. while I don't think this could be the problem, I instantly put them back to where they were before but it hasn't changed since. I even went as far as installing the boxed version (had steam before) but that didn't make a difference.. If it matters, system (laptop) specs and video settings:

Problems are fixed after hours of defragging / cleaning my system :D

Ofcourse you're allowed mate, always a pleasure to see your maps be passed along :) And no, I did not change the limit in the description.ext.. So I did keep your advice in mind, only thing that would need to be done is adding extra player slots (there are only 15 on each side atm) :) My clan currently also uses the alpha version of aas, looks good! The shortcuts take some getting used to, but all in all it's very well built. -
Fair warning: Most servers do not allow addons at this time, and some probably never will unless it's widely recognised as safe (ACE for example).. Every day I see people getting auto banned on servers that don't allow it, so I'd be ready for a limited amount of places where you'll be able to use those addons.

Plenty of mp maps can be found on armaholic.com or the user missions section on these forums.. If that's what you mean.. For editing purposes, get a de-pbo'ing tool (pboview) and extract a mission you'd like to edit (after asking the original creator).. Then open the in-game editor and go nuts.

Alright, I've always wanted to see how an AAS map would work an a large scale, so I decided to give it a go and see how it would work out. I'm hoping to get opinions, tips, advice, etc from you guys, seeing as this is only a test.. I do know that not a lot of servers out there offer 100 player slots, so I made sure the distances didn't go over the top and added enough transport to ensure a rather fast trip to each zone.. So it should be playable with 30 players aswell. Like I said guys, just a test.. I had my own doubts about a large scale AAS mission, but it never hurts to check :) Personally I like my aas games to be CQB aswel, but with my clan's 100player server around the corner I'm trying to find ways to implement our favourite game mode (aas) into that amount of players (which is hard, simply because A LOT of stuff / areas has been done before).. Thanks for the feedback, and I'll be heading back to the drawingboard :D -

So there are now two version available. I used Coolbox's amazing version of AAS, and turned it into one of my own (if you can call it that). Updates: V1.01 now released! My clan has been playing this map a lot lately, it has a great CQB atmosphere to it.. Defenitly worth a try for anyone that likes close quarters combat :) -

Didn't realise that mate, but I will keep it in mind :) I turned it into a 30player map because I thought the setting was fairly small to hold more than that ammount, but I'll defenitly keep it the way it is for a bigger setting. @Ziggy: Was thinking the same thing, and I will be trying that within the next couple of days (not home at the moment) :) -

Well, just a topic to discuss the AI's GOOD things.. I know plenty of you have issues with the AI and how they respond to situations at times (so do I), but I have found that some things make you think: "Damn, this isn't so bad after all". Here's something that I came across during domination: We were in the midst of capturing a town (don't recall which one), when one of my clan mates got killed and told everyone that a small group was advancing outside of town. Me and another clan member were driving an MHQ towards his last know direction when suddenly all hell broke loose: We saw a small group (had to be the ones we were informed of) in the distance and decided we'd just drive past them and get to where we were supposed to be (not wanting to risk losing the MHQ), the only problem was that they didn't agree with that decision.. Next thing we know a rocket is hurling towards us, hits the tires and incapacitates the MHQ, forcing us to exit the vehicle.. Bullets flying everywhere, with the AI determined to take us out. We had 3 infront surpressing us, 2 on each side (left and right) trying to take us out and 2 others trying to come up behind us.. There was no way we were going to make it out of there alive, we were pinned. This was defenitly one of the better moments I experienced while playing this game, and the AI defenitly showed great intelligence here.. Thank god we had backup on the way :D

MHQ did survive, yes.. It was probably caused by the fact that me and my teammate got out of the vehicle, they all concentrated their fire on us, not the mhq. -
My votes: - Capture The Flag - Capture & Hold - Other: Small scaled aas maps are usually pretty damn fun, they offer intense action and force people to work as a team.

My clan usually runs 30player domination, with PvP (aas most of the time) on tuesday and thursday against anyone that joins (for training purposes).. Soon, we'll offer two 100 player servers (1 COOP, 1 PvP) :)
