Vehicle Locking vs Vehicle Share List

I think it would be nice to have this in addition to locking. If locked it no one can enter, and if unlocked only those in the list may enter. If script commands were added to vanilla to manage this list, it could default to "Everyone" and thereby would function just as it does now.

Vehicle Locking vs Vehicle Share List

Locking is in vanilla, do you object to that? If it were added in addition to locking, I don't understand why it would be a problem. With the limited number or servers running CTI and a reasonable ping from my area, the chances of this being on one of them if left to mission editors is not that good.

Vehicle Locking vs Vehicle Share List

I am certain that it is, but if it were in the vanilla game it would available everywhere.
  4. I assume the ability to lock vehicles was implemented in order to prevent colostomy-bags (calling them douche-bags would be a compliment) from stealing vehicles which belong to other players. I had to deal with this over the weekend. On several occasions either my AI or myself were intentially killed in order to steal one of my vehicles. I was even called an "asshole" for asking for my vehicle and the remaining AI contained therein to be returned. One may say "lock your vehicle you dumbass", but locking can be an inconvenience at times because some servers disable the ability for the AI to unlock the vehicles meaning I must be right next to it. This is a big problem if I am on the other side of the map and wish to purchase a chopper, fill it with AI troops, and have it flown somewhere. I propose to implement a user modifiable list of players with whom a player is willing to share his vehicle(s). This will allow me to add players to my vehicleShareList and those on the list (and their AI) may enter my vehicles at anytime while all others are denied entry. If I grant someone vehicle access and I later discover him to be a colostomy-bag, I simply remove him from my vechicleShareList and the problem is solved.

    Parental controls

Believe it or not there are adults that don't really want to hear wordy durds too.
  6. What if there is a section in the editor that allowed you to create sides (up to a finite number) and name them as you wish, then you could assign a faction(s) to each side. Any units placed on the map belonging to a faction which has not been assigned to a side which you created would be considered neutral. for instance: I create 2 sides named: 1) "Axis" 2) "Allies" Then I do assignments: Allies: USA and German Axis: PLA and Russia Or Allies: USA and PLA Axis: German and Russia Or Axis: USA and IDF Allies: Everyone else ---------- Post added at 04:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:33 PM ---------- I am suggesting that we be given the liberty of designating the sides that the factions belong to rather than having this predetermined. Considering that it is a suggestion posted in the "SUGGESTIONS" section, it seems to be in the correct section.
  7. Is there any reason to have the various factions pre-designated OPFOR and BLUFOR? I wonder if it would not be nice to have factions designated as OPFOR or BLUFOR in the mission editor on a per-mission basis. For instance, I could then designate USMC as OPFOR and BAF as BLUEFOR and have a rematch. Let's say we get PLA faction eventually, then one could choose PLA/USMC v.s. RUSSIA for one mission and RUSSIA/USMC v.s. PLA for some other mission.
  8. I agree on the downloader issue. I was actually angered when I thought I was going to have to install a downloader. Once i saw the direct link, i cancelled the downloader immediately. Happyness!
  9. Aw. Nice. Ok, I will get it from Sprocket then. I actually have the game on Steam anyway, but i just use the DVD copy when I play. (I have 2 copies of Arma2 on Steam, One copy of AO on Steam, and one copy of Combined Ops on DVD)
  10. Does sprocket retain a record of what I have purchased so that I do not have to repurchase again in the event my house falls into the center of the planet or is the direct target of an alien attack?
  11. If I own the retail DVD, can I still purchase the DLC content via steam and use with the DVD version? I would prefer to buy through steam than the other online retailers.

    Ai thread

I just wish they would stop crashing aircraft.
  13. I like the new GUI. It is much easier to read and feels less cluttered. A step forward IMO.
  14. If the ability to issue a series of "move here" commands is not in the MP game for your squad, it should be. I find myself having to incrementally tell the units how to get somwhere when the location is far away. Otherwise, they seem to choose arbitrary ways to get there... and sometimes this is a LONG way
  15. I somehow convinced myself to purchase 3 copies of Arma2 (2 on steam and one retail DVD) and two copies of OA. ---------- Post added at 09:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:00 PM ---------- Sounds like you two need new friends.
