My bottleneck lay on my 1.5TB harddrive which is not split in partitions and is one big mess :p I'm getting a SSD to see if that will improve loading of textures. Here's what i got: ..::[Score]::.. ..::[Settings]::.. ..::[System Specs]::.. CPU: i7-920 (@ 3.5Ghz) RAM: 8GB Corsair DDR3 1333 GFX: Zotac GTX 285 1GB HDD: Seagate 1.5TB SATAII MOBO: Gigabyte EX58-UD4P OS: Windows XP Pro 32Bit SP2 (yes i know..32Bit/8GB RAM... i got reasons ;) )

Do yourself a favor and get the VopSound 2.1 mod, that will bring even more immersion
-
Can't you read :p No seriously, what are you saying?
-
Most people can run it, but you need a proper computer else you might get disappointed! Personally i've been playing from day 1. No mods are considered essential... that said there's mods that really makes the game even better. VopSound is something i wouldn't play ArmA 2 without now that i've tried it ;)
-
...and so is there in ArmA 2 so i don't see the big greatness there! That be cheaters, tk'ers and infantiles
-
Have you read through this thread and tried whats been suggested? It would be a lot easier if people said what they have done to try fix the problem, instead of just adding a generic post!

Putting this in the Act. field of a trigger will make units crouch: {_x setunitpos "Middle"} foreach thislist; -
Hmmm i'm out of ideas atm. Dunno if this will help at all but here's my nvidia control panel settings:

jw custom replied to {USI}_Zombie's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Could it be the Post Process effects causing it ??? -
I'm gonna laugh in advance :p What made Dragon Rising fail would take a total remake to fix ;) But good luck... you gonna need it :D

knockout
-
Yeah but have you tried what i suggested?
-
LMFAO Dragon Rising can't be fixed it's a utter failure. If you play it on a console and dont expect more than just another shooter then you might enjoy it ;)
-
There's a AA setting you can set on normal. The only reason i'm suggesting this is to try rule out what could cause your CTD's, not forcing you to play with these settings!
-
Have you tried running ArmA 2 with a default ArmA2.cfg without any manually tweaking to it, video settings on normal and a resolution like 1600x1200 with 3D resolution @ 100%. Then try all Video memory settings from default to Very high to see if you can get it stable.
-
There must be something wrong setting wise with ArmA 2! I get CTD's with Video memory set on Default but when setting it on High everything works fine! My box: i7 920 (actually got it running @ 3.5ghz without getting CTD's now that i found out about that Video memory setting issue) Gigabyte EX58-UD4P 8 Corsair DDR3 RAM GeForce GTX 285 (191.07) So it is possible to get that hardware combo running without persistent CTD's

VopSound 2.1 mod is available now and is also great ;)

Please "KILL" the occupants of exploding vehicles
jw custom replied to bangtail's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I have never seen that, but often i see the crew bail right before it explodes. -
Yeah now that i read his post again and notice the compare to cod it must be Dragon Rising.... then i stand corrected, i agree that is a disaster :D
-
Hey please share dude :D

jw custom replied to Archamedes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Does ArmA 2 startup if you uninstall that capture program that added the armalib in the first place? -
I think thats the general opinion in here :p

random crashes d3d9.dll????
jw custom replied to sackmeister's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yes i did, but putting 'video memory' on 'high' removes the CTD's :) -
Random Enemy Variables in Editor
jw custom replied to DanielBourne's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
I think you should try Urban Patrol Script (UPS). Using the parameter "RANDOM" will place units randomly within the assigned marker area. If you want the units to not leave marker area use the "NOFOLLOW" parameter. Units will patrol randomly with the marker area. This script will do all you want and more too, i use it in all missions i make :)
