I don't need realism, that's what I have to endure with at job and so forth every day.A break from realism in moderate proportions, that's what I need. In many coop missions one can choose amount of lives available so that should be fine for hc gamers. Shit, I'm a father of a 3 year old boy... I can play scarcely once a week with my squad m8s. When I have that time, I want to enjoy it and not grind my teeth and start trashing the place 'cos missus won't like it. :rolleyes: What I love about revives is that it gives your friends an option to show they care about you when coming to rescue you under heavy fire. THAT's friendship. I'll choose friendship over realism.

OK, simple thing really. Did not find searching yet. When my outro in mission ends it displays an error "undefined variable camera" or something like that. Do I have to specify that in init file as "camera = true;" ?

Could this explain the odd thing I encountered last night whilst testing my yet to be released mission? I had no PROPER mod in server but as player had the vegitation one enabled. I was trying to take out a tunguska but after the M136 round it took off and drove in nearby forest in which it suddenly vanished (Isla del Vassal) I followed it but it was just no more there. After awhile the marker changed indicating it destroyed. :j: Spooky shit....

I find it a tad shortsighted when people are already announcing here that ArmA2 is dead and so on. I'm not gonna purchase DR due personal reasons I'll not go deeper now but I have no doubt it can be a helluva fun game for consoles for example (I have also PS3 and can appreciate those) but the beauty of ArmA series is that they're a perfect sandbox created for serious gamers who are willing to participate more than just whining on forums. Yes, it has flaws but they'll be sorted. Just played ArmA last night and enjoyed it's smoothness and beauty. The original OFP was critisized often for it's odd graphics but it was those graphics that suited it perfect and made it possible to have such an open world to explore. Another common thing here that's causing me gray hair is people saying they don't know what's going on in a mission. For some odd reason people don't bother to read briefings and the situational awareness for some is just not there. Is it the "tube shooters" to blame I don't know... So, for those declaring deaths for some games: I can hear heavy breathing inside my thermaltake case.... it must be ArmA1 & 2... All the "tactical shooters" have been uninstalled and are lifeless in closet. :rolleyes:

Well, I suggest you get to know the editor and find the right addon units and begin to make that scenario m8. It's good to see some genuine enthusiastic comments for awhile instead of pointless moaning. Happy for you :)

I've converted 8 of my A1 missions so far but they need still more tuning / testing. I will release them when I'm happy with result.

That command is your friend here. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setCaptive Just place in his init line: removeAllWeapons this;this setCaptive true; When you want the situation to change just set it as false again. -

I gave them also permission to use my "Hijack" mission for possibly same issue. The only downside is that they refused to send me a copy but promised to send me the story as a pdf. (Never got that though) -

Well, if you use norrins revive you could use the execVM sections at bottom of revive_init.sqf to have it re-enabled upon revive/spawn. Or you could specify the code with each playable unit name in init.sqf and use it with "killed" eventHandler? (Can't remember now how it was done, sorry) -
The best achievement in game is when you keep your team m8 alive next to you. No matter what rank he/she is. Right?

Just as with ArmA1 BIS has given us a sandbox to use. Ok, I've moaned about some issues as well but it doesn't change the fact that this community made ArmA1 eventually a pearl. This will happen with ArmA2 as well. Modern players are sooo impatient :rolleyes: (yeah, me too sometimes)

Well, in the sqm they were defined as "SlodierEB" etc as in arma1 However in original mission they were partisan troops from QG. But when previewing in editor I checked with camera that all of them were changed as CDF troops. That's why they shot the spawned UPS units. I just thought it was funny seeing them gunning down the spawned units in a pile. Changing them manually was no big deal. Oh, one more thing I had to adjust were the height set for some units set upon made bunkers.In original they had the height correct but in conversion they were knee deep in bunker roof. Again, no big deal changing that. (from 3.25 to 3.60) I don't mind the small issues m8. This is just fantastic. I had Xmas last night. :) -

Installed this yesterday and it works brilliant! :bounce3: I started converting some of my ArmA1 missions. (Gonna release a pack later) Some findings beside the obvious changes with briefing/revive/Bas_f/triggers etc: In a mission where I had enemy as partisan troops using the UPS the created additional patrols were shot by the host patrol. I then opened the sqm and manually changed the troops as ArmA2 insurgents with search/replace function.No problems after that. Anyway. Top notch work with this guys!! I even tweaked my texture settings higher and it just ran fluent. :D
