    What is a good FPS rate?

    30 fps is ok 40 fps is great Remember that 30 fps should only happen when theres lot of happening on screen. If it drops sightly under it will definitely effect your game experience. Well if your monitors refresh rate is creater than 60Hz... then there is some sense having over 60fps.

    Demo works fine with Windows 7 RC 64bit build 7100 Dont know about fps. About XP... some years ago there was same kind of talk of DOS OS and Win98/2000. Its natural that XP dissapears soon.

    ArmA II Game Of The Year Nomination?

    Voted also no. Not as its current status. But this game has lot of potential to be game of the year. Will see how much Bohemia is ready to change and fix game.

    ArmA 2 Demo feedback

    - Few crashes sometimes. So game still needs patches. - Game sometimes stops to receiving data from server when trying to enter battle. - Also lightning is messed up on some objects. - General performance needs always attention. Some wishes: - Smoother movement. Not faster, Smoother! - Increase crash and bushes draw distance. People are hiding in middle of plain land, when they think they are hidden. - Let player stop some action like reloading or climping over object. Edit: Even that soldier would carry 100kg with him hi can still move smoothly, but not stop or start moving instantly or make instant turns.
  5. Dont want to make new topic so I use this one. Its about jumping also. In BF 1942/2/2142 characters had hard time getting over low obstacles like: going from road to sidewalk or going over railroad rail or going over small rock. Character usually had to jump over, even that obstacle is only few inch high. Does ArmA 2 has this kind of problem?
  6. Well in one other forum 1 guy said to me this: ArmA 2 is PC based game. OFP 2 is console based game. This means, even if they would make OFP 2 better than ArmA 2. -> OFP 2 will have lots of limitations that you dont have to worry in ArmA 2.

    Graphics engine improvement

    Just looked some screenshot from Steam and noticed how clear ground was from helicopter. Flat colored plate where few trees and largest bushes. No high grass or small bushes? Infantry will be really easy targets for helicopters. Or how about tanks in long distance? Are they going to see infantry running on clear ground, when infantry thinks his in well covered high grass?
  8. I think OP is talking about how smoothly character moves around, not how fast. I hated OFP 1 and ArmA only because bad movement. Everything was like operating some robot not living person. And soldiers full combat gear is heavy, yes. and makes moving slow, but NOT robotic. Also stopping/sprinting should not be instant. Going to prone should be fast but standing up slow.
