Just drive him back to the HQ building at your base (it's indicated on the map). A dialog will start automatically and the POW will get out of the truck...

Just run up to the village main base and wait there untill the counter (see map) runs down to 0. Then the village is yours. No need to use recruited units, you can do that yourself.

It happens... Just a couple of seconds after I get a script error that says something in the lines of "transfer command...script error" which makes me think I was able to take control of the USMC but it failed. Issue related to it...

Money is never an issue imo. I just have my units take one or two villages as possible and before you know it you can afford an APC or tank. Pretty unstoppable in one of those.

Yeah, have the same problem. Even tried to shoot him in the legs. Also at one point I am promised support for this mission from a USMC unit. They never show up and I get a script error which says something like "transfer command... script error" when the USMC return to the country
