Ive just bought Arma 2 off a friend who wasnt keen on it. I installed it, and it loads and plays vanilla Arma 2 ok, but when I try to install ANY of the patches from the official website links after extraction it comes up with something like... "error in addons\air2.pbo" I cancel, and the next box reports the downloaded file may be corrupted and try downloading again. Ive downloaded from about 5 different sources this 1.2.58134 patch and I cant get it to install. Please help :(

Well I tried installing the game from the HD, ie copying files over from cd, and couldnt get past CRC errors. I then installed again from cd, and then applied patch. This came up with one error (see message below) right at the end but I ignored it and it seems to have completed the update. What a total carry on. Please be patient. This update may appear to take a long time to complete. It is updating and installing very large data. ArmA 2: Updating version 1.01 to version 1.02... Error found in file addons\ui.pbo (2fe3d889!=02891d28) ArmA 2 patch 1.02 has been applied successfully. I have a hard time believing its a hardware issue. Firstly the ram is pretty top grade stuff, the HD is relatively new, and the errors are inconsistent and (correct me if im wrong) relate to installation files, not hardware issues, but I stand to be corrected. What tests would you suggest I run, to check the integrity of my memory and hard drive, just so I can definetely rule that out? Gonna go check the game now, only taken like 6 hours to bleedin install the game.

Well the first time I installed, it came up with some error. So I installed it again, and everything went fine. Then I tried getting the various patches and they all come up with this error. Ive just tried copying the ADDON folder from the cd to the hd and that got me to 4% but came up with the same error, except was for the next pbo file (anims I think). Next time I tried patching it went back to error at 3% in the air2.pbo file again. Also has this info in the next box... ArmA 2: Updating version 1.01 to version 1.02... Update 1.01-1.02\ADDONS\AIR2.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error code: 1 Some error occurred during patch installation. Patch file is probably dammaged. You may need to download it again. Error in file ADDONS\air2.pbo, phase 1. Will try installing for a 3rd time but getting pretty pssd at this, friend didnt have any issues regarding install or patching apparently.
