  1. Hello all. I am new here. I played and loved OP Flashpoint and bought this game on a nostalgic whim. I was very disappointed with the performance at first. Tech problems point. My Specs. Intel core 2 Duo E7200 @ 2.53 MHz (low and I thought this was my problem) Windows XP 32 bit 4 GB DDR2 max XP will recognize I had a GForce 8500 GT. I was getting 10 or less fps on any setting, crashes, and aiming mouse lag. I have been planning to upgrade. I just put in a GTX250 with a better power supply. I did not expect much after reading here about the game being CPU dependant but I wanted the upgrade for other games as well. I then deleted my settings, to get first start settings from the game. WOW! Now running at 50+ FPS according to Fraps, all setting normal or higher (most higher), the 3d resolution was set at 150% more them my Desktops 1200/900. I just played around for a few minutes with the settings, never dropped below 40+ FPS. No more mouse lag, no crash (was only 10 minutes of playing) Back on to my point. I am not boasting in any way. I know many others are having real problems with way better or worse set ups. There is hope, it is not all the CPU. Good luck all and happy gaming!
  2. Yes, my 8500 served me well and I quietly put it to rest. I have enjoyed almost all major PC game releases at single player mid range performance until ARMA II.
  3. All I am trying to state, is my gain from -10 FPS at any setting to now way higher. In the same setting I was in "smooth boot camp" I think my old gt 8500 and my new gtx 250 are not both in the same class. I in no way expect to have the best performance with this game. Just, it was a major improvement for me. Maybe my thread title should have been focused for ppl with lower specs. I just posted my results because for once, they were good.
  4. Um, it was in the boot camp training. I do not want to step on any toes. I am playing In the same situation I explained my performance and the gain "I" got from my upgrade. My only point in this post is that the game is not all CPU dependent, and myself personally has had major improvements with a simple, overdue Video card update. I again recognize that many others are having major problems with better or worse setups.
  5. """"control panel > Manage 3D Settings > arma2.exe (You may need to add the exe manually) > Vertical sync > and set it to Force Off."""" Already done, with new and old card. I have, had plenty of cooling. The new Vcard and maybe cleaner PSU is all I added and the difference is night and day.
  6. Update I just ACE'D the boot camp rifle range, before my upgrade I stopped here with like 10 in score, major mouse lag, -10 FPS. New GFX card, I got a 32 first try.

    May be a stuid question.

I could be wrong, but I had the same problem on the boot camp training. In my game the switch weapons was under the control options but unassigned. So I assigned it and was able to switch from the default boot camp rifle to the secondary tank busters further in. The control menu was a little weird. I tried shift+ new key ect.. and alot of stuff came up in RED "already assigned" Finally I put in R-ctrl something, was in yellow, and I was good. Again, there might be an easier way but this was my experience. Good luck!
