ARMA II Patch 1.03 & Dedicated Server Released .
--75th--Frost replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I dont usually like to make flame posts, but it is somewhat ridiculous that anyone would find it logical to release a patch without the necessary server files. -
So I recently switched hosts for a dedicated server and have found that my server is no longer populating a server.log file. This has been very useful in banning people after they quit before an admin can take care of them etc. My assumption is that it takes some sort of change to the command line that I can't seem to find. I thought it was -netlog, but I'm pretty sure that's not what I am looking for. So in the end, in the event this isn't even the file I'm looking for, the file basically detailed who joins and quits along with their six digit id. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help ;)

Looking forward to this, out of curiosity will this be included with ACEMod 2? -
We played it last night for our squad night on the 75th Rangers Regiment server. It worked pretty well, exception of when a Hind decided to land in the trees next to us going about 200mph. :) Very good mission overall, however we were having problems with view distances. The view distance was about 1500 or so for everyone on the server, which was sort of aggravating.

Hmmm.... Perhaps I'm doing something wrong =/, I've yet to get it to work
-
Awesome, thanks whisper! I'll have to try it when I get home from work
-
Hmm, I wouldn't think this would be the case. If I'm correct, and I very well may not be, -nograss just points the server towards the mod folder with the specified name and thus loads what is in there. The globalserver.sqf doesn't go in the mod's folder so I didn't think anything like that should be done. Can anyone confirm this? ---------- Post added at 08:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:59 AM ---------- Ahh! Thank you whisper! I look forward to getting it going tonight :)

Amen! We have constant admin cover over at our server.
-
Hmm I tried it but I had no success on my dedicated. Perhaps there is something else I can try?

Remote Control for dedicated
--75th--Frost replied to --75th--Frost's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hmm that's too bad, seems like a rather big problem for it to not have been addressed. Thanks for the info nonetheless. -
Alright, so after exhausting the search abilities of google; I am still empty handed on trying to find a way to manage a dedicated server remotely. I find it hard to believe that the only way to get on the server to administrate things is to restart it, perhaps I am wrong ;). So my questions are: Is there any way to remotely administrate a dedicated server for ArmA 2? Was there any way to do that with ArmA? Thanks in advance!
