True, but "international" is a moot point. Even if it were a server that only allowed IPs from countries with freedom of speech, it still wouldn't matter. As long as you're posting on a forum hosted on someone else's server, you're playing by their rules. It'd be like complaining that you got kicked off of someone's property. Back on topic, I assume that since Chomp hasn't posted back, he probably got his game and has been playing like a madman. :biggrin_o:

Yep, I forgot to mention that. He's done one hell of a job showcasing the potential of the game, for sure.

It would probably increase the size of the game by a lot too. I don't have the game yet, but isn't the number of possible combinations insanely high? I suppose they could string together a few of the more commonly linked words though, without having to worry about the whole sentence. Still, as TLove mentioned, it would just require that much more developer time that could otherwise be spent on more important things.

:icon_lol: I've also passed his videos on to a few people, and they've helped sell at least 2 more copies. I got a kick out of the fact that he had to pack his PC in ice to keep it from melting once he got to 1,700 AI.

I suppose it's a matter of preference, but try this experiment DieterWeber: Pick a small spot on your screen - just a few pixels. Move your cursor to that exact spot as quickly as you can with a mouse. Now do the same with an analog stick on a gamepad. I'd be amazed if you could do it as quickly and accurately, no matter how accustomed you are to a gamepad. ...and to further Radioactive's point, compare the number of buttons on a gamepad to the number of keys on a keyboard (particularly a gaming keyboard). I'm not trying to sound like a PC-snob but you have to admit, it is a far more sophisticated method of control while playing infantry. Of course there are also certain things that a keyboard and mouse aren't very good with, such as flight. [Edit] Other way around, you mean? I would say there aren't enough, personally.

Partially destroyed buildings in ArmA2... good, bad?

I can't answer any questions as I don't have the game yet, but I wanted to point out this YouTube vid I saw the other day that shows the different stages of building destruction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEGqQ4quLJM -
Vista Troubleshooting Thread: The one and only
Finios replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hiyas, I'm eagerly awaiting ArmA 2's release here in North America (pre-ordered on Steam). I never got around to playing the first ArmA, so I figured I'd check out the demo to help pass the time and familiarize myself a bit with the series. My main menu looks identical to the screenshot Kleer posted. The -windowed switch doesn't work, and I don't believe the -maxmem=512 switch works either. This is probably because I'm running the demo, which is using a very early version of the game (1.06 I believe?) I downloaded it from Gamershell. I forced my max RAM to 3072 in msconfig but that didn't help. I've also tried running in compatibility mode for XP, and I have UAC off. I also created a profile for the demo's exe in my nVidia control panel, and changed all my settings to 'application controlled', although not all of the settings have this option. Maybe some of the settings that don't have that option are causing the problem. Here's my specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 8 gigs of DDR2 Vista 64 Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R Is there a more recent version of the demo anywhere? Any help would be appreciated.
