Demo Crashing, Will the Full Game?
wooly-back-jack replied to ElSalzo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
you certainly will keep crashing, as I am matey. Hold off buying it until there is a working patch (I'll let you know in this thread if the new patch stops my game crashing) I had my longest game for a while tonight, ohh 10 minutes! was on a motorbike with my mate on the back and was doing fine heading towards the objective, I thought my problems were over but as I got to the last village before the objective and I panned the view in 3rd person just before turning right and ...CTD. It is definately something to do with taking textures/details in or something -

wooly-back-jack replied to MajorNME's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm with you major, game rushed out too early It is a crying shame because apart from the problems this game checks all the boxes for me and I would have been addicted to it. -

My computer crash every 5-10 min
wooly-back-jack replied to vedikke's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
hmm, seems to be lots of people with 8800GT's suffering 8800GT was a VERY popular card, maybe BI should have someone stresstesting with a 8800gt and I bet alot of problem posts would vanish (incidently one of my mates has an older chip a 8800GTS [G90?] and he isn't getting any problems apart from crap fps) -

ARMA 2 changes language...
wooly-back-jack replied to Tiglet's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I have english version and sometimes on multiplayer I see german text in radio commands but with english radio voice. only from some players... is this just the games way of showing me where people are from? lol -
ArmA2 gives me seizures :(

nice post, hopefully now when people realise the problem is tenfold with North America joining the suffering something may actually get done or something said. Maybe an emergency incremental patch just to fix the CTD's, leave the 'added' stuff for a full patch.

Could this be possibly the best game in history?
wooly-back-jack replied to TheMonster's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
totally ignorant and wrong answer. my PC is low spec compared to most but it meets the optimal requirements on the back of the box apart from my CPU (which still exceeds the minimum requirements). there are people with much higher spec than me having the same problems as me and belive me we have tried everything with game and system settings to get this game stable. -
Make Arma series under subscription ?
wooly-back-jack replied to EricM's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS

Missing xAudio2 file(s) & sound issues
wooly-back-jack replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
nope, still no joy. Hopefully fix will be soon cos I'm not bothering wasting my time crashing to desktop all the time. Back to other games/watching telly for me now. -
bad graphics performance - BiS confirm?
wooly-back-jack replied to 7SD-Toker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
had enough now. sick of joining a server, selecting my weapons and crashing to desktop I have lowered my gfx to stock CPU and Ram are default Uninstalled openAL (that's how desperate I have been, uninstalling stuff and disabling stuff) Chkerror'd the HDD scanned for virus/adware Defragged stopped unneccesary services from starting up (punkbustrA, and punkbustrB ... although it is looking like I will need them now to play CoD4 until this game works) the Beta drivers did boost FPS but didnt help the CTD issue all in all Im pretty miffed, back to CoD4/Project Reality/even CSS!/watching telly... laters -

wooly-back-jack replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
when I installed ARMA2 DVD it ran an installer for openAL? or did you mean my CTD's? (if so check my posts lol) uninstalled openAL anyway and done some other tidying up hoping I can get more joy playing the game later -
actually Eth see you in 2 years and I'll buy that rig at knockdown price from you lol :p

Troubleshooting TrackIR in ArmA 2 / OA
wooly-back-jack replied to Merad's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
hmm, I don't think it would be down to TrackIR tbh. Try running the game without TrackIR and double tap left alt and look around with your mouse that way, I'm sure it is just something to do with movement/taking in textures with 8800GT. I get CTD all the time when panning the camera when in 3rd person in vehicles/driving/flying too fast round bends/dropping a wreck on the repair plate/even just spinning my ingame soldier round on foot when there is alot happening. I think there is just a general issue with CTD's in this game that needs to be solved. From what I have seen, lots are suffering on 8800 cards (hmm, actually...looking at your other post I notice you have a Saitek cyborg evo, same as me... wonder if that is causing us grief?) -
Missing xAudio2 file(s) & sound issues
wooly-back-jack replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
hmm, why does the disk install it then? does this mean it is safe for me to go to add/remove and uninstall this OpenAL rubbish? I am trying everything here to stop my CTD's -
http://505games.co.uk/Contact.aspx just start complaining here guys, that's what I have done.
-
well if they had a "real" spec on the box, they wouldn't sell so many copies would they :p so yes, I agree...it's deception.
