Hi, I`m looking for a new friends to play with online in Arma 2. I`m a fan of Battlefield 2/Battlefield series. Yestarday i found a mission called "Battlefield 2 vs Arma 2" actually it`s a total representation of Battlefield 2 but with arma graphics ,phisics and realism ,EXTREEMLY COOL,i was playing with my friend yesterday and we found it just amaizing , it plays like Battlefield 2 alot of action, tons of fun,capture the flag mode.The only problem is ,there is not much people at the moment we can play with , we foght against bots and 3 other real man player, what i`m asking you for if you have any interest in playing with as and you want to feel Battlefield 2/series action in Arma 2. Plz PM me your MSN/ICQ . So we can contact each other and arrange the meeting and become a good friends. My friend runs the sever on fast machine. Mission can handle by so far 24 player 12 on each side, and fill the battle up to 60-80 AI bots if needed ,we have normal setting by no is 35 Ai bots. In the end we are aiming for filling the server with just a man up to 60-80 Real man players. See you in battle. -=I WANT YOU=-

Long loading of the mission solved , have just restarted the computer , after i installed the patch i`ve tried to run ded server wich was crashed for no reasons, probably server was still running somehere hidden in processes and used my cpu , wich caused the dramatical decrease in loading speed :) Awesome patch BIS no complains ,KEEP IT UP ,looking forward for more fixes:) P.S. my CPU is used only for 14%-20% all the time even with cpucount=4 and exThread=7 , how can i load it on 3/4th ? -

Why would i overact? i say like it is ,first time mission is loading very slow ,with cpucount=4 loads abit better. By the way long loading found place only after i`ve installed new beta.FPS is increased what makes me happy. -

With last 2 beta patches i got higher fps finaly have around 23-25 what makes game playable without lags :) , but the mission loading is dramaticly slowed down for me . Before i was looking at the loading screen for around 1-2 minutes ,now i do around 12-15 minutes if i load mission for the first time!!!!!! Patch fixes some problems and addes new :( Anyway good job BIS ,glad to see your working on Arma 2 , keep it up in this tempo :) -

SO you guys want to tell me that my CPU : Intel Core 2 Quad with 2.6Ghz isn`t good anough . P.S. i`m not telling you that A2 have to move on Cryengine 2/3 or what ever engine ,i`m just giving an examples between 2 game engines how they can handle the lighting ,etc,etc. THe last thing i want to say to not keep this huge battle in this thread , i wish that A3 will be more user friendly , not so NASA computer dependant to run it without lags and have a good graphic quality presented in it wich have to be balanced , for example models in A2 are high quality , VFX/muzzleflashes and lighting are horribl and not soft to look at, the eye feeling have to be good in overall. And yes i really want to thank all the community modders that have fixed some bugs improved the game added new features such as flares and all that stuuf wich makes game more user friendly and makes it funnier to play. And by the way you tell me Arma 2 is very CPU dependant and Crysis GPU well combine this 2 features and get a perfect game :) LOL I`ve noticed some of the people reacted very angry on what i`ve written , please don`t be ,chill out/relaaax :) All i wanted is just to understand why A2 came out so crappy on it`s day release and is still lagging. If you don`t like the things i`ve said here , don`t take it close to your hart , i have my opinion like all of you do , and sometimes truth is hard . However I say all the best to BIS and may we support them on making an A3 on a very high level. Goodluck all :) CHAO :) -

totally agree, How can you explain then the amount of lags/bugs and low FPS? Crysis i can run on a veryhigh settings without anyproblems , A2 i can barrely run on Normal and still have fps like 15-18 and in forrests 9-10. "Deveplopers dont need no other engine" Take a look at Crytek a good comapny to have a look at . Cryengine 1 / Cryengine 2 , wanna know the difference Cryengine 2 was written from a scratch. The technical solutions they used are brilliant , like: -3d bump ,yes looks like 3d model of stone but it`s a texture -Not rendering any models/polygons that are not in players visibility -Lighting what Arma doesn`t have at al , personally as 3d artist i can`t call it a lighting/light -Textures of vegitation ,still can see the enemy through leaves, beautifull textures and have no lag -Explosions/muzzleflashes are awesome, A2 have worsest muzzleflashes and explosions i`ve ever seen , beside that they provide enormous drop in FPS , just blow up a building bring lots of dust in the air and you`re running on 4-10 fps. The optimization of visuals is horrible, feel like developers do not even try to spend eninge resources in proper effecient way. -CQ that in my opinion totaly not exist in A2 -Interaction between weapons and surrounded enviroment, A2 have worset interaction in my opinion of all the games i`ve played , that crazy scroll menu kills me:"Ok i want to switch to Igla AA launcher, :scroll:>:scroll:>:scroll: Ops shit no,no,no it`s abit higher :scroll:>:scroll:>MMB , Congratulations you`ve been killed because you was too slow" Have never spend that much time to coordinate my movement and switching weapons , do we also spend same amount of time in real life on thinking about taking a next movement/picking a right gun/getting into a vehicle answer is no we just do it and very quick. In all other game the way you move/animations/interaction is soooo smoooooooth, just pleasure to play it. I can keep on teling you what A2 needs to be a complete game , still in my opinion current state of A2 is nothing more then beta quality , even BFBC2 beta was muuuuuuuuuuuch better then final A2 with 1.05 and beta patches other it. One thing for sure, i hope BIS have learned their lesson ,what can happend if you bring out the game thats soo...... lablabla crappy Still love A2 and trying to close my eyes on all the bugs and lags that BIS have provided me with in hope that BIS will make on one day a new game that will take all the best from other games and keep soul of Arma series. -

