G'day guys, Ever since I installed v1.05 I get the problem described in the title. Has anyone else encountered this problem? And if so, did you fix it? Kenji -
Why does SLI deactivate when FRAPS is recording?
Kenjineering posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
G'day, I'm using Nvidia drivers 191.07. I had my SLI indicators active during a multiplayer game in which I was trying to record using fraps and I noticed that whenever I hit F9 to record, SLI was disabled. Does anyone know why? And does anyone know how this can be resolved? -

Did you patch the game between the time you originally saved and the time when you tried to open it up. What are your specs btw -

I am only going to say the positives about OFP2. (ARMA2>OPF2 without a doubt) What I think the devs should try out with ARMA2: 1) OFP2 has amazing distant smoke trails, ARMA2 could do with the same effect. 2) The squad commands in the MAP of OFP2, although not as detailed, are really easy to issue the most common of all orders. Arma2 might be able to incorporate this say for the "most frequently" issued orders (in the map). 3) "Fire on my command" - Does ARMA2 have this? If so they should because it is pretty handy. Bohemia Interactive really have done a good job though haven't they? I think all those disgruntled users who commented in the troubleshooting forums along the lines of, "When OFP2 will be released it shall be.. Bye bye ARMA2 , Hello OFP2" must now feel pretty silly.

That is just how the SLI is in this game unfortunately. For some reason SLI goes 100% whenever objects are right in front of your face, but only 50% in other situations.

I am also having the same issue. And I have the up to date steam version -
It is just typical that a patch comes out just when I have a shite load of assignments and tests. but I made time to play... I just didn't sleep!

190.62 available from Nvidia :)
Kenjineering replied to bangtail's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have worse performance with these drivers. It is especially noticeable when I am rotating around. It isn't the usual texture and object loading lag, but a slurpy stilted rotation lol. I will revert back to the previous drivers. And yes I did install the latest version of Nhancer that supports the driver ;) -
anti-gravity device lol

A constant 0.5FPS is definitely the worst FPS I have ever seen anyone report!

Doesn't ARMA2Mark change your view distances anyway? -
TKing Issue: -please stop the soldier in command from assisting you whilst trying to kill you after you have TKed. i.e. "Re-arm at ... and.... return to formation" - Dialogue issue: E.g We are near Osha Me: (Targets?) Soldier: "I saw several west officers to the south of Osha" Me: (Where are we?) Soldier: Sorry I am not from around here. Me: BUT YOU JUST PRETTY MUCH TOLD ME OUR POSITION BEFORE HAND!! - Dialogue Issue: Please stop Russians from speaking American English when they are in pain.. "ohh my arm" etc.

What does ARMA 2 have that Operation Flashpoint 2 doesn't?
Kenjineering replied to bloodbomb's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
???The original poster asked for a relative comparison. Pros and Cons are useless if they are based on PURE speculation. The parts where I speculated were extrapolated based upon the game play videos, dev interviews, the size of the company, what technology it will be played on, the quality of previous products, the quality and effort gone into marketing and to whom their target market is. My speculations are clearly (look at the English) not meant to be taken as definite. You flame the Pros and Cons but then provide your own but in a different format. "Pro: Smoke appears to be better" -

As far as I know OPF2 also has an editor. OPF2 Pros: 1) This game's focus is on an army combat EXPERIENCE. 2) It will be grittier, bullets landing around you feel heavy and deadly, smoke is darker and denser. Smoke for instance lingers around and actually looks like it will kill you if you breathed it in. 3) The damage to vehicles seems to be represented better in the game. 4) A lot of variation in soldier faces. 5) Will most likely be more stable with less bugs. 6) Radio commands aren't stilted sounding English. 7) In the campaigns, if you blow up a building in earlier missions, it will remain blown up for the rest of the campaign. 8) Will most likely (due to it's more FPS style) be more popular across a wider range of the gaming market. OPF2 Cons: 1) Doesn't appear to be as much of a war simulator. 2) Doesn't appear to have high command and all those juicy features that ARMA2 has. 3) ARMA2 has a nice head bob when you run + your gun moves around a lot(very nice). OPF2's gun just wiggles like quake and COD4. 4) You can't be as tactical as with ARMA2. 5) May not develop such an enthusiastic modding community. ARMA2 Pros: 1) This game's core focus is that of army combat SIMULATION. 2) The player has a range of different play options. They can be a grunt that just follows AI orders or they can go all the way to being the top officer that directs units across the battlefield. 3) Head bob + leaning + Track IR + First person running animations. 4) I speculate that ARMA2's radio system will be a lot more complex since OPF2 will also be released on the consoles. 5) You can conduct yourself in game in the same manner you would if you were actually there in the real combat environment and expect it to work. 6) Devs have awesome accents. ARMA2 Cons: 1) There is a slight gamble that your machine will struggle to run it because of relatively poorer optimization. 2) OPF2 will most likely be less buggy. 4) Special effects will most likely be slightly worse than in OPF2 (smoke etc). 5) OPF2 might have better physics. 6) It's market is more of a niche. This is only a con for someone outside of that niche. -
Serious Problem in SP Campain - cant play
Kenjineering replied to Obi-Lan-Kenobi's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I got this error message when ever I attempted to load my old 1.02 savegames on 1.03v of the game. I don't know if this is what you are doing, but the only way I could resolve it was by restarting the mission from scratch. After that, there was no problems reverting back to 1.03 saves. As I recall BI said that not all 1.02 saves will be compatible with 1.03. -
It looks like you got the thick end of the stick Indecision. I'd be frustrated as hell if I were in your shoes as well.
