  1. Hello everyone, thanks for keeping up to date with the Invasion 1944 thread. A little treat for those German sniping fans among you... I bring you the ZF41 scope (Yes, we do plan on making the ZF42 also ;) ) Enjoy! http://imageshack.us/a/img571/1360/luyc.jpg (1103 kB) http://imageshack.us/a/img401/4206/8rgs.jpg (1477 kB) And Peaty, thanks for your extensive suggestions, but we have already decided what direction we want to follow for A3. Don't let that stop you following the mod though, I'm sure you'll find something you like! :) Thanks to everyone that follows us! Guy
  2. Haha indeed, well remembered!
  3. Hello all, Quick update on one of the models, we also have this working in A2 and are looking to get it into the next and final A2 release! Finally a change from the old OFP model! (it did us proud). http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/8214/b1ks.png (1167 kB)
  4. Just a quick update from me. As one of the modelers for Invasion1944 I've been working on re-modelling our German Kar98 rifle to bring it up to modern standards. The basic rifle+Lods etc. is complete and working in game but we still need to finish the scopes etc before we can release it. Hopefully we will get this to you asap! Here are some pictures - hope you enjoy the update, let use know what you think and I hope you enjoy 2.66 when it comes out! 5. Hey all Ok so Visitor3 doesn't want to import ANY of the standard roads that came with VBS2 (yes I know this is a VBS2 thread but I can't find help anywhere else, please be nice! :) ). I believe this is down to an ODOL > MLOD error, or atleast in some way related (I get an error message whenever I try to open them in O2 for example). So, I decided it would be easier, and also more accurate if I just built my own damn roads. I've managed to get them imported fine, but I have one problem... http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1538/floatingroad.jpg They don't seem to conform to the ground. I've definitely set up the PB, PE, LE, LB memory points etc. and a Roadway lod... am I missing anything? Kind regards Guy

    Custom Roads

Bush you my friend are an absolute guru! Thank you so much!
  7. Ah thanks Bushlurker that makes sense!
  8. Hi all Am creating a project that needs to be accurate and have an .xyz file of the area that I need to model. However, for some reason when I import the .xyz file into Visitor it blows the hills WAY out of proportion. What should be gentle rolling hills turn into mountains! I've imported the same .xyz file into L3DT and Global mapper and both programs show the hills as they should be, it is only Visitor that seems to double the size of the hills. Please see image below for reference (Visitor is on the left). http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/5858/heightmapscale.jpg Does anyone know whether there is a way to change the import scale of the .xyz file in Visitor? Please note, I am using the VBS2 developer suite however have been informed that Visitor3 hasn't really changed. Guy