You guys probably forgot that BIS have way enough money (from selling VBS2 over 1,5 million copies to military wich delivers them lots and lots of money) to buy CryEngine 3 if they are to lasy to develope new good engine by them self. My final word , if BIS will decide to keep just tweaking their current engine and not writing new one wich will fit into the next-generation game engines , Arma 3 will be an EPIC fail , even worser than A2 on it`s release because A2 engine just can`t handle all the stuff BIS try to put into a game, it`s TOO OLD. P.S. "Fudgeblood" if people at BIS have the same taste like you and don`t like to move\take new steps in development and explore the new worlds ,just sitting on one place and be happy with what they have. IF IT`S SO Probably A2 was the last massive selling title BIS shipped to the shops. -

I suggest that BIS write a complitely new engine for A3 , cause current engine which has been used in OFP,Arma,Arma 2 is way to old (10 years) and have reached it`s limitations. Have never seen a single game developer who`s been using the same engine for 10 years.I think this could be a good start to make Arma 3 a top noch game. -

Arma 2 1.05 patch fu*%cks the whole mod and not allowing game to start with such great mod cuz some of dum^&ss have decided to change classname of a "Civilian" unit.(BIS shame for that ,you don`t fix the problem with flares and don`t give others to use them .I want my flares back! Show me the helicopter that don`t iuses the flares in war!?) Guys,great mod,sorry for that 1.05 makes it unplayable :( -

Hi everyone ,i have modded a Zonnekiller`s mission Battlefield 2 Chernorus and made from it more close combat mission ,thx to Zonekiller for helping me out with mission issues :) If some of you have ever played Battlefield 2 (map "Strike at Karkand"/Sharqi Penisula) they will understand what mission goes over, mission is as good as for infantry combat and tank battles , just BF2 style i have tried to balance everything,CHECK IT OUT ,you`ll like it, the only problem is mission works best if you run it on PVP only without AI but where do we find 48 players? :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update: v1.28 Changelog: -Added New building in Chernogorsk -Added Flares to a choppers -Added fastrope function to a choppers -Units has been changed for better and cooller look -Added combat area. -Added Xeno`s Backpack Required: -@bf2 addon pack (only the best mods has been puted together for better gaming experience,some changes has been applyed to some of them) If you run any mods ,switch following mods off: (Following mods are included in @bf2 addon pack): -@CBA;@RKSL;@fastrope; Notes: -If you running misson on Dedicated server ,do not forget to add @bf2 addon into shortcut of "Dedicated server console". -To avoid any issues i do suggest you to restart the mission at the start after 1 minute of playing ,so all scripts can get loaded for 100% for sure. -Mission has revive in it, all you`ve got to do is stand near your dead friend/soldier after 20-30 sec he`ll be revived automaticly :) Issues: -If you experience night at mission start just rejoin your unit/soldier by clicking on "Abort" / "Suspend" in Esc menu and everything will be fine! Ka-50 and Ka-52 are the best choppers in the world , mi28 aswell.In game Ka-52 is best attack heli. -

Well i can offer onyl one thing by so far it`s Battlefiled 2 Chernogorsk CTF mode ,mission up to x48 PVP (players).Mission is balanced well and most of the battle find place in Chernogorsk just ,the only problem is to organize a server with 48 players on it, everyone is playing EVO and Domination and not looking any further that that(on other missions). Today or tomorrow gonna release v1.25 of "Battlefiled 2 Chernogorsk (CTF)[x48PVP]". -
I thoght about the cannon and the way we can control it . Th way i did it in BF2(CTRL & SHIFT to control cannon): I arma 2 i think we can make it different way, chopper need to be in Hover mode , only then the cannon can be activated as movable. Or you don`t need to put chopper in hover mode and this cannon is linked to the head of player so you can switch to the scope and rotate it with mouse activating cannon movements by pressing "*" button or double "Alt" same as in chopper then you can rotate head ,so basicly you`re controlling cannon by rotating your head . But i don`t how hard it is to script.

The chopper looks definetly a waaaaaaaaaaay better then the optimized version for bf2 ,which i used to make about a year ago. :) Good JOB randy ,can`t wait to fly this baby :) Tried to fly it,love weapon loadout.P.S. cannon sounds amaizing :)

I have just renamed mission it to "BattleField2_Chernogorsk_48pvp.Chernarus"cause it works better with Mission editor .Mission editor don`t like long names,but it`s still CTF ,just the name is not the same, and it`s the most updated version "BattleField2_Chernogorsk_48pvp.Chernarus" wich supports up to 48 player, and if there on one day we will get this mission online with 48 man on it without AI, it would be awsome battle.Just like battlefield 2 ,but with realism and better graphics :)
