I bought DR because it sounded and looked nice but it turned out to be a boring poor looking console shooter missing most of the interesting features they claimed it would have.... so DR kinda fucked itself. -

Well it's two different gamestyles and i couldn't imagine myself playing ArmA2 only, sometimes i just need some fast paced cqb shooter action and ArmA doesn't really work there... yet :) Indeed :cool: -

Well i bought BF2 which was a great game, now i'll get BF3 hoping it's atleast just as good. I bought DR which sucked giant ass, surely i didn't buy RR.... call it logic -

Well i'm not angry at CM's RR/DR just a bit annoyed at the people who defend those games with things like "ohh it's a AWESOME game because it doesn't have many bugs"... yeah that defines a great game :p P.S. i guess they bought the games and must defend them to avoid apprearing ass ripped, well i learned my lesson from DR :D -

I just played the beta for the first time today and it's pretty nice, 3rd person though. The graphic is decent+ and the maps are very good.

I have always seen that "clunkyness" as a feature that seperated arma from the shooters where you can turn 180 degrees aim and hit in 0.2 seconds. -

True, no one is playing CM games enough to realize they need support ;) No the difference is that BIS games are so MUCH bigger that DR/RR(even combined) so sure it will need support and so it get. DR/RR on ther other hand have less issues because they are dumbed down and simplyfied as hell, yet they barely get any support.... see the logic :bounce3: -
Still confused about isServer!

I'm really confused about when to use and not use isServer/!isServer when hosting mission locally and on dedi server. If i have a script that are executed by a trigger and it spawns a tank. If i start script with: if (!isServer) exitWith {}; What will happen on a dedicated server and what will happen on a locally hosted game... The dedicated server: Will the script only get executed on the dedicated server and spawn 1 tank and will it be visible to all connected players? If i remove the !isServer line will every connected players execute script and spawn a tank each? Locally hosted game: Is it only me as host that will execute script and spawn 1 tank and is it visible to all players connected? If i die before script is executed by trigger will my computer(the host/server) still run script and spawn that tank? Another similar question: Is there a difference in adding ammo/weapons to a crate and spawning units... I'm using a ammo crate filler script, should it get executed on all players connected computers or just on host/server? I have made a mission where theres a ammo crate which execute a crate filler script from its init line, the script start with: if (!isServer) exitWith {}; On locally hosted game the crate is filled but on dedicated servers it's empty, now i'm really confused because i thought that when executing ammo/weapons crate filler script on server each client would be updated with that new info. I also thought that if i executed script on each client the client would pass info on to server which would pass it on to the other clients and the crate would end up with tons of ammo/weapons :confused: I really hope someone can make me understand this so i can start making some MP missions :cool: -

Go ahead and buy a BF/COD game for the same amount and then do a comparison on what you get :rolleyes: ArmA2 worked great for me out of the box, sure there was some annoying bugs from time to time but overall it worked fine(of course i had/have a computer that can handle it decently). Infact ArmA2 played better out of the box for me than it does now with all the patches that keeps breaking stuff.

I'm pretty sure you can already do 5, but it would be cool if objects could be grouped with like ctrl+g so that after de-select and select they would still be grouped!

Not??? I bought dragon rising and it sucked, as far as i can understand red river is the same except they stripped it for the only things that made dr playable at best..... free roaming, vehicles and the editor.. doh doh doh. -

No AI is not cheating they just got a good hearing, like when they prone in a waist heigh grass field and constantly know your exact position 100m away :p
