Hardware upgrade and overclock solved my mouselag
FlunkyMonkey posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Just thought I would put this up, since I was among the frustrated masses that couldn't play this game BEFORE: AMD Athlon 64 x2 5600+ Brisbane 2.9 ghz EVGA 9600gt -Studdering -Mouselag -unplayable in towns and cities -ctd AFTER: AMD Athlon x2 5600+ Brisbane and Artic cooler - overlcocked to 3.2 ghz EVGA GTX 260 216 -40 fps in countryside -30 fps in dense cities I thought my hardware wasn't a problem, but I can play the game ok now. Not rubbing in anybodies faces, because I hate when people do that in this forum. The way I see it now is either: A) wait for the game to be better optimized if ever B) Upgrade or overclock Obviously this doesn't apply to the people with gtx 295 problems, but I think the enhancement pack fixed that. And trust me, getting the game to work is only the beginning. then you need to learn how to play the buggy badly scripted pos' It is definitely fun though :) I hope people don't take this thread the wrong way Good luck! -
So according to 60% the patch made it worse or didn't fix anything? I just upgraded my 9600gt to a gtx 260, so I am considering giving my ArmA 2 copy another go...but I don't want the frustration. Is there still 2xx problems?

Ah I get mad at everyone these days. ArmA II is making me an grumpy old man. It will get worse when I get my GTX260 in the mail and experience no performance gain in ArmA :butbut: -
Radiosound + Mouse Lag Problem

Jesus you have got to be kidding me. Some people may experiencing some small smoothing and not used to it. What is happening to me IS A GLITCH. I have been with the series for awhile. It is not the weight of the weapon, it is not the momentum of the character turning, IT IS A FUCKING GLITCH SOME PEOPLE HAVE AND CAN'T GET RID OF no matter how cutting edge their system is. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWoNxc0U7i8&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWoNxc0U7i8&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Why is that so hard to understand. Weapon weight simulation wouldn't travel over to making driving a car in ArmaII seem like a friday night after the bars Some people have crisp response -

I really want to know your opinion on it Placebo. Do you think the people have a right to get at least one update of what the BIS plan is? -
Radiosound + Mouse Lag Problem
FlunkyMonkey replied to argh9R's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I am not trying to bust your balls here Placebo, but nobody is expecting every PM to get answered, we are talking about ONE post on the forums that says that they have acknowledged all the various mouselag and performance issues people are having, and that they are trying to work something out. Not even a "it will be done by x", just a post that makes use believe that they care about the fact that a lot of people are really struggling right now and they are under the impression that the game SHOULD work on their system, and that they are hanging in there with the help of people on the forums that also have real life jobs and have gotten their games working, sharing their tips with others trying to help (extensively researching how to make this game run). I am not turning my back on BIS or giving up, I just feel they are somewhat liable for that one post because they fibbed the recommended hardware reqs. a little bit. Do you think that I am completely wrong? I know the game works for a lot of people, but it also doesn't work for a lot of people. -
As belligerent as BIS has been with letting their community know what is going on, I have faith. I just upgraded my sys. about a year ago, so I am playing through ArmA for the first time :)

ArmA is great, and there are some great mods for it as well. This is actually a great way to go it. ArmA was buggy as hell, but eventually they patched it to be stable. Now ArmA II is buggy as hell, but hopefully will be stable eventually. So play ArmA now, and when you get bored, ArmA II should be stable! Reminds me of this:

At least he doesn't have performance issues! -
It is clear from your troubleshooting forum posts that you have no problems running this game, so why do you troll around and argue with people when they say others are having problems? Why don't you go play the game like I wish I could? :( Ah sorry Eth, I pulled the trigger early on this one, im just frustrated :(

Can someone from Bis comment on the FPS issue!!
FlunkyMonkey replied to Jackdaniels's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
This is a great point! Honestly Placebo, I believe that people are still trying because they love BIS and love the OFP line (the true ofp line imo) and that is why they are here. I am sure BIS is working towards fixing all of the problems. Your the community manager, can you just pass up the message that it would make a world of a difference if Maruk or Suma came to the forums every so often and said "We recognize there is this problem, and we are trying to fix it". I honestly think that would make a lot of people feel better :icon_eek: -
ARMA 2 FPS Badly Fragged using 9800gtx+, TrackIr + AMD x2 4400

I seriously don't recommend upgrading based of ArmA II. If other games run fine, then your in good shape. -
Can someone from Bis comment on the FPS issue!!
FlunkyMonkey replied to Jackdaniels's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
A simple "We understand that people are having abnormal FPS problems despite the fact they have optimal and recommended system specifications. We are looking into this problem and working towards a fix" would go a long ways from Suma or someone else BIS right now. I think the frustration is understandable when the Troubleshooting forum goes into amazing detail as to how to tweak the game to make it playable, and yet BIS is stonewalling us and hasn't provided any proof of movement towards the solution. I believe that if they advertised on the box that it is a game that works with 'x' specs, they are liable to make it work with 'x' specs. At the same time, it doesn't help when people just straight out attack BIS with immature posts.
