  1. Well.. I have no ''my games'' folder... the folder for Arma 2 is within my Steam folder. I'm running vista I don't know where to find ''My Computer" yet lol. What file are you talking about when you say: "then it will say how big your file is" Also whats the specific name of this file or folder I need to insert "-maxmem" into? Where exactly does it go within it? I appreciate the help. (I know my cpu isn't running out of memory.. these simulations aren't that big.. and the ones I intend to make.. are going to be 4 times as large.. so I MUST get by this hurdle.. sadly my lack of computer knowledge is making me learn how to fix all of these things on the fly.. which I've fixed quite a bit graphically... now just need to handle this mem problem.) Thanks for your help thus far however. :) ---------- Post added at 01:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:11 PM ---------- found ''my computer'' EDIT I still don't know where this ''how big your file'' thing is? ---------- Post added at 01:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:12 PM ---------- I suspect you have the european version? I dl'd the steam version and I think it just has its own brand of special issues.. though, this might be largely ignorance based superstition.
  2. So, how to I check this page file? ---------- Post added at 03:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:09 AM ---------- I see this in my shortcut: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 33900 the 33900 has something to do with this error message?

this command line: this setFace "face04_camo4"; Does not work. Does anyone know a command line for a single NPC that allows me to customize thier face?

    setFace

    setFace

that was for *all* units to have Facepaint. I want to target a specific individual npc for this.
  6. How do I get my profile's character to have facepaint? (I don't wanna do everyone.. but I would like it..)
  7. I like ACM... and the Ambient Civs (and vehicles)... BUT... I don't want sheep and random civs roaming through my base (or their shitty clunkers sitting next to my Abrams repair station. Or random spawns of enemy forces destroying stuff that I don't need them to destroy because my main guy is back at HQ resupplying... how to I disable the ambient stuff in specific areas?
  8. Oh. Rommel where do I put the Code string? Do I get to select where the Carrier is? I made the .sqf file.
  9. There are two large ships sufficient to launch a helo from in the Empty section but they always start underwater... do you know how to make them float possibly? (I'd prefer the Khe Sahn to a dl'd LST)
  10. Any chance that the SOM module could use the appropriate language for the faction using it? (hopefully in a fourthcoming patch)
  11. dumb question perhaps but where exactly... do i type the... _obj = _this select 0; _index = _this select 1; _building = nearestBuilding _obj; _obj setPos (_building buildingPos _index); because I always get this ''local variable.. global space thing..."

    Patch 1.02 Stability Survey

I really like what you guys have done with this series. I've played since OFP. The improvements to AI are quite good. Multi-player will be fantastic given the right style of game and selection of weapons. While tactically the infantry AI has improved.. I would like to suggest that in your next patch that you focus on improving the dynamics of the flight AI. They tend to crash alot when in combat. It really is only a matter of time for them to crash. Arma 1 tended to do a better job with its airports than Arma 2 so far. The fixed wing aircraft nearly always crash on takeoff. Having the jets scripted to goto a higher altitude faster would fix this immediately. Also with the helicopters need to be tweaked. I'm running a 3.2g quad with x2 gtx 280s.. I overbuilt my computer expressly to run massive simulations which I enjoy watching my friends try to fight their way through. I run all of my settings the highest levels with the view distance at about 3700ish ~ so I can keep the very high quality terrain. The new modules are absolutely fantastic. Brilliant work. All in all I am glad I bought 3 copies of this game and I hope you guys continue to improve it as time progresses. This is a wonderfully adaptable platform. (I got some as gifts to friends who were skeptical) I might make a suggestion for Arma 3 (or perhaps a later patch of this game...) Put in some counter measures for the aircraft and a missle lock warning. That would greatly increase the flight sim portion of the game. Also, I don't know if this is possible given this engine, but.. try to figure out a system to allow aircraft at a certain altitude to perhaps see farther? This combined with basic counter measures... could expand the ability to have more realistic airsupport. All in all... great job BIS.
  16. Hi, I'm new to these forums. I've played since OFP but Arma 2 has really got me juiced to do some serious modding aside from doing basic things like customizing weapon loadouts.... BUT.... I was wanting to looking for .pbo files. So I start digging around in program files looking for the main Arma 2 folder. I can't find it. I put Arma 1 on my cpu and had to dl a beta patch to run it with Vista. I also notice that Arma 2 doesn't appear on my ''All Programs'' list even? Too bad I can't reinstall because I downloaded Arma 2 from Steam. Anyway, does anyone have an idea on how I might fix this? (I've been scratching my head all morning about this one)
  17. I have avoided Steam as much as possible. I suppose I'm gonna have to break down and get more friendly. Thanks for the tip, one of those under-my-nose things that would've eluded me for a while had not I received a nudge.