    Custom Roads

I've been thinking, do I need to make a config for these roads? At the moment I've got literally just a p3d file and a paa texture... this is reall confusing Have another picture: http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/9711/floatingroad2.jpg
  10. I believe the cell size is 5mx5m and the grid is 512x512, its only a 5.1km map
  11. Ah well in that case I'll leave it as is, I thought it was meant to show up!
  12. OK, I think I've managed somehow to stumble upon a fix. Instead of click project>Import HeightMap from XYZ I simply started the project by directly opening the XYZ file. Seems to have fixed it! Strange... Now to work out why clutter isn't showing up in Bulldozer...
  13. Hi all I am making an environment in Visitor 3 and upon importing the .XYZ heightmap I run into a problem regarding the height of hills. They are massive! What should be gentle rolling hills are now pretty much mountains! I tried importing the same data into both Global mapper and L3DT which render it fine, but whenever I import the data into Visitor it blows it completely out of proportion. Is there a way to set an import scale? Kind Regards Guy
  14. Hello all I'm 99.9% sure this is not a problem with the game and is in fact something I'm just doing wrong, but I can't seem to keep the Hueys in the air on the military missions! I take off and fly towards the objective as normal, flying straight and level I ensure that I am not exceeding the speed limit of the engine etc. Then before long the airframe begins to shake rapidly. This develops into violent shaking which eventually turns into the rotor blades slowing down to a stop (presumably as the engine has died) and I fall to the earth like a screaming khaki painted rock. In conclusion I ask, what am I doing wrong!? I must be forgetting something stupid, but as a n00bie I just don't know! I've ensured that the blade lock is OFF... I just don't know what it is lol. Thanks for your help. Guy
  15. Thanks for the replies guys; @DnA - Running the Steam version so presumably it auto updates? If not, it would have been the Steam retail version as of four days ago. @Snafu - Yes, started both and left both at full throttle, is this right?
  16. Thanks, very comprehensive! I'm sure its one of these, I'll give it a whirl (pun most definitely intended) tonight and post if I have any more problems. Thanks once again. Guy
  17. When Playing the game on all 'very high' settings, I noticed a serious lag in textures loading. As a very graphically motivated person, this was really killing my enjoyment of the game. I was trying everything to stop it, but couldn't find a fix. Until I read on the forums, while looking up an answer for my CTD error, that by setting the 'Video memory' setting to 'Default', ArmA2 would make full use of my graphics card (1gb). I noticed the differences immediately, and everything was gravy... for about five minutes. Then I started getting SERIOUS graphical artifacts: 1.Lol 2.Uber Lagggg! What is strange is that the game runs perfectly, really high fps, until the artifacts start appearing. The artifacts generally start as invisible soldiers/models. And very quickly it escalates into full screen flickering and unplayable lag. From my experience, Artifacts are generally caused by graphics cards overheating. However, this only happens when the video memory setting is changed. I can set everything else to 'very high' and graphics memory to 'high' and it works perfectly (just takes way too long to load textures, and I end up spending more time in the binoculars sorting out the lods (forcing them to appear) than enjoying the game). Here are my system specs: Windows XP SP3 AMD Athlon 7750 dual core- black edition ATI Radeon 4870 - 1gb (not overclocked) 4GB DDR2 (800mhz) - Geil black dragon RAM plenty of hard drive space ArmA settings: All - Very high Video memory - default When I put all settings to 'high' I notice that it takes about five minutes longer for the artifacts to appear, but they are the same, and still severe.
  18. Hey Topas. For future reference when making your units with long jackets, its really simple to ensure that the legs do not clip through. Basically, for every loop you have on the models leg, you need to have on the coat. SO lets say you have three loops around the knee in order to make it bend properly, you would have to have three loops going around the legs of the jacket, at the same height with verticies in very similar positions etc. Then you rig them on the same bone, and lo and behold, they animate together without clipping through! :) You only get clipping when one mesh has less loops than the other, so just make sure they are the same! :)
  19. Hey everyone My friend and I like to play simple two player Warfare working on the same team. Sounds lame but its actually immense fun! We've two gripes however, and I thought I'd post on here to see if you can help out. Basically, the AI never buys air assets, and on the Takistan map, neither side can purchase jets :( I was wondering if there was a way to perhaps tweak the warfare in order to allow this, or if someone has done it already, where to get the download from etc. Any ideas? Thanks
  20. Wow Foxhound/JDB chill out, he's just exited, hardly worth an infraction.
  21. Yup, they are indeed lol j/k looks like one of us (most likely me!) left the mass a tad too high :P Did you post this bug on the dev-heaven site?
  22. Hey Archo, yes Russians were fighting during 1944, but we're focussing on the western front really. However, if you're after some Russian action, you should check out the recently announced 'Iron Front', looks good! Thanks for the kind words guys, once I get this degree out the way I'll try and get you all some ingame shots! Akab, we are recruiting modellers, so if you want to make the armoured cars as an art test to join the mod, please do!
  23. Finally we have the New Opel Blitz model, our old one needed an update and so we have this puppy, Enjoy! I hope you enjoyed the update guys, stay tuned to I44 and have a good one!
