Suggestion: British SAS and SBS units embarking on a mountainous /snowy map (North of Chernarus, and far North East of Takistan) where there are many rivers/ glaciers (for SBS operations), and high altitude sky resorts (for SAS) and towns/villages where rogue winter Russians are researching a mystery weapon of mass destruction. :rolleyes: If this was created I would be very very very......... very very happy :D EDIT:Just including British (SAS/SBS preferably) units would be enough though ;)… and not as the UN :mad: -

I heard once that you could buy a unit; put it into a defence; then make it leave your group (IDK how). This causes it to stay in the defence until death... I don't know if you get the kills, and I would assume that they wouldn't respawn/rearm on their own. This was 'found' in normal Arma 2 and I haven’t tried out since. -

I see this too; the German spec ops somtimes use pistols rather than an assault rifle :confused: I guess they want to look cool

I'm not so bothered about ragdolls, i just would like to see people in-game to stop the animation they're doing and produce a 'death' animation sooner than what they do now. So if they are moving from prone to standing position and die on the way, they die in what position they're in, not after they've stood up, then die.

I wish that the faces don’t alter the dark colours (eg a balaclava) to white, that make some kind of ghost freak -
I admit that the impulse (energy exerted on an object with time) of bullets is strong in that game causing the bodies to move a lot. But I’m trying to show that the bodies are immediately effected when the person dies. Rather than a delay from when the bullet kills the character to when the character’s body falls; like in Arma 2. EDIT: This footage (RL) shows it a bit better (@ 1:33), and the guy didn't die

When the AI die (especially by headshot) all their motor skills should be immediately lost. Therefore once dead, they should drop immediately. In-game you can shoot them several times and they have to complete the animation they're doing, so you end up wasting ammo on a dead guy in animation. If this was fixed I would be very happy. The Ghost – Sniper warrior game has very nice death animations (instant ragdoll of AI when shot dead) -

Warfare Balance in Operation Arrowhead

I've played only warfare so far in MP and I’ve always seen people choose US over Taki all the time, sometimes to create a 10 US vs 2 Taki game. Because of this I’ve never actually been US, as I always try to balance the teams. However I did create a LAN game and noticed that the US have UZI (or it could be the MAC-10, I’m not sure) submachine guns and the M79 launcher. I know the US used to have these (maybe not the submachine gun) many years ago like the Vietnam era; but as the Taki army has pretty much less of everything, it would be nice to see some of the unlikely US weapons get switched to the Taki side. I have another silence related question that is kind of related: What do SD (silenced rounds) do (ie. are the quieter, or only work in SD weapons).

Some missiles (I’m not sure about hydras) are always aimed in front of a helicopter; and therefore require you (the pilot) to aim the front of the heli right at the target - at this point the Ai should fire when he thinks the missiles will kill the target. Sometimes I find that the AI gunners in helicopters are a little 'weird', when I pilot, but maybe i haven’t learnt how to command them enough. -
If you go to your command menu in-game (where you can say dismount, or go on the communications tab ect.) there is a tab named 'Custom'. I think I know it is where you can create your own commands (eg. a guy made one that made an 'ahhhhhhhhhh' noise, and it showed up on radio subtitles as well) But how do I make my own, with the sound and the words in the subtitles? I can not find a search button on the forum, and I have looked through many pages but have not found any topics linked to this.

In MP (mostly CTI) you can create your own markers on the map to show plans or where an enemy unit/HQ may be. I have figured out how to change the colours of the markers in addition to changing the shape of the markers (to a flag or arrow ect.), and how to choose which side can view it (global, team, group...). But how do I rotate them? It's quite pointless having an arrow marker but not being able to point it in a desired direction :j:. For an example, I may want to place an arrow marker on the map to help a team-mate show which direction an enemy tank is going that I have spotted. Or the directions I plan to attack a town from. If there is no way of doing this using the un-modded hotkeys (I think that this is the case :(); could you please tell me if there is an ArmA 2 mod that can do this?

Is that 50KB per sound file or all of them together. All I want is to create about 5 that call out things such as: 'Whats the plan?' and 'I need back-up ASAP'.

How do I get my wav file(s) into that OGG 44100hz 8 bit MONO CBR 32kilobytes format? I downloaded some free trail version and that only converts them into a regular OGG file (that doesn’t work in game).

thanks man, brilliant and quick response!! ---------- Post added at 07:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:10 PM ---------- I got it, for those who want to know how to do this then: Create a folder called 'Sound' in: My Documents --> Other Arma 2 Profiles --> [Name of your profile] Then just add ogg 44100hz 8 bit MONO CBR 32kilobytes type files in it, but the name of the files are what comes up in the subtitles ingame. Then ingame if you open your customs tab you should have an option of selecting your sound/message.

I have seen this a couple of times, I don’t know if you guys have; but sometimes in CTI 04: Civil War matches the price of a BMP-2 ambulance is $50400 Considering some helicopters are $5000 I think that it's just a tad overpriced ;). I don't know if it's something wrong with my game or it's another bug, but if anyone knows how to set it to its real price (if $50400 is the wrong value) please tell me.

Some AI in villages are thick and do not care if you are at the village's main base. If you can get to the main base like this, you get take it yourself without the help of other units.

i have Speedfan and it says my average temperature without running ArmA 2is 46C - 48C (i don't know if this is a good temperature ) below: ...and while running ArmA 2: i will see if gpu-z and ATITool help me further. From looking at the 'fire' symbol i'm thinking that it is overheating... thz for the info.

After playing 10 - 40mins of ArmA 2 I keep getting a weird CTD and an error about my driver. Here is what I see on screen when it happens: 1) The game freezes and artifacts come up 2) A 'fatal video device driver crash... Infinite Loop caused thread stuck in Device Driver error' error comes up on the desktop (which is in horrible resolution) OR an error about the driver not working properly. 3) No programs can be used so I have to manually switch off the computer Here is my NVIDIA info: And my PC info: My driver has not been damaged. I understand that there is a limited number of solutions out there, but if there is a solution for this problem please post.

When you guys say "expansion". Do you mean a DLC or another retail expansion pack? Also, how much would one of them be?

You could watch this video --> It seems that a pistol is under powered, but a sniper usually kills the enemy in 1 shot (it's hard to tell if you have hit them though).

Just want to know if there is a way to create or/and reinforce existing groups (when you are in high command mode) on campaign. If so, can you select what type (eg. infantry or sniper squad). I seem to keep getting mine wiped out all the time by single enemies on mounted weapons. :pistols: :681:

m5holmez I am in the exactly same position as you! :butbut: Rather than fast forwarding the game by x4 and waiting for the money to increase, I would also like a way to modify the prices or alter the amount of money you earn.
