  1. So this is a problem I've seen come about in many missions for other people but it's the first time it's happened for me. Anyway, all my objectives are complete. I've secured all the towns, captured 2/2 evidence by talking to the abused civilians and I've just finished saving the village Vishnoye or whatever from the warlord. The mission won't end though even though all my tasks are green and accomplished. The only thing I didn't do was I didn't kill the priest. I ignored that mission by telling the CDF general that we had our "signals crossed" and he misunderstood me when he thought I was asking to kill the priest. I have the latest version of the game. i'm currently standing at Point Oranges scratching my head...why won't this mission end?
  2. I use a dvd based version of ArmA2, not steam, so i have to install patches and battleye manually. This is fine, however when I go to the battleye website to install it, the file doesn't unzip on my computer. It tells me to save the file in the battleye folder under my arma2 directory, but I did that and it doesn't seem to do anything. I am getting booted from servers because battleye is either not running or not updated. Can someone please take the time to give me some slow steps to saving and opening battleye in the correct location (and how to get to that location)? I would be very thankful! P.S. when I try to "open" the battleye download folder, it simply refreshes the popup which asks open, save, or cancel. I press open and the popup refreshes again. I don't think I can open the battleye download file. I tried making a folder to save the dll into, but it hasn't installed battleye...am I not finding the Arma2 Install directory???

    Badlands

my only problem with this mission is that when you run out of 5.56 ammo, the ammo trucks can only resupply with 7.62 AK ammo :(
  4. so somehow during the mission "Badlands" i've managed to make it so that my Razor squad regroups/follows eachother, but not me. I give them the regroup order, but they regroup on themselves and not me. I say regroup and they say "all follow 2," or "all follow all." How do i command them to follow/regroup on me, not them? Also, as a followup question, i occasionally somehow make the game so that it changes my command HUD to waypoints, and my units are replaced by blue rectangles with lines in them. I turn into a waypoint commander or something. is there a way to reset this as well? Note that these two problems don't happen at the same time or usually in the same mission. Thanks!
  5. usually bullet sounds seem instant, but i've been shot and even killed before i heard the gunfire before. I think it's just a design flaw. But over most distances you will see the gunfire before you hear it.

    How old are Arma2 Players?

I'm 18. I love the realism. Even if my computer can't run ArmA 2 with the same graphical beauty and physics as games like Call of Duty (or probably even the new Operation Flashpoint game) I appreciate the intensity of the combat and the sounds of the weapons SO much more.
  7. sorry guys i'm fairly new to the forums and very new to ArmA2. Got it 2 days ago. After I download a new mission, what are the steps i take to extracting/installing and accessing it as a playable mission in ArmA2? Thanks.

Tell me this didn't just happen.

Maybe the UAV overhead saw you ;) or the AC130 maybe? Or maybe the AI is simply messed up...bingo!
  9. would I run this on an hdx16t with T9900 processor, 4 GB DDR2 RAM, and a GT 130M graphics card? I don't care if the details aren't exactly "pretty," so long as the gameplay functions decently.

Your favourite vehicle in ARMA 2

Um...obviously the Cobra attack chopper...or any of the game's gunships. They all go well with "Flight of the Valkyries!"

    The need for Afghan mountains

I don't think a game campaign playing as a German soldier in WWII would be good, since they represented a government that was sending millions of civilians to their deaths simply for being different.

How do I end Village Sweep?

what's so frustrating about all this isn't the bugs, nor the lack of mission direction, but the combination of both! You don't know whether or not something is wrong with the mission or you just aren't following orders. That's the flaw. In other games it is easier to tell when there's a bug or a glitch.

    Help needed for Harvest Red

I would love to rip this game for all the bugs right now, but the fanbase is so loyal that I would somehow be considered a troll for being outraged that a full priced game with years of development has been released in practically unplayable state. It's outrageous. If ANY other game on the market was released with this many bugs it would be trashed...somehow you guys feel that you deserve to put up with these bugs more than anyone else in the gaming world and that's not right. It's one thing to put up with the bugs...for a full priced release, I think it's silly but okay...but it's another thing to scream "troll" at everyone who's had it up to *here* with unplayable SP.

    ArmA2 - The Xbox 360 thread

well the game world is vast, and the graphics are very pretty, there's a high level of interactivity with the environment, buildings and terrain, there's a complex map editor, there's a large multiplayer component...I really don't think the Xbox would be able to handle this unless it was a stripped down and ugly version.

    dfgfdgfd

I don't mind intelligent comments, OP, and yours made sense. Don't worry, this isn't a Halo forum where we trash anyone with a different opinion. It's just that this game is very obviously a dedicated war/strategic combat simulator, and the kind of FPS games you like...aren't. That's not a bad thing. It doesn't make you any less of a gamer-- I mean, at the end of the day, this IS still just a game-- but these aren't for everyone. In real combat, you don't run and shoot. Things like that just don't happen. It is a much slower paced game.

The Corpsman is a Sailor, not a Marine

Nope. Corpsmen are sailors. The Marines get all their docs from the Navy. She might just be unfamiliar with the specifics, considering her HUSBAND is the sailor, not her. Many corpsmen do ride with the Marines, so that's probably the reason she's confused.
  19. all I can hope for is that by the time my new computer comes, the game will be stocked (finally) at a retailer I trust like Best Buy. i really want a hard copy. ---------- Post added at 08:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:00 PM ---------- There are two factors as to why the game is so hard to get in the U.S. a) developer is crazy European ;) b) developers chose an obscure publisher

How Stupid is your squad? Keep it Fun

my chopper pilot decided to exit the loaded vehicle hundreds of feet in the air over a dense forest.
  21. this might sound strange, but with all the glitches, all the bugs, all the single player AI flaws that sometimes break the game for us...well...don't hurt me, but I think this feels like a budget title with a talented design team and fancy graphics, but a budget title still. I mean, even the death animations and blood effects look like something out of the original Ghost Recon. Dialogue is laughable...not just the way sentences are pieced together word by word (I understand why this is in a mil sim) but the voice acting and scripted sentences are weak.

    I like this game but...

well the great thing about games like this, especially on the PC, is that multiplayer really shines through. The single player gives us a love/hate state of affairs...but the multiplayer is almost always gold.

    ARMA 2 worth buying?

also ask yourself even if you can run the game, are you going to be OK running it with low settings? I game on a laptop, and although it's maxed out with quad core mobile extreme processor, 4 GB hdd3 ram, my vid card is only a gt 130m. Pretty solid, but I can't run this baby on max settings. Luckily the gameplay is fun and makes up for the reduced quality.
  24. seriously, this game is almost impossible to find a retail DVD copy in the U.S. I blame Bohemia for picking an obscure publisher to market their game in the country that purchases the most video game and multimedia entertainment. Not a single best buy has the game, wal mart and target have never heard of it. And best buy has it back ordered online. You people asking why in the world we would use steam instead of a hard copy? BECAUSE the HARD COPY is IMPOSSIBLE to FIND. I guess I could order the disk for delivery. Anyone know why it's so hard to find, even in best buy?
