It would be nice if the AI would understand the forward/backwards commands more like a real person, following the path of the road when you are on one and dodging obstacles as needed.

How do you get rid of the Russian checkpoints? I satchel charged both turrents and the tent on one but it still showed as there. And is Razor squad just there to look cool or can I get their help somehow? Also, any tips for the mission in general? I went off solo with an RPG at first and made enough to buy pretty much whatever I want, but I've tried a few different squad setups and they all get slaughtered quick. -
I think the "turbo" command works like you guys want.

The mouse does "steer more" commands by default, to add extra turning to the keyboard. You could probably rebind the mouse to the normal steer commands and your movement keys to the steer more commands to get it to control the way you want, or maybe turning the mouse senstivity up would help.

If your receiver supports PCM over HDMI or multichannel analog input you'd be better off with one of those, as surround sound has to be compressed to fit over optical. That said, the Xonars are nice cards.

Yeah, it seems the next button doesn't like controllers as this happens with my 360 pad too. -
I'm guessing your onboard sound doesn't support DDL or DTS Interactive, in which case you can only get surround sound passed though from pre-encoded sources like DVDs, but not games, ARMA2 or otherwise.

I just recently noticed this as well, running a Nvidia card so that seems to rule out driver issues. -
The game just goes by the default windows speaker settings, configured though the sound options in control panel. 5.1 is working fine here.

It's mouse acceleration, which means the faster you turn the quicker it turns, and the turrents on the vehicles have negitive acceleration if you try to turn them too fast. It's obviously the way the game was designed, to make it feel like the weapon has weight, though it would be nice to have the option to dissable it. By the way, if XP has mouse acceleration by default, which might add to that of the game and make the control really wonky, so if you are running XP dissabling it might be worth a try: http://www.gotfrag.com/portal/files/82/

On that playthrough I didn't vote myself commander. When in the spawn after the AI built the small vehicle factory, I rolled my mouse wheel to buy units and got an HMMV with a turret, then went out and got kills and captures until I had enough money to go back to HQ to buy the APC and tanks. Then it was just a matter of finding the enemy base and destroying it. As commander you have to go to commander view to take control of your units, though I can't say what button it is off hand since I play left handed and rebind everything. -

I've figured out buying units and controlling them reasonably well, and I've got all three towns captured, but I'm at a loss as to how to destroy the enemy base. At this point I'm just rolling around it in an APC with a couple tanks backing me up. What am I missing here? ---------- Post added at 05:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:24 AM ---------- Ah, all it took was making my tank crew get out so I could get in an shoot the HQ myself. Odd the AI wouldn't do it when I told them to attack. Anyway, it still would be cool to see a video of someone who really knows what they are doing play though the mission. -

I've figured you can vote yourself commander and order your troop around to some extent, but a lot of the time they don't move when I tell them to and I'm really not sure what to do to win the map. It would be great if someone who knows what they are doing could record a video tutorial so us noobs can see how it's done. -
How can I invert aim using Xbox 360 controller?

It is about half and half from polls I've seen, just depends on how one's brain works. Anyway, I think you can change the sensitivity under the "customize" menu on the controllers screen when not using the hardcoded 360 scheme, though I've only seen the sliders and never actually messed with them. Unfortunately, binding right trigger to fire doesn't work with the custom Xbox 360 controller profile, and of course rumble and the console style menu controls don't either. I've bound everything else properly though the custom Xbox 360 controller profile though, plus made the right bumper actually put away the map as well as take it out. -

At least in the demo, you go to options > controls > controller, and there you should see your 360 controller listed there under both "customizable controllers" and "controllers with scheme." Unfortunately, "controllers with scheme" sets it up without inverted look for infantry movement, and customising that scheme doesn't work. Granted, you can use "customizable controllers", but then binding right trigger to fire doesn't work and the menu control with the controller and rumble doesn't either. Hopefully such issues can be fixed in the full version.
