same as me... if you die, the only way it's to begin another mission... and also if you switch teammate, BEFORE crashing with an aircraft (example), it's impossible to became the leader of the squad...

i think the problem is that arma 2 overheat the GPU and the CPU, try to open your case (and maybe put a ventilator/fan in front of it) and see if it works better... however it's an arma 2's problem because NO OTHER GAMES do this to our pc's.

there was a guy running it under w. vista, i'm running on xp and still it freeze in a similar way

Guys i've found an emergency solution that worked for me: 1) i've cleaned my pc from the inside, the fan etc. 2) i've watched the temperature of the cpu and the gpu, it was incredebly highn with arma II (not with other games) so i've opened the case and i put a normal fan very close to it. RESULT? no crashes and NO FREEZE HOWEVER the problem is that when i'm playing arma 2 the temperature are extremely high, i don't know how that is possible but it's a only problm of arma 2. hope they'll fix that!

yeah agree.. however if our hardware gets overheated only with arma II, it's a problem of ARMA II!

sorry man but i don't agree completely with you. Ok not all games stress our pc's in the same way, BUT it's impossible that with an hardware that works with cod4, fallout 3, empire total war, dowII, etc.. i can't play this game, because it crashes also if i put evernything on low setting (for example) the problem it's not only MINE, we are many to have this problem, so it's not a problem of our machines. (my english is not fantastic cause i'm italian, hope you can understand what i mean) edit: no way, still freeze with the latest patch 1.02.58

the problema is that with this freeze we haven't the 2 files ArmA2.mdmp ArmA2.bidmp that the game write when it crashes. the game write these two files ONLY when it crash TO DESKTOP, but in this case, it completely freeze our computer... However i hope that the next patch will fix that, we'll wait ..

you must be registered in it, then from the upper menu try to find the way to "report" (didn't remember how i've done it cause i tryed many times)

yeah but i think everyone of us have updeated with the latest drivers. i'm playing others games with no difficulties (ex. Fallout 3)... The problem is that i'm not sure if a moderator/admin see this post and report it ... hope to see another patch soon...
