  1. Well done guys. Top Marks.
  2. Why thankyou. Although the comparison is strange.
  3. Haha you make a fair point Johnny. The only reason I call it recon is because American members of the community will understand it better. Hence the '/' between the sniper and recon.
  4. Ok no problem, if you want any specific scripts then I'll be happy to do them but they will take longer. I can give you some examples of good ones to try out: A Security team protecting a VIP or General. A Sniper/Recon team observing a target. A Special Forces Assault Team making a raid. Those are probably ones I would find easiest to write scripts for, but i can do others which are simpler.
  5. Ok upon request from Snake Man, here is the correct Load-Outs: Load Alpha- 1,160 rounds of 30mm from M230 Cannon and 16 Hellfire missiles. Load Bravo- 1,160 rounds of 30mm from M230 Cannon and 76 Flechette rockets. Load Charlie- 1,160 rounds of 30mm from M230 Cannon and 76 HEISAP rockets. Load Delta- 1,160 rounds of 30mm from M230 Cannon and 38 Flechette rockets and 38 HEISAP rockets. Load Echo- 1,160 rounds of 30mm from M230 Cannon and 8 Hellfire missiles and 38 HEISAP rockets. Load Foxtrot- 1,160 rounds of 30mm from M230 Cannon and 8 Hellfire Misiles and 19 HEISAP rockets and 19 Flechette rockets. Now I will explain each of the Loads. Load Alpha: This is a very specific load for facing a lot of Heavy Armor, with the Hellfire being able to defeat every type of known armor it is therefore the best load on a pre-planned mission to destroy an enemy Armor Convoy. However, this load is not advised if no knowledge of the enemy forces is given. Load Bravo- Flechette rockets are anti-personell rockets but also effective against soft-skin vehicles such as jeeps and trucks. This load-out is very effective at destroying an enemy supply convoy or infantry scouting/raiding party. However, against Heavy Armor this load-out may be found lacking. Load Charlie- HEISAP rockets are best used against buildings, Lightly armored APC's and ships. This load is best used on specific missions to target enemy Forward Operating Bases (FOB) but it is also able to adapt against a variable enemy force, as the cannon will still be able to take care of the infantry. Load Delta- This is truly a load-out for those who wish to attack enemy FOB's or convoys, but do not know what the enemy strength is. The Flechette gives you the ability to take out fast moving and lightly armored targets, while the HEISAP's allow you to destroy buildings where enemies are taking cover and destroy armored reinforcements. Load Echo- This is the true anti-armor load-out. This is for the gunner who knows his missions is to take out a large enemy armor column. The HEISAP rockets allow you to not waste precious Hellfire's on light armored APC's and let them be used sparingly on Heavy Armor in the form of tanks. This load-out is best used by more than one Apache working together. Load Foxtrot- The Multi-Role load-out. Nothing is sacrificed in this load-out, with the ability to take on any force at any given moment. While it does not give the same specific punch as some of the other load-outs, this one allows you to go on a raiding or assault mission prepared for anything and leaving the enemy nowhere to run or hide. With a Squadron of 4 Apaches in an assault this load-out can be used to demolish an enemy battalion many times the size. _____________________________ Now, I know this is complicated and Snake Man may choose not to bother but if you are willing then this will give players the most authentic experience for using the Apache. If you need me to clarify anything then please just leave a message here, on my thread or send me a private message. Thanks
  6. Ok Sorry I have been gone for a few days. In reply to all the things about me not being able to release recordings of radio chatter, that isn't true. Listen radio chatter is only useful to anyone listening if they know the codes, pre-agreed callsigns, so to anyone else it will sound like military speak but they won't know who "Papa-Oscar-Alpha" is unless they have the codes. However, I do think that it would be easy just to distort some voice actors, acting out a script written by someone. Now if thats what you want to do mark, then I will happily be able to write you out what a proper military dialog would sound like in any situation. So I'll help wherever I can:)
  7. Wow a lot of replies let me try and answer them all. @Jonny: Oh the rifles nice one mate :) @Landmine: I don't personally, but I'll either try and find some or try and record some for you. I know some techniques. @Snake Man: Yes I was and I did not mean to offend you, but yes I shall post in the topic with the details of the load-outs used by normal Apache Squadrons. Probably tomorrow.
  8. Which regiment or you prefer not to say?
  9. I got out in early 2007. What about yourself?
  10. I see what you mean, I think sound for alot of people is a major part in the realism of games like Arma and OPF. Yes I think I could I help with most of the sounds you have mentioned, (although I have been luck enough never to have a grenade explode right next to me), and I would be happy to help out in the Beta testing.
  11. Nope, like I said I read too much. When I say clothing I mean for specialist situations, seeing as I have details of the type of gear they where in NBC threat zones, Counter-Terrorism, amphibious insertion etc.
  12. @Mark: Are you referring to sounds such as Radio Chatter, like what people would actually say in military 'dialect'? Or are you talking about the sounds of gunfire, vehicles, troop movements? @Binkowski: Thankyou.
  13. A Proposal Who I am Hello, BI community! My name is Harry and I am currently working as a Security Consultant/Operative/Advisor or whatever else you might want to call it. I have been working for AMA Associates Ltd for a few years now and I intend to carry on my future with them. Before I worked for AMA, I had been a Sniper in the British Army, in the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment. Hence my name is EagleSniper, as the Insignia for the Mercian Regiment is a pair of Eagles. In my spare time I read all the books I can find on anything to do with the Military. I am collecting books that explain the designs of weapons, vehicles, equipment etc. Due to my fascination with military technology. Enough about me, now for what I am suggesting. What I am proposing I have been a follower of the Arma and OPF series' for a while now, not from the very beginning but for enough to time to understand the modding process, how it works and what type of things usually get modded into the games. My interest has always been in the Mods for the British Army and their weapons or units. Unfortunately it is my personal feeling that very often these Mods are not very accurate in their depiction of the weapons or the units, either because people source their material from outdated sources or simply because they cannot be bothered to spend the time researching them. I am offering to be a military adviser for Modding Teams (not just for British Weapons, but also every other nationality). This role would include researching information, pictures, giving explanations, helping with the design process, offering websites where people can find more information and in general just trying to keep the addons authentic. Let me give you an example. I saw an Apache AH-64 mod quite recently and the guy who made it had quite cleverly included three different weapons load-outs for the Helicopter, which in real life it does have. However! The load-outs he had specified were not actually load-outs that an Apache would be outfitted with. Now, because I spend a lot (probably too much) time reading military books, I could tell you the three different load-outs that an Apache would have and therefore the Mod would be more authentic. This goes for other things. I could tell you what each SAS man would carry in a four-man reconaisance patrol, right down to the type of clothing he wears. I could explain to you that L115A3 Super Magnum Sniper Rifle has a folding stock which is very similar to the one the G36 uses. I could describe to you how most Special Forces sniper teams would set up a covert observation post, and what equipment they would bring with them. I could tell you from experience, how a VIP would be guarded whether he is on foot, in a vehicle or inside a building because I have experience in these things. Now I realise that not everyone cares about those minor details but for modding teams who are interested in making the best and most authentic mods possible. I know this idea may be pretty badly trashed but I thought I would offer my expertise just incase anyone was interested. Thanks for reading, Eagle Sniper
