civillian children
Archamedes replied to Archamedes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
From the makers of slx for arma 2 found on armaholic. Tested it myself and its pretty gruesome and detailed. Back on topic. This is why i saw it as a gray area like most. I agree there is always some idiot who ruins it for everyone by posting a child massacre video playing to the Typical crap rock music over the top of it, like all other usermade game footage you see online. But i guess bohemia cant really take the blame for it as they didnt incorporate them into their game, not that it cuts any beef with the beardy, sandle wearing doo gooders with their recycled bikes that don't have jobs but sit around itching to whinge about something, to make their simple life more interesting. "games don't kill people, lunatics that blame games kill people." -
Campaign 2 Seal Team Six release!! (SP)
Archamedes replied to sick1's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
i found a weird bug which i have no idea if it was a general bug or something that went really wrong. But in mission 4 or 5 cant remember. its the one where you halo in and have to laser all the tanks. I kept getting shot by nobody that i could see. Then my team would come over, heal me then they all kept shooting me, heal me and shoot me again. It was like some sort of sick infantry game inspired by hostel or something. Then when i went into the map it turned out I was registering as an opfor unit. This didnt happen the first time i played it but it did the 2nd -

Seal Team Six Campaign release (SP)
Archamedes replied to sick1's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
I have played this with and without SLX and all infiltrations/extractions work fine. Its just mission 2 infiltration where the heli hovers ands doesnt land. that seems to cause mass problems throughout and thats with no mods activated my end -

Or you can still use the LAV and jump out at the LZ and use the SMAW -
Manhatten Walkthrough (Spoilers Obviously)
Archamedes replied to Archamedes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
like i said in an eralier post you can actually complete this mission without firing a single shot from your rifle if you use the LAV. Its a bit lazy but it gets through it much quicker and also if your quick enough to find the enemy base as early as possible you can use arty before the STILL UNFIXED bug kicks in -
Seal Team Six Campaign release (SP)

Everyone has that problem, the trick is to eject just as the helo pulls back to auto hover, do it just as the nose touches the shoreline otherwise you will land in the water and lose your gear. jump too late and your parachute wont open. Secondly has the fix for panthera 2.1 been done yet? -
I think it should be disabled that whenever you go into water you lose your gear. this causes nothing but problems when trying to collect it because as soon as you have it back its gone after 3 seconds. And trying to get ai to recollect their weapons is a nightmare. Not to mention that the majority of the time people like playing as special forces and Real Marines don't lose equipment when they do a water approach to a target. (another thing you cant really make in the editor as by the time you reach land you got nothing to fight with.)

cancelling Vehicles continually exploding
Archamedes posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Is there a script or code that i can tweak to stop vehicles from randomly blowing up constanly after they have been destroyed? Its annoying when running past a destroyed UAZ that i blew up an hour ago only for it to go bang again and injure me -

i installed it correctly and it worked, its not that hard to install campaign to your campaigns directory and all extra addons to your addons directory. simple. alough some addons may need to be updated from the previous seal 6 campaign such as the island. I tell you what, i am loving all the airstrikes and stuff proper good campaign -

the t72's are not invincible you have the option at base to pick up a javelin and launcher. I took out the t72 in one single hit -

So is this fixed? It looks like you copied and pasted the above text from the first mission -

Correction it has to say Campaigns If you put it as campaign it won't show up in the game -
Because arma 1 has been out a lot longer than arma 2 there are a lot more resources as far as missions and editor help goes. Can you use the same scripts for arma 1 in arma 2? Im not talking about sqf files and external notepad stuff outside the game but ingame editing. Also can arma 1 missions work in arma 2

Or you can just shoot her, it will still mark as a successfully completed objective because you arrested her which was what the objective was to do. You just don't get the evidence (which to be honest doesn't really have any impact in later missions). -

you should always get the option when standing to the front left side of it. As with my walkthrough, its always better to be the driver because AI takes all day and will slow to a halt everytime the road curves. on the flipside always have AI on the guns because they make up for their poor "driving miss daisy" driving with rambo precision when it comes to nailing enemy hidden in a forest in a moving apc. -
its not banned here in the uk, however im surprised because we have such a tight nanny state, topped on with political correct madness. The government are constantly taking decisions out of peoples hands and deciding what we should do and make it law. They tried to ban games like grand theft auto when some stupid 16 year old copied the game and killed someone. Luckily enough Rockstar games turned around and said "there is an 18 certificate on the game for a reason, he shouldn't be playing it and im sorry but at 16 you are old enough to know the difference between game and reality. lock him up, its his fault not ours." But back on topic. i do hope this is the last one because the series is really starting to get old now.

ooh thanks for that i look forward to seeing the end result. ofp made this huge community and the game is still running strong among few. others may go back to it for nostalga reasons, but i find bringing it forward with graphics and advancements in gameplay will really make the difference
-
even though i have been moderatly defending the game in earlier posts, i have now got bored of it. Its now become a bit too repettetive it seems the only differences are that sometimes you play at night and others during the day. I dont even know what the point of the combat knife is for. i have tried to sneak up on enemy with their backs turned enough times and they seem to snap around suddenly when you get 20 feet from them
-
would it be silly of me to ask about maybe converting the 2 most popular campaigns of the ofp era? say cold war crisis and resistance? I would say red hammer but that was shit. Resistance more so because the storyline was outstanding and well worth a movie based on it.

Archamedes replied to lucilk's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
my pc is pretty powerful and fps does drop a bit but i can handle it. i placed about a hundred civillian units scattered around the small village and surrounding area. after the blast and radiation vanished i took a trip over there, found lots of dead bodies around the outside, but the village was destroyed and there where no signs of any bodies left in the town. they where vaporized. it would be great if you could get the trees to knock over too. concrete, steel and brick will fall but wood and leaves stay standing lol -

i made a video as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIpPRzn1dPo -
like i keep saying everyone one is whinging about the game only because its not like ofp1 or arma. its made by codemasters who have taken it away and made something new with it, its a completly different game now. if you had nothing to compare it to you would have nothing to complain about. you cant get a game like civilization and bitch about it because it doesnt do the same things as settlers or has better graphics because they are seperate games. the only thing that ties dragon rising is that it shares the same name as operation flashpoint. that is where the similarites end
-
im talking about the one you listed. I tried it before and after applying the mod. i noticed an immediate strong increase in difficulty. I just reached the top of a hill and out of nowhere (well 800 metres away to be exact) i got about 7 similtanious headshot kills from 3 mg nests. After realoading about 6 times there was nothing i could do to return fire or have a fighting chance. I appreciate it increases ai but now they are like robocop
