Any server admin is in his rights to do what he wants as he or his clan are the ones paying hundreds of ££££ every month to rent that server so if some retard comes on starts shooting stuff he shouldnt/ not following the mission they are doing and goes off and not working as a team and generaly anything else that would spoil the paying members of that servers gaming fun then they are totaly entitled to kick/ban the said player. end off!

I wouldnt know ive never used kegertys to make paa files. But I would suggest when you come on a forum asking for help you dont make sarcastic comments as you will find very little help of others

I agree get yourself a clan, I locked our server after 2 days of the german release due to morons joining so now with a locked server and a good bunch of lads we can get down to some serious but good for a laugh gaming.

what arma.cfg you using [KH]Jman? Ive played about with it but every now and again I'm getting a Desync spike that lasts 30-60 seconds other than that like you say 30 player doesnt run to bad but I would have imagined if I ramped our server up to 50 the Desync I'm seeing would get worse Our server specs are Windows Server 2003 Intel Q6700 4Gb DDR2 Memory 100Mbit connection Also running Firedaemon with infinity set to all 4 cores and priority set to above normal Would be interesting to see what your nic settings are as well as a comparision to see if tweaking those makes much difference.

50+ server with no lag = no chance :D Not with the games netcode you will be lucky to get a 30man server to run with no lag. minimum server specs I would say it Quad 2.44Ghz with 4gig memory but thats just my oppinion.

Create ArmA2.exe shortcut if you dont have one on your desktop and edit it by right clicking it and then click properties and then in the target line you will have something like this "x:\....\ArmA2\arma2.exe" -maxmem=2048 -nosplash -nosplash gets rid of the splashscreens at the start of the game. and try that

I think arma had similar problems running with vista64 and more than 3gig memory not sure what the fix is though other than try taking a stick of memory out or maybe try the -maxmem line in the command prompt

Have you right clicked the shortcut and tried running it in different compatibility modes? If so unlucky :( looks like a os upgrade might be needed just an edit I can get mine to run on Windows NT4 mode if you have that option

Their are also a few more tweaks you can do to improve performance if you know what you are doing. 1. assign memory to your nic car irq by editing your system.ini folder 2. tweak the tcp settings 3. turn off any un-necessary processes 4. run your server as a process that way you can set the priority and affinity (firedaemon is a good bit of software for this) 5. depending on what your server hosters switch is set at you can play about with the tx settings in your nic properties. just a few things to think about but like I said dont do anything unless your sure of what you are doing as it can make things equally worse Also remember to do one tweak at a time and write down what you did as this makes things easyer to reverse afterwards. Its just taken me 2 days to tweak our server to the point where I'm fairly happy with it.

i can help but I dont want to give access to my box for security reasons but if you are willing to trust me and give me access to your box i can get them for you of ours i already have an ftp up for our files for arma2 as i'm helping our server hosters out at the moment with them plus i dont want to give anyone access due to making sure they are going on a dedy for server reasons only

Can u network the laptop to the pc? If so then you could transfer the installation files across and then copy your registry files over and that should work

It would be nice for BI to confirm if these are still the default settings on arma2 or are using a different set of configs? :confused:
