  1. Carrier inventory We need an invontory screen to manage which guns and supplies are aboard. Extended stockpile/production queue management I would like the possibility to recycle unused equipment back to raw matierial; maybe at a cost of fifty percent. Deck gun artillery Ability to target designate a location on the map for artillery missions (deck shell).
  2. Oops, didn't relalize that. Did you mention it in your original post?
  3. Seems that going back in time, in the sense of going back to previously visited storyline islands, is a bad idea. Seems that early story missions scrips are triggered again when you revisit those islands. I for one will avoid that in my campaign.
  4. Hi there, I finally got my retail copy today, installed fine. When starting the games it wants me to put in my key which is on the back of the printed manual. When I filled that key in, CC wants to activate via internet connection? What the heck is going on here? Has anyone got an idea to to activate without an internet connection? German retail copy, publisher is Morphicon.

    Tips & Tricks for Noobs

Maybe for the REDFOR but not for the player. Just look at a destroyed Walrus garage or a Manta hanger after you took over an island: mouse context indicates inoperable.

    Tips & Tricks for Noobs

Maybe they will rebuild, but it will take a while after you took the island. Yes, you can take them out. But as your are told in the tutorial this will not have a positive effect on hacking time for the CC so you may ignore them as well. See point one for rebuilding and becoming operable again.
  7. So what has this to do with original topic?
  8. That's easy: go to the map, click on your target island (the one you want the stockpile to move to), on the left side of the island info screen are two tabs, click on the second one. There are options to change the islands function inc. "set up stockpile". Have fun ...

    Mod Script Findings

Well, was worth a try ...
  10. This has been talked about more than once on different occasions and BI's statement on that matter has been rather clear: too complicated to handle and not likely to happen!
  11. As someone playing OFP/Arma for ages now I'm used to constant updates, patches, and betas. And I quite like the way BIS handles patching and supporting mods. And yes, it would occasionally require you to update your mods to account for the new/changed functionality. But the devs handle changes in the code base really openly around these forums and on the bug trackers. It's not a deal breaker.
  12. And I certainly commend you on that. :) I'm not a strategy game fan at all but CCGM is a lot of fun right now though I do wait for the SDK to have some more fun. IMHO the SDK will extend the fun not start it.

    Mod Script Findings

Did you try to use the -load switch with a packed mod file?

    Helicopter Flight Mechanics

So you did it with digital "collective"? This is really more like a "heigt adjustment above ground". Try again with analogue controls. Flight model is a rather simplified one in Arma II.
  15. I got a sinking carrier cutscene, but no animation. It only get's triggered if you set up your strategy mode start values with "Enemy carrier destroyed required = NO" for me. Maybe there is a bug somewhere ...
  16. Why don't you do it then? Just use shft click ...

    (Advice) Rendered Frames Ahead

Yes, config setting is sufficient. And btw it is only needed to set one setting, the other is read by the engine (info) once Arma starts; so no need to set the config to "read only". If Tray Tools are installed you don't need CCC; I deinstalled it two years ago ...

    (Advice) Rendered Frames Ahead

That's where the Arma config settings come in handy, no? ATI tray tools has. Forget CCC.

    Carrier Deck Guns

    - I allways get a shell on the bow in strategy mode. Maybe it's a matter of game start conditions? - Yes, but the other way around. Shell can't be reinstalled. No Workaround so far.

    Boring enemy Carrier AI

Well, once in Strategy mode I stumbled upon it; while sailing to one of my islands I got the "island under attack" message while in time warp. It had just deployed all off its units and started an attack on my unprepared carrier instantly. Was a close call ... I guess, AI plays by the same rules as the human player. The carrier seems a little faster though, maybe to compensate for the lack off prediction. What I would like to see is, that carrier battle would last a little longer and take place at somewhat longer ranges. And the carriers are to fast; cut their speed into half. As is now in an head to head engagement you will pass each other and be out of visible range before you can manoever ...

    Carrier Deck Guns

Thanx for confirming. I think it's a bug actually. Since I found out about this, I only ever manufacture Flaks for the rear turrets because the Plasma is useless against the enemy carrier (you nearly have to ram it before the Plasma fires) and the Flak gun has some strange range limitation. The Quads though can handle air and ground targets pretty well.

    Carrier Deck Guns

That actually never works for me. Tried it multiple times also for Quads/Flaks. The weapon with the higher "value" allways stays, the other newly build vanishes ... that's in strategy mode. Never tried it that way, seems like a good idea though.
  23. Against the wide spread opinion around here I don't think the pathfinding is that bad I've seen worse vehicle AI pathfinding in early Arma 2, especialy trucks :). I've been playing from the tactical map a lot lately and normally they get their job done. I lost one Walrus in a lava river on Magma, a few times they got stuck on a cliff or the pier. But what you can see from the tactical map is that waypoint are dynamically created between the position of the unit and the final waypoint. And sometimes they are created behind a unit. That's even true for Mantas. So increasing completion radius and distance from units present position to dynamically created waypoints may do the trick.
  24. On the other hand I startet a hammerhead yesterday on a not yet explored island and it found it's way to the previously undiscoverd command center just fine. Felt a bit like a cheat. Note, that I didn't start a single unit before ...
  25. Well, I hate to admit it, but I wanted to play this games so much that I just put a plug into my router; system is downloading 101 updates right now and meanwhile the activation was succesful. Thank you very much for your excellent support. You always get some help on these forums even if it's the "motivational" kind ... :) On a side note: you should really motivate your publishers to add a note on their packaging about the online activation! There will be complaints.
