  1. In the end I decided to use the Six Updater to see if I can get this resolved, unfortunately I get the following errors when I try to update the mod folders.... 15:27:22: = @ACE 15:27:22: Mod is tagged 'disabled' in the configuration file. Skipping... 15:27:23: 15:27:23: = @ACEX 15:27:23: Mod is tagged 'disabled' in the configuration file. Skipping... 15:27:23: 15:27:23: = @ACEX_USNavy 15:27:23: Mod is tagged 'disabled' in the configuration file. Skipping... 15:27:24: 15:27:24: = @ACEX_SM 15:27:24: Mod is tagged 'disabled' in the configuration file. Skipping... 15:27:24: 15:27:24: = @ACEX_RU 15:27:24: Mod is tagged 'disabled' in the configuration file. Skipping... The CBA stuff goes on fine. Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, feel free to move it! I'll try to take this up on the Six Updater forums if possible.
  2. Hi Sickboy, thanks for the input. I often connect to servers running Domination 2 they usually display as running co40 Domi A2! West Revive. as far as I know I don't have to use any switches or have content installed for them to work, it seems to be server side only however it does download the Mission file. Gunther - can you tell me what the RPT is? Remember I'm new to ARMA 2 servers! Many thanks
  3. Yes, Domination 2 ....... duh! OK, thanks for the advice fellas. I gave the -mod=@cba;@ace;@sap a try Gunther and got the error on startup of.... Include file x\cba\addons\main\script_macros_commom.hpp not found As for dedicated, I have a spare server and a 10mb up/down line plus we want the persistant world so we can get back to missions where we left off.

    Smoke/Dust textures corrupt

Yep, its Steam version so has the latest updates. Drivers are up to date, although I imagine not a current as desktop cards.
  6. Hi All, I have a problem running ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA. Basically I get weird corrupt textures on the smoke/dust. Here are some links to screen shots http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542905319899211114/B4B08FB8E6C7559128C2F5320687803559D9E1C2/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542905319899205026/F20E7C9F7F6CDFB9D31F6F3CCF48CF81C6AFFDE2/ I have tried disabling post processing and reducing the graphics to low but no joy. I have no problems with any other games I run (COD-BO, BFBC2, Napoleon Total War etc etc) BUT....and heres the rub....it is a laptop with a Radeon HD6630 graphics card. Now if it ran nothing else I would be none too bothered but everything else is fine and ARMA 2 actually runs beautifully apart from this! So while I know laptops are not really supported, this is the age of gaming spec units so any help would be appreciated. 7. HI All, Firstly I am a bit new to this. Been playing ARMA 2 for some time but only recently discovered the Dominator 2 mod and was very impressed. Also my PC plays it at a good framerate now! :bounce3: I am trying to setup a dedicated server but I am having problems setting it, mainly due to errors when I am trying to connect a client but also I have an error when the server starts. MY cmd line for the server is as follows... "C:\Temp\arma 2\arma2server.exe" -port=2302 -name=default -config=default\server.cfg -cfg=default\Arma2.cfg -profiles=default -mod=@ace;@sap;cba_v0-7-6\@cba Not sure I need all the mods listed there but it recommended them as part of the install. When I run it the first thing it says is.. No entry 'default\Arma2.cfg.3D_Performance' This does not appear to affect it starting once I hit OK and I get 15:23:16 Dedicated host created. 15:23:17 BattlEye Server: Initialized (v1.122) 15:23:17 Host identity created. When I connect a client I get... 15:25:38 chrism uses modified data file - CA 15:25:38 Player chrism connecting. 15:25:39 Player chrism connected (id=6225991). Then once the client picks a mission on the console I get... 15:26:38 Mission co@40 DomiA2! ACE West AI [2.11] read from bank. And thats as far as it gets. The client just hangs there forever or until I press escape. If I pick a standard mission it works fine. Could this be a problem with a CFG file? File structure? I followed the install instructions from here http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Installation and put the missions in the MPMISSIONS folder. Other than that I'm a bit stuck. If anyone has any help I would be most grateful.

    Patch 1.03 Satisfaction Survey

Voted: Bad Since installing 1.03. The sound is mashed, Sounds are distorted frequently ranging from loud to quiet before returning to normal. It is very strange and highly irritating. It appears to be worse when firing a weapon. Was totally fine before the patch. Also appear to be getting worse FPS. That said texture loading on buildings etc seems to be much better. Less stuttering for me. Could do with my sound back to normal though. Carb
  9. Hi, Not sure if this has been covered off already but it would be a nice feature if support weapons could be rested on walls window frames pallets slits in bunkers etc. In turn improving accuracy from kneeling or standing positions. It is a nice feature that is utilised in Tripwires 'Red Orchestra' and 'Darkest Hour'. Not sure how this would be implemented but I would suggest it becomes an option in the action menu when it is placed against a suitable object. Possibly an onscreen icon flashed to let you know it can be used in this area. Cheers Carb

    ArmaHolic ArmA 2 Optimization

How many installations of the game can you have? I have win xp home 32-bit on my old 74gb raptor. I might install the game and see if it runs any better on that. Also I was tinkering with changing the the .exe file name to enable crossfire. I read somewhere doing this can trigger 'fade'. Is this true? I haven't noticed anything to make me post this other than somebody said the aiming is the first thing to go and to be honest I think the aiming is a bit bobbins with the iron sights. Carb

    Grass on or off?

I think that grass should be on definately. I remember the voexl engine from Deltaforce 2 and the grass was awesome in MP. Further DF titles opted for the smooth grassless environment. Thats about the time I stopped playing novalogic gmes. The grass was superb and added an amazing level of camouflage. Tactically it was just brilliant. I haven't played too much Vs style games online yet as I'm still struggling with performance issues. Though seriously looking forward to it. I can imagine interesting sniper style games ensuing, If the distance issues that you mention is sorted. C

    ArmaHolic ArmA 2 Optimization

Hi Folks, The performance on this system is pretty bad. I don't expect to get high frames all the time but at anytime would be of some use. On the single player scenarios I can get up to 50fps. When I play MP campaign or Evolution maps etc then I'm lucky to get 30 FPS. In the menu it is capped at 60 FPS. I have yet to try and pla other MP style games as it stands there is no point as it doesn't not allow me to play the game comfortably. It is an amzing game and I love it just hoping that some useful suggestions for increasing performance will follow. ASUS P5B Deluxe WiFi AP Hiper 730 Watt Type M ATX v2.2 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83mhz 1333 FSB (clocked to 3.6mhz) ATI Powercolor 4870x2 2gb Kingston HyperX 8GB (4x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz 150gb WD Raptor X 150gb WD Velociraptor X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Edition Vista Business 64bit Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" The Graphic options do not allow any performance increase even when on low settings. I can whack them up on high or in some maps Very high and get roughly the same frames. I have V-Sync disabled on my desktop/CCC panel. I have not adjusted the Config file as of yet but I do run with the parameter -winxp. So I would say there is some form of FPS cap to me. Cheers Carb
