Just got it installed. Great work! Really something special. I especially love the map. I can see myself losing many hours to playing this. I hope to see more from you guys in the future. This is fantastic work!

I've never bought a Valve game, never had any software from them on my computer and have no plans to ever buy a game buy them. I have become increasingly sick of the amount of games by non-valve companies that demand a Steam account in order to play it. Not one of the apparent benefits of Steam are, in any way, important to me and I dislike being forced into allowing software by a third party onto my machine - especially when I've bought a game from a shop or some other source. Whether many of the stories I hear about Steam are true or not I don't know and I don't care. I'm well aware that many people love Steam, and that is great for them but for me this is about my freedom of choice, and I choose not to have Steam on my machine. Why the hell should a portion of my money go to Valve for the privilege of controlling and tie-ing my account and game playing to them? Now, I have no problem with ArmA being offered on Steam as long as I can get a version that I can use and play without Steam being anywhere near my computer. If you decide to make it only playable via Steam then I'm afraid that the current game is the last one I'll buy from you. ArmA is one of a select handful of games that still appeals to me, and I would find it a tremendous shame if I could no longer play it, but I simply won't be forced into using Valve's system.

Because for a very large part of yesterday the download speeds via the direct link were running so slow you would have been quicker developing the software yourself. If it's running faster now then that's great.

Anyone seeing any improvement in performance on the OA maps? Seems to me things are a little smoother.

My pleasure - it was doing my head in too (not least because of my tooth.) I will say it looks like a bit of a screw up on their part but they helped me get it fixed. Nedley has posted this info on the board as well and it would be very nice if the mods could possibly sticky it? -
I've posted this in the DLC thread as well. This actually works. Well, for win 7 64 at least. Got dl speed of 12 meg as well, which is pretty good!

Thanks to the support staff and others I finally got it working. If anyone else has the missing dll problem go to this link: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/fix-msvcp71-dll-and-msvcr71-dll-missing-error-in-windows-7/ and follow the instructions. I think Nedley posted the fix somewhere else. This works. I'd also like to thank Jan Kunt at Sprocket for helping me get this working. I'm off work with a chronic infection of an abscess in my tooth. This hasn't really helped my recovery...lol. -

You didn't have a problem with a missing MSVCR71.dll file then? Mine is still not working even though I have downloaded that file from several locations. I'm sure the sprocket folder works fine but i'm guessing that I don't have it because of this dll thing. OK...lets cut to the chase as it appears I'm a moron. What steps do I need to go through. I go to the download page and I download the 'downloader' file which is 276kb....after that what is supposed to happen? Is there something else I need to download first? Is there some step I'm missing here? I wish I'd known this was available on Gamers gate. Never had a problem with them. -

Same as the guy above. No Sprocket folder, nothing. No return from a search on BAFsetup. All I have are the sprocket exe thing which keeps telling me that I need a file which I now have but doesn't seem to work.... -

At what speed? I cant even get their download helper thing to work and the direct download is so slow it's silly. -
Any idea whether the BAF DLC includes the patch or will we have to download both?
