PCGamer Top 100 lists ArmA 2 as the 21st best PC game of all time!
Tork64 replied to Fudgeblood's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
No surprise there, I always knew Arma had the potential for such ranking, even when I wasn't that interested the first time I saw it, always had respect for what it was trying to accomplish, even if it was buggy in the beginning. Grats to BIS, this is pretty big imo. -
exactly what i was looking for, many thx.

Hi, you know how when you press ALT two times real fast you are able to pan around with your mouse ? I want to know if there is a way I can pan around like that but be able to get in front of my soldier, for example pressing alt twice only gives me so much control, I want to be able to pan 360 degrees (while soldiers face is forward). Is there a command for this?

SIX Aiaktalik map Beta1 released
Tork64 replied to Chill xl's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Guys its really simple, I followed the directions on the first page, but for a complete n00b like myself you will miss 1 important part, I hope im allowed to post this. Again this involves installing this mod so its kind of on topic. Its very easy and im actually happy now something like this exists. Ok first install six updater, you can get it by going here. http://dev-heaven.net/projects/list_files/six-arma-updater Once installed, click SixUpdater on your desktop, you should see a command prompt open up, press 1 and hit enter. your web browser should open up. Once it opens up click on configuration, and then synchronize. Once you have done that, Click on configuration and then presets, you will see this screen, it has beta and vanilla, since im using beta, I click on the EDIT button under beta. as seen on this screenshot. It will bring you to this screen, scroll down and do the same as I did, choose @six_aiaktalik and press ADD EXISTING, once you did that click UPDATE. Now click on main, this is what I had, once done press EXECUTE. > 100kb Now a command prompt should open up saying whats being updated, and look its downloading the mod. > 100kb pretty sure thats how its done ? Worked for me. As for the mod, incredible, ill be keeping a close eye on this -

ARMA II Beta Builds Released: Latest version/build: 1.04.6xxxx
Tork64 replied to mattxr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Yeah I reverted back, 61012 made my performance get all choppy, even tested it with previous versions, runs silky smooth but when 61012 installed it gets back to being choppy, not by much but its very noticeable. I really wish I could provide BI with info as to what might be causing this but dont know where to look. -
Your best performance is with which beta version?

excellent n00b question I guess, I downloaded it, made a mod directory, loaded it up, I see taliban and the rest there, but when I place the unit in the editor and preview the game, the guy comes out looking like a civilian. any reason why ? EDIT: hmm everything else works, black ops, navy seals, just the terrorists come up looking like normal civ, ive got all other addons turned off. -

I'm pretty sure they could port it to the XBOX 360 if they wanted to, but how much are you expecting it to be the same as the PC ? This is a combat simulator, not a whack a mole shooter. But lets say they did port it, not only will you be losing the modding capabilities which pretty much makes the Arma series what it is today; but youll also be crippling the entire game while doing it, not to mention aiming on a gamepad, commanding, porting the numerous controls to fit on a gamepad... If Arma was ever ported to the XBOX 360 or other consoles it would be Arma in name only, but hey if you like it then more power to you.

Crashes when putting civilians with waypoints.
Tork64 posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
EDIT: Seems a mod was causing the problem, so I wont be needing help, however is there anyway to know which mod is causing problems ? thx This keeps on happening, I uninstalled and reinstalled, same thing. This happens when I goto editor, setup 5 AI civilians with a small waypoint and try to Preview it.
