ARMA2 is great but --> What we need is...
BeardPI replied to gareththomasnz's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Have you looked in the secret editing section? http://forums.bistudio.com/forumdisplay.php?f=92 It has a lot of links to the wiki with heaps of info, should be what you are looking for. Hope this is helpful to you. :) -
Theres a thread in the Official Missions section that tells you everything you need to know. IIRC the weapon cache actually isn't one of the evidences though.

I use xfire, but not for Arma 2 because ingame doesn't work, and it doesn't even detect the game as running. Unless the games list file is modified for the retail version it can only detect the Steam version. Hence the Xfire figures for Arma2 are WRONG anyway. Of course there will be more people playing if only the Steam users are counted.

This really ticks me off..no information..

viewdistance and other dissapointments
BeardPI replied to arma2disapointed's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I want the ridiculous pop-in of trees when you zoom in and out on them to go away. The LOD scaling in this game is shocking. They need to be either fully drawn all the time, or have less leaves (not going to happen). It's annoying and stupid that branches seem to magically appear and disappear for no reason. I hate also how I can see enemies walking in a field but can't order my men to attack because they are out of range for spacebar to pick up. -
I haven't played that much to notice many things like this, but I was playing Manhattan earlier and could hear that civilian radio announcement about Red Square from a ridiculous distance while I was fighting chedakis in the forests. Also occasionally can hear the chedaki squads talking and it seems like they are right on top of me and thne I get shot from 150-250 metres away. :(

I <3 floating zone. It lets me aim at a guy leading a group on the edge of the screen without losing sight of others. Sometimes it annoys me a bit when I'm not in a fight and am just trying to look around, but its fantastic when it counts.
-
The armoury in Manhattan is the pile of crates under the camo netting behind Shaftoe. It's got ammo and guns.

Yeah I've found that sometimes they can be injured from jumping out of the helicopter from too great a height, but I am unable to order the corpsman to heal. If I switch and heal them manually they STFU.

Understanding 6 digit map coordinates for dummies help?
BeardPI replied to jblackrupert's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
That's right except in arma the Y coordinates go from top to bottom, instead of bottom to top... 123456 2 3 4 5 6-----X -
I haven't tried myself yet but is it possible to use the mission wizard to randomly generate a suitable one, the same way as it's done for SP?
-
Yeah, Relic's Company of Heroes games have this and probably some of their others. It's an awesome method.
-
Huh? Interface resolution = resolution Render resolution = fillrate So set both of them to 800x600. Isn't this right?

Hire military people to do your voice acting.
BeardPI replied to nyran125's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
No they do not. Also, it's what they say that matters, not how they say it. I don't mind the acting at all in this - sure it sounds odd sometimes but it's acceptable given they aren't English speaking devs. I love the intro of the trial by fire mission. :D
