  1. Sorry to go off-topic - But this post just made me literally LOL :)
  2. This is just me pulling something out of thin air here but it's not related to the server configuration file having the 'requiredBuild= xxxxx' setup? The User/Client might not be running the version of the game that is set in the 'requiredBuild' statement of the server? (e.g. client might be connecting using 'example' 869444 where your requiredBuild=858500

Robalo is correct in what he is saying. You're server mods might be out of date in comparision with what one or serveral of your users will be running (It happened on one of our servers and it was down to one of our game servers being out of date (our ace, cba etc wasn't updated - we forgot to do it ;) )
  4. Thank you for the PM Sickboy, which I will respond to shortly (at work and need to get a project I'm working on underway).
  5. Could someone (probably an ACRE Dev) elaborate on the following messages I've found in a recent server RPT file SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S34 ID: ACRE_PRC152_ID_3 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S6 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S34 ID: ACRE_PRC343_ID_6 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S10 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S34 ID: ACRE_PRC343_ID_19 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S41 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S59 ID: ACRE_PRC152_ID_18 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S61 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S59 ID: ACRE_PRC152_ID_24 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S76 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S59 ID: ACRE_PRC343_ID_20 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S14 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S59 ID: ACRE_PRC343_ID_37 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S78 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S59 ID: ACRE_PRC343_ID_42 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S9 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S74 ID: ACRE_PRC152_ID_21 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S77 SERVER TRIED TO GIVE S78 ID: ACRE_PRC343_ID_6 EXISTING ALREADY FOR S21 This is running with ACRE v1.3.16
  6. @svenson - You have my vote and hope the author will be able to release the source so someone like yourself can continue with providing update. I'm still an avid user of the software (especially for addon management) - I just find it easier to use than SIX-Updater (especially for server mod addon management for the group I'm with)
  7. Congrats fella's - Looking forward to it :)

Works fine here with the latest update provided by the link Algrab has shown.
  9. My goodness - That look like's someone who works at the Development Studio I work for - Must be twins :D
  10. I'm presuming that this issue would delay the current beta/patch as there must be many variables to consider for this particular fix, and one where testing feedback will be really required (to ensure there are no anomalies) - I see this one going back and forth over several beta's. This is all just presumption on my part as I'm no coder. I do hope that it's on the list for a patch after 1.6 though :)
  11. I'm all for delays to a patch release if there's further tweaks/amendments/changes that can be included for the better :) *thumbs up here*
  12. You saved our bacon :) I'm out of town in a few hours until late tomorrow evening, and with our JointOP occurring on Sunday, wouldn't have been able to update our mods until late tomorrow evening (cutting it fine for the potential 60+ we are likely to have attending). I can now update this now and still have time to head out of town :)

    RKSL Merlin HC3 BETA Release

This 'page' will be of relevance to the issue http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=103871&page=35
  14. Brilliant! That would be fantastic :)
  15. Thank you Sickboy. I neglected to state that we also run our own mod (with various other 'mods' within). We think we've identified it down to RKLS (possibly the Merlin) - We'll contact the RKLS chaps to see if anything can be done :) Thank you for response!
  16. I'm hoping you gents could give me pointers as to where I can resolve an issue with the following error being received after updating CBA, ACE etc today This issue crops up when selecting a mission from our mission selection screen (shortly after selecting the player slot, and selecting continue) Script Extended_EventHandlers\Init.sqf not found ACE 502 CBA 163 ACEX 341 ACRE 1.3.7 [build 439] Any idea's/pointers as to where I should be looking to resolve this I'd appreciate it.

Will ArmA 2/3 ever meet OnLive?

I believe they have different subscription offerring (at least from my understanding). Btw - Homefront was only 1 of the titles mentioned - I couldn't discuss anything else as I'd be breaking NDA. In any case - Yes I do believe its more competitive against the Console market but I'm sure over time as tech progresses they may possibly just cater for the PC market (hindsight would be useful right now). As for the systems they use - I do know they are in the process of updating a majority of their systems - I was surprised to hear the equipment they use now, and the equipment they plan on running in the future :) @Suma - From a DEV point of view and the graphics side - Yes I believe some form of common graphics settings is set between the 2 companies (Onlive & Publisher/Developer) as there is an option to change that. Like I said - All in all, someone mentioned the couch potato - It'll be a great platform/service in my opinion - Won't be to everyone's taste but that is life, and everyone is different and have their own opinions :)

Will ArmA 2/3 ever meet OnLive?

I've actually had the pleasure of seeing Onlive in action recently, and have to say before this was shown to me I was sceptical about it all. However after seeing it in action (at our office where I work) and going through some of the techincal information with the Onlive staff I was pleasntly surprised at how well it works/runs. Unfortunately I can't go into any details due to NDA's but I have to say from our office kit it's been something that has been of a postive experience so far. I plan on taking the kit home and trying it from my own connection and seeing how it functions. For those wanting to know Onlive from and FPS perspective - I watched/tried Homefront and it seemed to have worked pretty well - It felt slightly slower than a PC but only slightly and nothing that would spoil any fun at all - The grreat thing is that you can either use the provided Joypad or Keyboard/Mouse. As for the connection - It felt great - The data doesn't utilise more than 7Mbps, and requires I believe a min. of 5Mbps Internet Connection (it could possibly go lower). The main issue I see for people will be there internal connections (ensuring that its not being saturated by other services in the home using the connection and hogging bandwidth); as well as having a reliable connection :) Obviously with a game like ARMA I really think it would depend on both BIS/Onlive working together, especially in terms of getting better Threaded processes (e.g. AI) spread across the cores - It could possibly work but I'm not the best person to make that assumption :)

The 3 things that decide if I will buy ArmA III

I personally hope BIS have time in their schedule to spen on 'Polishing' the game. I understand it's difficult in the industry but when time can be found to sort out the 'minor' issues that don't break the game but make the game much more pleasurable the result and general review from customers will be noticed. (coming from someone who works in the games industry and have had a release where 'polish' time was something that was implemented in one of the versions; really proved its weight in gold/worth).
  20. I've not encountered freezes lasting as long you've described. I have however (prior to the latest version, as I've yet to see it) encountered momentry pauses (for a fraction of a section) while the 'weather/time sync' occurs within the mission. This has been noticed by others too while on the same game/mission as myself.
  21. I can't wait to get this tested with our group, and eventually the JointOP both our group and another attempted the other week (around 60 people). *fingers crossed*
  22. A good set of questions all round d3nn16, and one I'm sure most arma server administrators would sorely welcome :) I do hope that at least some of these can be responded too officially.
  23. This site is also helpful to convert 'bps' into other conversions http://home1.gte.net/res0psau/bandwidth-unit-converter.html An example for me is that I have a dedicated 1-to-1 100MB (upload/download), non-contended (not shared with other customers). Therefore my 'bps' that I could use for my 'MaxBandwidth' could be a value of '800000000' bps, as that equates to 100MB
  24. That *could* be one of the development versions for testing rather than an official released version. I'm sure one of the ACRE Devs will clarify shortly :)
