I have. Joined up with SOCOM, 15th MEU, UO, Tacticalgamer many many others as a welcomed guest (When I last clean out my Teamspeak ARMA folder it had 40+ servers in it). As of last year I couldn't get any consistent games with them like I used too with Veteran mode enabled (especially with the old default settings). And that is the point. Bis isn't trying to keep this a military sandbox like they used to. Were you here in the days when all this dumbing down was being done by OFP and they mocked them for doing it? I'll ask you. When was that last time you've been on a server with no 3rd person, no cross hairs, no map icons of enemy with an authentic military mission in play? How often is that? It was close to a norm at once upon a time. Now I can't find it even when sorting for it by the veteran column on the play with six app.

Difficulty was changed in ARMA II as well. How does that fact fit into you summation? Well it doesn't, does it? When I was last playing if you selected vet the default had no 3rd person, no cross hairs, no enemies on map. So your point is invalid. The real tragedy is you and the others. You're making my point. This was really directed to Bis, so no thank you on your advice especially since it's just your projections onto me that you're really criticizing.

It didn't help me as I did do that via the "play with six app" and I got what used to be cadet mode labeled as now the new Veteran mode. Others: I notice not one of you replied on the issues that I raised. This is exactly what we mean by Gen Zero. You add up to nothing. So if it is all about development then why is ARMA II CO now Vet mode with 3rd on and cross hairs on? It didn't used to be that way as a default. I've been away for some time now but this game is nothing about realistic military sandbox anymore but now more about TK'ing everyone at a spawn or a game mode predicated from the same adolescence impulse called wasteland or dayz. Even worse is that the helos are full arcade now. They were never at Sims quality but they've been dumbed down quite a lot. The problem for some is that if you haven't been around that long you wouldn't know these things. And that is the point isn't it. Nobody that actually won a trophy would accept competing today and see everyone gets one. But the Gen zeros think its just fine and like their cadet trophy labeled Veteran. This wasn't the case before the "Everyone gets a Trophy Syndrome" landed here...

Did you delete then revalidate via steam or just delete it?

I can't join any servers. All servers kick me. I have steam version of Arma 2, OA, BAF, and PMC. I've re-validated after it being said that fixed it in another thread. Still being kicked. If I change the BAF folder name I can join servers as someone suggested.

Guess that means the game isn't loading the dll since I had to manually copy it to the appdata location after I've run the game many times trying to join servers.

Yes I do. All three locations for XP32. I have the separate installs from Steam, ARMA 2, AO, BAF. I posted earlier in this thread that I did notice that the appdata BE dll wasn't updated via steam or your exe in this thread. I copied the updated dll from my OA\expansion\be folder to the appdata location but still didn't work. Why am I getting an error running OA via steam in admin mode now?

Ok made a PW for administrator via safe mode. I can now start steam using 'run as' then admin with PW. But now running OA I get a direct input error box for OA 2 stating that directx 8 required! (yes dx 8) The app closes on that error. sigh... I close steam, run it normally and game starts no problems but still can not connect to a server.

I can't run as an administrator. I'm XP32 and get an error when trying to run as an administrator. I only have one account which automatically logs me into windows with admin privileges.

Steam Arma2 Arma2 OA BAF: Use combined OPs shortcut to start. Tried all of Dwarden suggestions. Join server get same battle eye can't initialize. Noticed that the appdata dll wasn't updated. Overwrite that one with the new client.dll that was being updated in expansion\battleye and still the same error. I've tried to connect to over a dozen servers by myself, with no success. I'm on voice with suicidesquad UK which is one of the more popular servers and they are stating that nobody with steam has been able to connect since this patch. Nobody. They keep seeing people try to connect and the same error appears 'battlEye failed to initialize'. While many people end up coming on their voice Teamspeak and it's all the same, "I'm using the steam version". Did the steam version get it's paths screwed up where to look for the client.dll?

Can't tell if this did anything when running as it disappears fast after running. Still can not connect to servers. People that don't have steam can connect and play. When I try to connect they tell me on teamspeak that a message in game says 'battle eye failed to initialize'.

This has to be a bug and hopefully will be fixed. I've had a gunner switch to hellfires when they were depleted. I couldn't engage a target right in front of me with rockets or cannon or even hellfires as they were depleted. Fix this.......
