  1. Hello, I have recently setup a dedicated server on Windows. It was working fine. Yesterday, I ran the update command, and some files were downloaded. I run the server and it still shows up as version 1.60. Is the dedicated server not available yet for 1.62? If it is, does anyone have any ideas why I am not updating to it? Cheers! EDIT: FIXED Found the problem. I had an install on a different drive that the SteamCMD batch file was point at. It was getting updated, not the current one I was using. All fixed now. If mods want to delete, this post that's cool.
  2. Got it. That is probably the issue. To correct then would you suggest to set the download to go to the 'D:\Games\Arma3\A3Master' instead of D:\A3Server? Thanks again!!
  3. Thanks terox, I have done those things before. I found them in the troubleshooting thread. I ran update again and got this message: CWorkThreadPool::~CWorkThreadPool: work complete queue not empty, 1 items discarded. CWorkThreadPool::~CWorkThreadPool: work processing queue not empty: 25 items discarded. . Your ArmA 3 server is now up to date key "ENTER" to exit Press any key to continue . . . Here is my config file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9167778/CONFIG_server.cfg Cheers! 4. Thanks for the reply. I get the idea of a dedicated server. For some reason that process ends right then. I see a splash screen for a bit, can see the process running, and memory getting allocated, then it just stops. Process ends, and memory gets freed up. This is the arma3server process. No console window is ever opened though... It displays (in the Arma Splash screen), 'loading core configs' 'loading add-ons', 'initializing addons', then 'loading profile' right after that it stops. If there are any of my other config files that would help to troubleshoot some more, please let me know. Cheers!
  5. Wondering if I could get some help. I have used the tutorials to try to setup a dedicated server on a Windows 7 PC. It downloaded the game successfully using steamcmd. I am just trying to run it clean with no mods at this point. Here is my command line: D:\a3server\arma3server.exe "-profiles=d:\Games\Arma3\A3Master" -port=2302 -config=CONFIG_server.cfg -world=empty -mod= When I start the server, the splash screen shows for a bit and then just stops. Here is my rpt file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9167778/arma3server_2016-06-30_00-14-22.rpt I would appreciate any suggestions to get this up and running. If there is a more appropriate place to request help, please let me know. Cheers!
  6. Placebo, you might want to give Dwarden a nudge to update the official Steam FAQ with this info. Having beta patches not supported (until now) was a deciding factor in many (including myself) not buying off of Steam. Cheers!
  7. I use the following code in init.sqf for the ACM module: waitUntil {!isNil {BIS_ACM getVariable "initDone"}}; waitUntil {BIS_ACM getVariable "initDone"};
  8. I don't have that registry entry. I am running TrackIR5 beta, and Win 7 64bit RC if that matters. I had TrackIR 4 installed, then installed 5, and then uninstalled 4. I wonder if that process removed that reg entry. What is the value of that entry, just the path to the .exe? If so, is it just a string value. I will try to manually create it to see if that works. Cheers!
  9. Do you have to do anything special to get it to auto start trackir? That checkbox is greyed out for me. Otherwise, working nicely!
  10. Rainbow, Did that work for you? Also, how is High Command running on a dedi server? Any problems? Cheers!
  11. Just an FYI for Canadians looking for a copy. I ordered mine from NWS Online (mentioned earlier in this thread), and received it in 10 days and there was no additional duty/customs charges upon delivery. Cheers!

  13. Read through the Steam FAQ thread, yes it is 100% currently. Although, I would expect this will be fixed in the future. The reason it worked for Arma1 is because copy protection was removed in patch 1.08, so beta patches after that on Steam were cool.
  14. I was ready to buy off Steam, (actually I did, preorder). I cancelled before release due to the statement the currently Steam doesn't support beta patches, which was a deal breaker for me. I am sure they will figure this out, but for now, say if a beta patch was released tomorrow, the Steam version wouldn't support it. Hence I ordered from NWS Online. my .02
  15. icfhoop, I ordered from NWS (I am in Canada), and I ordered on the 25th, and got my shipping notification on the 30th. I had some emails back and forth with Christopher there who was extremely helpful and said there would be a delay to ship it due to waiting on supply from 505 games. He said he should have stock on the Monday, and Tuesday at 6:00AM, I got a shipping notification. If you are curious, just send them an email and ask them if they have stock, and when they are expecting stock. I expect to get my copy today or tomorrow, I will post when I receive it to give you guys an idea on actual shipping time to Canada from them. Cheers!!
  16. Right, but on the Steam forums you stated: "using 1.16beta with ArmA 1 is no issue on STEAM at all as the copy protection was removed ..." So that would leave me to believe that the reason (or part of the reason) why the beta patches worked was due to the removal of copy protection by BIS in one of the earlier official patches (1.08 I think). Anyway, it doesn't answer the question. I just hope they are supported by Steam for the sake of all the other players, again, it is too late for me. Cheers!
  17. I was going to leave the whole subject around beta patches alone, but I can't after this statement... Saying that giving a proper answer on support for beta patches, which are known in how they are implemented by BIS (ie Arma1) is absurd, is pretty irresponsible and disrespectful of your customers. If everyone buying from Steam had full realization of what it meant to NOT have support for beta patches on Steam they would have cancelled their preorders (as I did last night). I hated to cancel, and I was really hoping for a better answer that I could count on, but I couldn't risk having to possibly pick up another copy of the game if Steam didn't work with the beta patches, hence, not working on 90% of the online servers. Again, very disappointed, and on top of that it is delaying me getting the game, and will likely cost me more to get it (I am in Canada). my .02, fwiw.
  18. I posted the question about the beta patches with the Steam version on the Steam forums and Dwarden responded that they will see what they can do. This isn't very promising, and it would be nice to have a stronger answer while there is still time to cancel a preorder with them...
