Such a shame 20,000 new players to the Arma engine are going to be met with such elitist arseness. Seriously lads, we all love Arma....suck it up and help these guys play the game. Arma has issues, issues we overlook cos we know underneath is a goddamn awesome game engine that lets us play the game whatever way we want. We can mod it, make missions for it, create our own DLC. So rather than being dicks to these new players maybe we should help and point out nicely that we have some other things they might like now that they own the game. Fair few on here look on the new players in a detrimental way but fact is, they are helping to ensure Arma 3 is released and doesnt go down the same road Stalker went. Lets be honest Video games are like music and movies now.....only the popcorn sells and major publishers only care about the popcorn. So for the craic, help the new players? And stop being elitist dicks to them? Dayz is brilliant btw its new way to play games(to Arma players not so much) but the core game mechanic is absent here, you create your own story and your own way to play. Its actually quite brilliant and all Arma players really should play this....if they can get onto a server :)

A modders simple idea proves to be one of the best mods ever made...for any game. Fact he works for BI makes it intriguing. Lets be honest Arma is brilliant without a doubt a brilliant game.....but we are the minority in thinking Arma is brilliant. We have all tried to get others to like it and failed due to the games cumbersome nature. Dayz removes all of that and just makes it simple....people like simple. And as Arma shoots up the steam sales chart bouyed by favourable reviews on top game sites. its obvious simple sells..... Hopefully the elitist community here will take these newbies on board.....but i doubt it.

Sort of the point tho, i was playing earlier and realised myself and other guy wouldnt make it out of a compound. So i shot him stole his gun and ran. The Zombies went for him, i ran away. I think joining a server with Arma Buddies and just trying to meet up somewhere is a brilliant mini game in itself. -

For some reason Arma 2 wont patch. Arma 2 DVD OA Steam They work fine OA is latest version. But got the kids CO off Sprocket and whilst downloading OA i wanted to play a LAN game off Amra 2 with them. My Arma is 1.08 and when i try patch with 1.10 it says its completed but as you can see from the pic, it isnt :confused: Their Arma is 1.10 from Sprocket http://homepage.eircom.net/~kdjac/110.jpg Anyone know whats up? My arma is on D drive.

This really good, on mission 5 and enjoying it a lot. Well done excellent mission. Only issue i had was in the castle the AI wouldnt return fire, they would outside it but not inside. Restart fixed it.

Stopped playing arma for a while but been playing this on your server last 2 days, other than an oopsie in the bouncy castle on wheels great fun, still an excellent mission when played with the right team mates.

How difficult would it be: To lock the ammo box to a small selection of customisable weapons? To lock all vehicles so only pilots can fly, engineers can drive, AT can use AT? Increase the amount of AI at the towns? Make the AI engage at longer distances? Randomis the towns? Liking this island, nice and small and runs perfectly. Another great version on Evo on it.

I voted yes Steam is a very good organiser of games, for mods is fine along with Spirited machines arma launcher but its best to keep your mods on a different HD. The biggest gripe i have with steam is having to download the entire game every time its patched which i assume is a BI issue as no other game has this "feature". Also be nice if steamworks was fully implemented and Join freinds worked.

Something wrong with the AI, they are useless, miss from close range and generally dont do anything other than run away. -
Spirited machines is the best imo.

Performance improves after the mosque, some using Viewdistance changers. This is really really hard, we have failed many many times trying to do this. Brilliant mission well done :)

In fairness he has put evo on a lot of islands with a lot of addons and made very regular updates. Wouldnt say they were "spammed" versions. His version of evolution is very very good. kinda harsh to call it spammed tbh.

what version of CBA is in this mission? we have the latest but when we joined gits server it tells us ours is newer than yours?

This part? It shouldnt really matter, the mission should run well regardless. We normally get 70-90 fps on takistan with any mission but with this we are down to 20. our PCs a lot better than that one. Running on a dedicated server. This mission should be a template like Evolution/Takistan Force/Wheres Waldo/Domination. Its quite brilliant and would work on any offical or IceBreakr map. I would suggest porting it to Lingor.

Played this a few times now and its a very good mission, its very hard and all missions should be this hard. Few of us having serious performance issues tho i would suggest using 2 of Woofy.au scripts to help performance. His clearcorpses script and unit cache due to the nature of this mission having enemies spawn at 1000m actually works.

3 but bedtime came :D I really like this part of the mission and think it could be altered to suit a ladder of sorts. But you would need to have more levels and punish and reward for every plus and minus.
