  1. I have a weird problem. When I get advised back to the FOB after loss of radio contact wi the other squad on the base, when I approach the top of the hill ( after clearing up the section of enemy troops at the gate) I always get shot. OK you might think I'm just hopeless at OFP ARMA etc but this is wierd, after about 10 atttempts ( from 148M to around 130M to the FOB waypoint) i still get shot from somthing which sounds like a sniper at short range. I've tried smoke, everything. I've even tried to send the rest of the AI razor team to the FOB and they get into the base fine but as soon as I switch or follow them I get shot from this invisible unit. It's uncanny. Not one member of my squad spots this ghost unit which kills me eveytime ( but not them). Has anyone else had this. I wouldnt normaly post but It seems as though this could be a bug, CDF player turns against USMC player?. Just to reiterate, I cannot reach the top of the FOB without getting kille! :(
  2. Hello This is how I usually operate in single player missions. Decent sized squad to about 8 and make sure their skill is maxed-up (so they are as good as possible). Keep your AI troops close so they cover you. Run from cover to cover. I love playing capture and hold village missions in editor, its got a good simple method to it. Use smoke when you in the open and don't take risks, it's amazing how you can get carried away. The AI in ArmaII for the most part are pretty smart, when a number of their sqaud has been killed they stay back and wait for you with a PK around a corner, so be carebul and always use '. del' number pad key to look around you. Using Q and E also help to peep round corners but don't use the lavishly, bullet recognition is very good and if your peeping round a fence a high caliber round would kill you :) Hope this helps
  3. Hello Everyone just to give a little guidance to AMD users who are thinking about upgrading their chip. I have a 2 year old (maybe older infact) 4600+ 2.40 Ghz x2 which runs Arma2 with Normal/High setting at 27-40 average frame rates ( apart from in certain camping missions) My other specs are; 4 gig DDR2 6400+ RAM and HD4870 512 MB. Overall I'm VERY pleased with the performance I'm getting and hope this gives a good impression to anyone else who is thinking about buying a £1000 +system just to run one game. Sure, it's not future proof in the slightest as my mobo is only AM2, but its doing the trick nicely. Hope this helps RainF
  4. I'm posting a new topic because the first impressions thread's getting a little off-topic from the last time I looked. The game is a triumph, absolutely fantastic, 100% improvement from Arma ( don't want to dwell on it too much but it was sluggish and just hard work) Operation flashpoint (I've played flashpoint ever since 2001, in fact, when the multilayer demo was released) has been completely re-captivated and improved on, everything is smooth and spot on. I know there's a few bugs out there but in reality they are very minor and in my opinion it's just frightening how good this game will be on come later this month. It's a real achievement and when the game is on the market after 505 release theres no reason why It wont take off like OfP. Tastes vary but it blows the COD and BF series out of the water in terms of pure originality and effort. I really hope this release get the recognition it deserves in the mainstream.

    ArmA 2 Soundtrack

does anyone know if Arma II has the classic soundtrack, you know the one, the one at the start of the OfP campaign, it was on one of the Arma II trailors as well. That was classic:p
  6. Hello Everyone, weird isn't it? That's what what I'm getting. Anywhere outside cities I'm getting 25-40 ( 60 - 70 in places) But on the 3rd campaign mission where you have to go into the city i'm getting 10-15 - useless. I can take the video settings right down to low and nothing improves (if anything reducing the settings can actually reduce performance in this case) My rig: AMD 4600+ X2 2.4 Ghz ( AM2) 4 GB DDR2 6400 RAM HD 4870 512 750 GB SATA HD 550W PSU I'm playing the game on 1048x 768 , with everything on normal with 125 fillrate and PP on 'high'. It looks fairly pretty. Reckon It might be worth overclocking the CPU? Cheers
