Hey, actually you can do quite a lot with the AI. Maybe you´d like to check out this AAS-AI-Guide. -

Well, AAS1.1 already contains ProMode and "normal" AAS missions, both. Basically it´s just an Addon-Compilation. It´s your choice ingame if you choose a ProMode or a normal AAS-Mission. If you´re interested in MP-Gaming you don´t need to care about these Missions at all as you get them from the servers you join anyway. The missions are only required if you want to check them out alone (or for hosting a MP-Game of course). If you want to do so in combinations with ACE2 then you should use this ProMode-Mission-Set -> http://dev-heaven.net/attachments/download/6182/A_S_ProMode_2010_05_31_ACE2_as_default.7z -

Cool, Until today I wasn´t aware that "AAS plus ACE2" even existed and I don´t know on which AAS it is based on. Only AAS ProMode has official support for ACE2 by now. AAS and AAS ProMode are two differents things as well but we´re working together at least. Both are part of the Installer-Package V1.1 and can be downloaded separately in newer versions: AAS Complete Mission-Pack V1.11 AAS ProMode Final June 2010 Original AAS supports up to 100 Players and Large scale battles close to the original AAS-game-concept coming from Novalogics Joint Operations. ProMode is inspired by the AAS-Gameplay-Idea and developed independently by kju and offers one million more features (some of them I´d love to see in original AAS) but only supports 20 players and is made for league-gameplay. More Information is available on www.advanceandsecure.com -

@SAbre4809 Can you please add the "aas.key" to you server? Even if you don´t run it, people get confused that they can´t join an AAS-Server after they´ve just download one gig. I also suggest you should add "AAS" to your server name, because that´s the wording in all our guides and support-posts. It just helps you to get recognized and added on aas.com as well. @AAS and ACE2 AAS delivers an outdated version of CBA, so to avoid conflicts with the newer one ACE2 needs and delivers ensure that you´re running @AAS BEFORE @ACE2 in your Mods-Commandline! -

ACE2 is NOT part of the AAS Addon-Installer-Package anyway and needs to be downloaded separately in any case! Please note that only AAS ProMode offers support for ACE2 which is developed indepently from the Main-AAS for League- and competetive gameplay within the AAS-Network. AAS ProMode is designed for 20 Players max therefore. Even if AAS ProMode supports ACE2 and other Mods like the BWMod, it does not mean that they´re required. That´s completely up to the Host. Learn more about ProMode in the Wiki. You can find all relevant information about where and how to play AAS on www.advanceandsecure.com . Here´s a list of AAS-Servers and Addons they allow/require. For a complete list of all AAS Servers including AAS ProMode with ACE2 type "AAS" in your Arma2-Server-Browser! -

MP on maps with grass and foliage. What do you think?
BCA Cat Toaster replied to RogueBlade's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I love the grass and as everyone knows how it works in ArmA2 he should be able to act accordingly. I haven´t heard of one single AAS-Server yet - not even in Tournaments or Leagues - that disables it. If you´re going for cover, you need a bush, tree, treetrunk, wreckage or stone, but not grass. Grass can be great if you´re right in front of your enemy, why one should remove that? Removing "cover" that is ineffective on 200m+ just completely? "Remove" cover completely that´s not working anyway? Sounds just weird for me and looks even worse... -
What he meant was, that "AAS kicks ASS" and that it is coming from Novalogics Joint Operations, that was released before BF2 btw. ;-) Another great thing is, that you don´t have to set up any kind of updater for playing AAS. Just get the Installer and you´re almost done, just search for AAS in your ArmA2-Server-Browser.

This really gets to me?!
BCA Cat Toaster replied to monz-reality's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
So "Advance and Secure" is really made for you! You can read about it here in the BI-Forums as well. First you should download the "AAS-Advance and Secure Addon Package V1.1" to ensure that you´re compatible with all AAS-Servers out there. Just type "AAS" into your ArmA2-Server-Browser for a complete list if AAS-Servers or click here for server details. -

Guess you´re talking about ProMode AAS (former PvPScene) as Core-AAS has no artillery-support. I´m sorry but I can´t you help you here, kju is the man in charge for this. -
Lack of PvP in Oz (Zero PvP in Oz)
BCA Cat Toaster replied to 76's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Hey Freeborne, I´ll post a news about this event on www.advanceandsecure.com . Maybe I´m allowed making a suggestion: 20 Mins is way too short. Please give it at least 30 mins if not the default 45. For players that like to play as a team and tactical it takes a lot of time - some minutes - to get into a good attack position with a squad. If you loose an objective you almost don´t have time to get it back. With just 20 minutes I wouldn´t think of doing anything else than just defending, ending up in a stalemate deatmatch around circles. One more thing: I noticed that you want to play a mission called "Utes Brutes" which is not part of the more than 100 Missions-V1.11-Release yet and therefore might run with outdated versions of AAS-Scripts with old bugs and missing the latest features and improvements. For the best experience I suggest using the missions from the latest Release (V1.11/r554) -> http://dev-heaven.net/projects/coolbox-aas/files As long as you host only AAS-Chernarus-Missions no Addon is required. However to avoid kicking people that are joining with the recently released "@AAS"-Package enabled (even if it´s not being used) you should consider adding the AAS.key to your server as it might confuse players being kicked from an AAS-Server with the AAS-Addons enbled. If they aren´t used anyway, they can´t hurt. -

hmm, strange. Maybe has nothing to do with AAS in particular but however, we´ll take a closer look at it. If you don´t mind, please zip your RPT and mail it to me (after you tried connecting to one of the Basecamp-Servers) -> info@advanceandsecure.com -

Hey RogueBlade Sorry, it´s not exactly clear from your description: Are you using the Exe-Installer that creates the proper Shortcut for you or are you using the 7z-File? I suggest using the Installer whereever possible. What´s the exact error message you get? Can you please try to connect to one of the Basecamp-AAS-Servers (and tell me which one), so I can look up the servers Log-Files? Maybe I can find something there. Please have also a look at your own RPT-File -> http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/RPT#ARMA_2 -

Just updated the initial post: "AAS-Advance and Secure" Complete Mission Pack V1.11 As promised one week ago the separate pure AAS-Missions-Release featuring different Rulesets for Hosts with and without enabled AI is today. There´s also a new feature for Mission-Designers that allows to place Flags at different elevations now. It fully supports/requires the earlier Addon-Package Installer V1.1 Release (read below!) We also made a Ruleset-Cleanup, this release Features a new "Default Ruleset" and two popular Community-Rulesets (Armacalypse and ArmA2.ru ). I´m also thankful for the following new missions made by Armacalypse-Community-Members that we are allowed to add as well. These missions are new/updated in this release: •Armcalypse Now (Duala) •Battle for Zappado (Panthera) •Broken River (Panthera) •Coastal Roads (Panthera) •Dunes Reloaded (Panthera) •Jalovisko Disko (Namalsk) •Lake Ukane (Panthera) •Saint Pierre (Everon) •SnowEPass (Namalsk) •Strike@Lesce (Panthera) •Tara Bridge Sweep (Namalsk) •Town Rush (Panthera) •Village Run (Panthera) Get more than 100 AAS-Missions now! (For Hosts/Mission-Designers, Clients get the Missions automatically while joining a game) -
Maybe try the "AAS-Advance and Secure" game-mode. Works quite good in public environments.

AAS is a Multiplayer-Mode but if you enable the AI-Support you can even play it a alone while the CPU controls your Team-Mates and the enemy team. The AI is able to play AAS on it own and you can just sit back, make your bets and watch them. -

Go for it qwertz! Personally I would prefer a "How to play AAS"-Guide first as I don´t see any lack of missions that are more a matter of taste than actually good or bad ones. -

Hi qwertz! Just made a rough update on our AAS-Roadmap. So if you or anyone else likes to see his AAS-Mission as a part of the pack he should send it over to me. You could also post at our Forums and show us what you did. It can of any of those Addons released with our V1.1 Installer. Remember: Don´t touch the Scripts, only mission.sqm, initsaas.sqf and mapname.hpp should be modified (or it at least it should work without other modifications). That´s the only I thing we ask for to remain consistent. -
ACE2 AAS or Cooperative?

Nice! With CAA1/Sahrani aside it should be even easier. Did you had to change anything AAS-Specific (not mission.sqm)? -
ACE2 AAS or Cooperative?
BCA Cat Toaster replied to JuggernautOfWar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
100% agreed galzohar, we just can´t throw ACE2 at First-Time-ArmA-Players as it is right now. If you come from outside the ArmA-Universe installing and configuring YAST is not really an easy task, at least not for me. I´d love to see people just starting the game and hopping on a server. Honestly I don´t know of any major game-breaking incompatibility with AAS and ACE2. Seems it´s complicated for one who already installed ACE2 to just start up an AAS-Mission as well in LAN and see what happens. Of course it won´t use any special assets but you should be able just load an AAS-Teamplate and start building your own ACE2-AAS-Mission in five minutes. Since the 1.0 Release of AAS people kept asking for ACE2-Support in AAS and I was asking back "Whats the problem, error message, what´s not working/conflicting". I got nothing back for months. It´s not that I hate ACE2, I just don´t have the time and resources to find out everything myself and if people want it so badly then I don´t understand why no one who has installed ACE2 already is able to download and start a 700kb-AAS-Mission in LAN and just tries it in combination and tell us the issues? As Sickboy just said: We can´t fix problems we aren´t even aware of and we can´t test everything ourselves. Maybe there are no AAS-ACE2-Servers because there´s just no one interested in hosting this combination yet? -
ACE2 AAS or Cooperative?
BCA Cat Toaster replied to JuggernautOfWar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Yes, kju will add optional support for ACE2 for ProMode AAS (which is limited to 20 players btw). For "CoolBox AAS" it won´t happen anytime soon. It simply does not fit in our "Multiplayer Easy" concept with its update-handling and lack of accessibility and usability as long as we can´t put it in our simple to use installer and it needs regular updates. We´d like to keep it simple for getting new players into the ArmA2/OA-Boat. As soon as AAS-ProMode will support ACE2 we´ll see how high the demand really is. -
